Well here goes my first rant!

Year 12 is fast approaching (one day) and I'm already stressing over all the work that I will have to do but desperately don't want to do. It's kind of ridiculous that people spend 13 years (prep included) going through school all working up to a peice of paper declaring that you're educated. I'm not saying that it's pointless, useless or unimportant, I'm just saying that we put SO much effort in to one little peice of paper stating we are educated.

The impression that I've gotten from quite a few people is without this peice of paper the chances of being accepted for a good job or into a good uni are slim. In the end if you don't have a job, you don't have a way to pay bills. Without paying bills you're out of a house and without a house or money it's a struggle to survive. In the end, it all comes down to surviving in this world.

So many people build up the HSC exams to seem like this massive exam that the rest of you're life and it's success rate is dependant on. Rather intimidating if you ask me. I mean is it really possible for one test to determine the rest of your life? No! Yet people still make it out to be this massive deal. It's an utterly ridiculous perception. Not only does it stress students out but it affects the people they are living around. Think about it. The tendancy of most people is to take out the stress on other people. So the family around the student ends up getting alot of stress unoaded onto them as well! And it's usually due to the parents putting preasure and stress on them to do well in the first place [rolls eyes]. Some people say stress is a good thing ... but too much stress? That's a different story.

[End rant]

Well, the baby shower was interesting... He came and brought his gf... but she brought a present and wasn't trying to make me upset of anything, so I'm ok with her being there. He on the other hand was sulking in the corner, and being stupid. I was ignoring his comments and honestly can't say what he did or didn't say-I really didn't want to hear it and I wasn't about to let him ruin my baby shower. He started being a total immature idiot, balancing a big bottle of tea on his head, and almost fell on the cake twice... if it had been on a table instead of a file cabinet it would have been tipped over and ruined... Then he got 'sick to his stomach' and instead of saying he didn't feel well he pretended to puke all over the place and said 'that's how I feel' He left shortly after, and took the gf with. The weird thing was that he gave me a hug on his way out. I shrugged it off and had a good baby shower despite him. I honestly think he got bored because I wasn't responding to his stupidity and mean comments and all he wanted to do was hurt me and it wasn't working. Although I think he has this odd idea... some weird misconception that we are going to get back together when the baby's born because he hugged me and he's not a very touchie-feelie person at all... it was weird.

Ok, so my step-dad’s mother got me a picture to hang in the baby’s room, it’s a cute painting of a mother holding a baby, and on the bottom it has some sayings about babies and at the end it mentions god, and with it was an outfit for my son to ‘wear to church’-a button up collared fancy shirt… I was polite and put it up on the wall, and put the outfit in the dresser and didn’t say anything about it because I don’t want to make a scene.. but then today she brought over a CD of music ‘for the baby to listen to every night before he sleeps, and sometimes at naptimes too’ and every other verse is ‘god loves me’ ‘Jesus is watching over me’ exc… she’s about to drive me crazy with all the Christian themed things… If she buys me an outfit for his ‘baptism’ I’m ganna scream!!! >.<
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m tolerant of Christians and don’t mind them having their beliefs, even though I don’t agree with them-that is until they start shoving them down my throat, and I don’t want them shoved down my baby’s throat either.. >.> I know she means well, but I don’t go trying to convert her, she should leave me alone too… the bad thing is that she lives down the street and I can’t just not let her in or see the baby… I’m trying to be polite, but she’s driving me nuts… Ok, I feel better now…

Well, at least he didn't ruin your shower...and I glad that you didn't let him get to you....I can't believe he brought his girlfriend!! But, if she didn't try and make trouble it's all good.

My Mom is the same way...taking my girls to church and what not and buying them all this Christian stuff. I can't blame her though, it's how she was raised but sometimes, I feel like you said, it's jammed down my throat. I let my girls make their own decisons. My 15 year old has decided that Paganism is wrong and she wishes to go to church and be Christian. I'm ok with it as long as she does not bash paganism. My 7 year old goes to church and enjoys it, but she also knows "Mommy's ways" and has participated in group rituals that I have done. And well, my 20 month old is too young to decide...yet.

Well, his gf was my friend... then they started going out a month after him and I broke up... >.>

Ya, don't get me wrong, if he wants to be Christian then more power to him, but she's ganna brainwash him from birth with all this 'Jesus loves me' stuff... I'll just have to find myself a pagan CD and play one then the other LOL, that way it's even... although I'm not sure where I'll find a child's sleep CD with pagan songs...? Any ideas?

I have never heard of a pagan CD for children....
Expose him to both worlds and you can't really go wrong. It's really hard not to have him bombarded with Christian ideals. But just try to pair a Christian ideal with a Pagan ideal. It's not impossible, but it could be difficult. When he is so little, I wouldn't loose sleep over it. I'd start teaching when he is about 2 1/2-3 years old or so...
Just my humble opinion....

About your baby's father and his girlfriend....I know what you mean.
My ex husband's soon to be bride was trying to be my friend the whole time she was sleeping with my (not an ex at that time) husband!!! That just goes against the "women rules." Just rude.

Gaugh... I got asked tonight to help start a coven and be the high prestest... >.< I'm don't know... it's a lot of responcability and pressure, and I don't know if I'm ready for that... There is no coven around here, and it would be useful to have one, but the whole coven setting is a bit, well, demanding on time and energy... I don't know... stressed

Ok, so it turns out that somthing was wrong with my modem's drive interface with the (bla bla bla, i lost it there with the computer lingo... bla bla bla somthing wrong with the computer bla bla bla rofl ) and becayse Jen's computer totaly bit the bucket, we tore into it for salvagable parts and replaced my modem with hers. xd So now (I'm probably jinxing myself ^_^;; ) I've got a properly working computer!!! Now I won't be dealing with my computer crashing every 5-15 minutes like it was, and I'll be able to reply to things I was wanting to lol. (every time i tried to reply it would crash crying )

I know it would be a big thing, but it's like, with how unstable my life is right now (not having a job, no steady relationship (not that you need a man to be a prestest LOL) a baby coming in a matter of days now, me needing to go back to colage) I just don't know if I'm up to running a coven... even with the help I would have from friends... right now I feel like I need to get my life in order and stable first. How can you direct a coven to work in harmony if you can't even get your own life on it's feet?
My son has to come first. I need to finish colage first and have a stable job , then I can think about it... The person that wanted me to start it will have to understand that, he is a collage grad with five (?) kids and him and his wife owns their own huge house-wich they said we could use for the coven when we wern't needing to be outside and such- so I'm sure he'll understand how the coven isn't the first thing on my priority list...

I hate it when people act like something never happened. Its like cutting a part of you out. Or when you tell someone your religion and they freak out! O My God! Your into witchcraft? You must be evil! -spazz out-

Shinys,
I think that you are doing the right thing. A coven is a lot of work and a baby is even more(I'm sure you already know that). Get you and your son's life in order, then try it if it's what you want....
Just my opinion!
