I saw a few of the 4kids dub episodes. Lets just say anything 4kids touches turns to ash. xp Yeah, it sucked.
As for the japanese version, I haven't seen it. I'm not a huge fan of anime, so I'd just stick to the games.

As for the japanese version, I haven't seen it. I'm not a huge fan of anime, so I'd just stick to the games. Even so, the last 3 episodes are worth watching. SPOILER The minute the Halberd launches in episode 98, with music from Super Star no less, is truly epic. I admit, I do not like how the Halberd is portrayed in the anime, but it's still super-cool. Then the jump to Ludacris speed at the end of the ep. (I like how MK doesn't need a restraint for some reason) and going into the next. The appearance of Heavy Lobster attacking the brig, and then the final showdown in episode 100 with Nightmare. If only the rest of the series could have been like that.... Oh well, haha. End Spoiler

I'm sorry, but I couldn't stand the ending.
Highlite for spoilers:
The final showdown with Nightmare was to fast and easy. Kirby swallows his warpstar, and becomes StarRod Kirby. Nightmare is defeated because the StarRod shines with a white light. (Kirby barely has to lift a finger.) Then Kirby and friends then blow up the space station with a bomb.
:Okay, stop Highliting now.
I was speachless with disapiontment. I was expecting some sort of epic struggle against the source of all evil, and I get an ending that's as violent as the ending to each Barney the Dinosaur episode. Even 4Kids couldn't mess it up too much.
I liked the rest of the series though. 3nodding

The series was only intended to last 100 episodes, so it was a bit rushed. Also keep in mind where they WERE. I mean, of course the battle would be easy because if you're inside your own DREAM....
Plus, Nightmare made a final statement that should be taken into account. This statement is said just before the departure (screw spoilers, hah) and after his defeat. For he is but a dream, and as long as people continue to dream, he will return.
