Rika sighed. She sat under a tree, near the bottom of Capitol Hill. She watched as people went about their lives, feeling all to bored herself. She spotted an elder coming toward her, and sat up. The elder approched, apperantly slightly preoccupied. He told her that she was supposed to get her things ready for a journey to the Mars Lighthouse, and that she needed to meet Matt in his lobby. She said a quick thanks as she lept up, escalated that she was acctually getting to go somewhere new. She uncarimoiously stuffed the necesties into her pack and trotted to the lobby, wistiling a plesant tune.

Matt was just sitting back on the couch of the lobby with his eyes closed, his bag by his side and his arms around the couch, taking up the entire couch by himself. After five minutes, Matt grew tired of waiting; he got up and started pacing around the lobby, examining the various scenic paintings on the cream-colored wall. Each time the door swung open, Matt turned around to check if it was Rika, but it was always just a rich merchant who lavishly spent his or her money on staying in this particular suite. After all, only the richest can afford to spend their money to stay in this luxorious quarter. Matt, however, was able to spend his nights here free of charge due to obvious reasons. Despite complaints from the higher ranked adepts, Matt made sure that the elder and other key members of the Venus Clan stayed in other dorms. It's better to be safe than to keep all the eggs in one basket after all.
Matt was about to head over to the counter to initiate a conversation with the clerk when he heard the door open again. Matt turned to see Rika with a partially filled pack trotting in and whistling. He eagerly approached her but instead of his usual friendly hello, Matt got straight to the point and briefed her on the mission.
"Alright, took you long enough. Here's the assignment. We're going to be riding to the Mars Lighthouse to the north to..."
Matt hesitated a bit before speaking.
"...to negotiate on some terms concerning the welfare of the borderline villages. Although you've rarely been out of the capital ever since you came here, I'm sure you've heard about the raids that have been spreading like wildfire across the territories lately. I have reason enough to believe that even Master Kinshou's territory is in danger to this threat. You and two other veteran adepts will escort me to the Mars Lighthouse. After the negotiation, we'll be immediately heading back here. I'm expecting our travels to be swift, so we won't have any time for sleeping in-between. Of course, we might stay in a village or two for short 10 minutes breaks once in awhile."
Matt paused to let Rika absorb the information.
"Negotiate...yea, that's good. She doesn't need to know about all that revenge crap."
"I've taught you alot over the years, but I've neglected to give you experience concerning traveling. I think it'll be a good idea to go around the more rural areas and such."
Without giving Rika a chance to give any feedback of her own opinions, Matt grabbed his bag and dragged her through the crowds across the Venus capital to the stables where the two designated veteran adepts were already waiting.
"Hey Lance, doing well with that new polearm Jin gave you?"
Lance looked at the long red pole that he had already packed onto his white horse. There was an interestingly designed blade at the end, well decorated with jewels and sharpened to dangerous trident design.
"It's rich, that's for sure."
Matt chuckled a bit and walked over to greet the other adept.
"Working on improving that [Spire] spell like I told you to, Taylor?"
Taylor, unlike Lance, stayed rigid in his attitude and response.
"Yes sir."
"Heh, you're always the obedient guy."
Taylor ran to the back of the stables and dragged out another white horse similar to Lance's, and a brown horse. Matt signaled for the brown horse and Lance loaded the horse with Matt's posessions. Unfortunately, Matt still didn't really get the roots of horse riding yet. But he was a bit better at it than he was five years ago.
Matt managed to get upon the horse by himself and looked at Rika.
"Oh whoops, I almost forgot about you. So you coming or not Rika?"

It was growing late and Kassion had already tended to his burns. The training grounds were empty and night began to take its shift over the land.
Kassion had left noticed Maxwell and Trinity shortly after their skirmish. Trinity had wandered off and did whatever a woman does after beating a man in combat. Maxwell seemed a bit on edge, so before leaving, Kassion walked up to him and simply patted him on the shoulder as he walked by. For an instant, Kassion looked straight into his eyes and gave him as much of a reassuring glance as he could and continued walking.
He tightened up the loop on his pants and picked up Edarum and Helios. With Helios hanging on his left shoulder and Edarum in his right hand at his waist, Kassion walked out to the abandoned training grounds with only his loose wool pants and his weapons.
He looked around to make sure that no one was around. The training grounds were on the western side of the city, just before the sea. They were enormous and magnificient, so large that they could host several hundred small sparring matches at once.
No one was in sight.
He hoisted Edarum above his head and with a grunt, he hurdled it into the nearest rock, embedding it into it slightly.
He tossed Helios into his right hand and rushed forward, zig-zagging this way and that. He noticed a massive boulder just in time. He lept up and off of the thing, launching himself into the air.
Without hesitation, he threw Helios. Spinning end-over-end, Helios hit a smaller boulder below him with near perfect accuracy, utterly wrecking it. He landed on the balls of his feet, spun and swung with the reappering Helios into the air at his side. Creating his own melodic dance, he spun, lept, and swung. It seemed almost as if there was someone there... Light was absent, leaving him blind. He continued to fight this battle with himself for many minutes, untiring. At a random instant, he backpeddled into a boulder and flipped himself up, yanking Edarum from its stony sheath.
As he landed, he wielded both weapons and began swinging furiously at his invisible foe. Dashing, leaping, and twisting, he fought himself around the entire section of the field that he was on.
You are wrong.
He fought into more and more sections of the training field.
The light shall not fade...
He swung on at nothing. His body ached, but he noticed nothing
My life is nothing without the light of our world...
He dashed around another rock, swung at a battle dummie, turning it into mere splinters. His pace quickened.
One by one, we all will fall. Who will be there to stop the darkness?
His momentum rose with each swing of the massive weapons. His body was screaming under the strain of the weapons. He fought harder.
I will not fail.
Boulders began bursting into dust. The continuous cry of "Helios" could be heard in an almost perfect tempo.
Mithril against stone and wood was the only thing that could be heard other than the chanting in Kassions head.
I cannot fail.
He couldn't see anything. His heart and rage, melded into one, guided him.
In the distance, one may have heard a faint howl of defiance.
The light of the world shall not dim! I won't let it!
One last boulder burst into a heap of dust and broken stone.
The dust of stone settled into the ground.
The clang of metal and stone ceased.
The chanting stopped...
Edarum and Helios hit the ground, followed by a large thump...

Having left the field and retired to his quarters after Kassion had reassured him, he lay there in bed, watching the stars outside his window. "I wonder...just how long will this...'peace' last? It's been so on edge lately, thanks to rouges..." He said to himself more than to anybody else. Fuyu, sleeping alongside him, fliped his tail into the air before rolling off the bed and onto his little cot just below. "He can rest easily..." He said with a chuckle as he looked at the demonic axe attached to his clothing, now hanging up inside a special closet. He had it made and placed in with several inhibitors lining the sides, thus allowing him a peaceful sleep, and the axe no time to try and get to him. Should it fail, though...havoc would be wrought across the small area. When he was asleep, and the axe got ahold of him, the demonic spells grew to such extent thanks to the sleeping Psynergy inside him. "Such a cursed tool...I regret picking it up those years ago." He sighed and lay his head down on the pillow, falling asleep rather quickly.

Arrows rain down from the sky. One of them pireced through a guards helment stabing him in the eye. Mortimer's army has been attacking the fort for the last two days. His numbers have dwindled very little. When the lords gurars have gone form 150 to 25.
It was the last day of the attack. Once all the guards are down, Mortimer and his men will charge head first the rest of the way to the fort and seize it and take thier bounty.
The guards were in aw of how many of their men have fallen from such a small army's anslought. They had numbers, best wepond money could buy, the best defence, yet the mercenaries were cutting throught thier ranks like they were nothing but butter on toast.
The arrows stop of out no where. You could hear the screams of pain and terror as the wounded men were brought into the fort for medical attenion. It was hopeless though, the arrows were tiped with posion; Nami's own resipe.
Mortimer gave them his men time to change thier weapons and get into line for the finall storm of the fort. Men were coming out of the fort to protect it at all coast. The lord had already waisted his best men at the start of the battles. Now it was just strong young men that volintered to help the lord so he would not take thier land.
A shout was cryied out and the mercenaires ran forward. Arrows were being fired above them to give them more cover.
Mortimer was infront of the army a long sword in one hand and a short sword in the other. Most of his men had axes or pollarms. Some had long and short swords and others the more powerfull men were wielding claymores.
Mortimer was the first to land a blow. His long sword was in graved into a bucket shield when his other was stuck in a neck of the man holding the shield.
He pulled the long sword out of the shield to slash at one man's chest, a long blood stream formed going from the top of his face to the start of his left leg.
His other sword was in its sheath and the open hand was pointed at the sky. From what it sounded like he was just talking random words, but when he finsih he cried out a word and a long stream came out of his hand. It formed a head, arms, legs, tail, and spines. All of the guards screamed in terror of the sight they were seeing, a dragon. It flew down swipping at men with its talons and tail. Its' mouth opend wide when it came to a big group of the men.
The battle was over in miniets. Mortimer got the lords head for his bounty. The men started to walk back to the camp.
Mortimer was walking in the back when he droped down on to his knees. No one saw him but Nami sitting in a tree watching the whole battle. She sent the healers to tend for the men when she went to Mortimer.
Mortimer roared in pain, it looked like the whip scares on his body were palsing. He tired his best not to show his wings. He screamed again droping to the grass. The last thing he saw was Nami's face crying.

Kai watched all his men disband for traveling. They never traveled to gether, it would draw too much attention. Kai turned to the remaining 10 soldiers. "lets go......" Kai turned and got onto a horse. It trotted off. Kai closed his eyes as he was on the horse. A memory of fighting along side Kinshou poped into his head. "Erg.....Damn. Why do they keep coming back. I thought I had everything under control. I thought all the light was gone.......He's surviving somehow." Kai shook his head and his men were now close behind him they too were on horses, some doubled. "HA!" Kai cracked the reins and the horses all galloped off at full speed.

He'd never thought it would happen, but here it was. He'd thought he could predict when he would be hit, but it had surprised him. Hiro found his head pounding and the room spun violently in his sight. Different colors seemed to bleed into eachother, black dots swam merrily through his vision.
"M'Lord? Are you alright?" the one General with whom he'd been consulting asked. The five others shared looks of concern.
Hiro stood there for a moment, his hand on his head before the attack fully hit. He collapsed to the floor, his hands clutching at his chest. The six Generals lept up and rushed to his side. He wasn't aware of them at all, just the terrible blinding pain shooting from his chest and head. The pain had never been so severe, tearing through him like a child tears through wrapping paper. He wasn't aware of the Generals shouting, calling for healing help, one General gently putting his hands on Hiro's back, trying to heal him, or the one General standing, imobile in shock.
For a moment, Hiro thought the pain was over, that the spell had come to an end, and all would be well. But the pain roared back so fiercly he barely had time to gasp before the thousands of black dots blended together in his vision into one massive darkness, and he finished his collapse to the floor.
The healers came, and tried to figure out what was wrong with him, but no one could explain any of it, or why he lay in a coma from which not even his best healers could awaken him.

Rika's mind raced as she was being draged through the capital. Negotiate? She didn't like the sound of it. She'd never been good at negotiating, her temper always got the better of her. Always. And.....what's with the pause? She'd noticed it. Matt had paused when he was about to tell her what they were going to do. Matt never paused, unless he was letting her take in the info he'd just given her or giving her a chance to speak. Was something wrong? Well, whatever it is, I'm sure I'll find out eventually. If Matt was hiding something from her, there was going to be a good reason. She hoped. She was abuptly brought back to reality when Matt called her name. "And just how could you forget about me?" She asked sarcasiticly. Her frown deepened. Horses. She had tried horse riding, but for some reason or another, the animals didn't seem to like her very much. Just great.....

"Heh, sorry about that."
Matt got off his horse and went over to Rika and studied her.
"Why the long face?"
Matt thought about this for awhile until he came to a valid conclusion.
"Why of course! I don't ever remember sending you outside of the capital before. My, you're one awfully deprived student of mine."
Matt focused a bit of his psyenergy to form a small staircase from the dirt leading up to Rika's assigned horse.
"It's pretty easy to ride a horse. The hard part is getting the horse to listen to you though. I mean, even I have trouble doing that. But you'll get it. I hope."
Matt went back and 'boarded' his horse. The other two adepts double checked their equipment and proceeded to do the same.
"We shouldn't waste our time over this. I was expecting to have three escorts, not two escorts and a person to babysit. Lance, you make sure Rika doesn't run into any problems with her horse. Taylor and I will head on to the mountainside village of Vale first. That's going to be our only stop before we head over to Prox. I expect you guys to be there in four hours. Sound good?"
Lance nodded his head.
"And one last thing. If you guys encounter any monsters, let Rika take care of them. She needs the active experience anyways. So, good luck you two."
Matt turned his horse around and motioned Taylor to follow him. As the stalls were located near the edge of the Venus Capital, they didn't need to navigate through much traffic before entering an open grassy field.
"Seems like I'm spending more time outside than in the Venus Capital nowadays. And all that time, I still wasn't able to find them..."
Taylor addressed Matt.
"Is there something wrong sir? We should really be moving on like you said."
"Oh, yea. We wouldn't want a trainee horse rider to beat us in a horse race, now would we?"
Matt pulled on the reins of his horse, with Taylor following suite. The two rode off in the direction of the distant mountains seen in the horizon, a landmark used to locate the tiny borderline village of Vale...

The next morning, he awoke, to find that nothing bad had happened to him during the night. "Good thing that inhibitor ore was effective...cost me quite abit of gold." Carefully getting off the bed, he went to the showers to get ready for the day. But, he didn't get there in peace. Fuyu woke up and followed him inside. "Yay! Bath time!" Running around in the bath, he jumped in and took a dive, enjoying the hot water. "Okay, okay. No splashing." He said, wiping water off of his face as his little friend splashed about, spinning in circles to clear off any dirt. He remained there for twenty minutes or so, and cleaned both him and Fuyu before returning to the room. Getting a new change of clothes, he decided to leave the axe there to see how it would react when it wasn't touching him. "I'm going to have a good day today...free of anything trying to take control of me." He muttered to himself as Fuyu jumped ontop of his head after he put on his shirt and armor. Grabbing his sword, he placed it on his side and walked out of his room. Looking back, he saw the axe react to his leaving, but it couldn't do anything about it. "Yes...a normal day." Whistling a tune, he walked out of the facility and into town, intending to have a normal life this once.

"Ugh..." A sharp, repeating pain kept hitting Kassion on his right cheek. "Master?"
"Arhh!" Kassion swatted at the sound and hit something tangible. Kassion's eyes shot wide open and he glaced about frantically. All he saw was another adept kneeling in front of him, poking him with an annoyingly sharp stick. He lifted his head and put his hands on the ground in front of him. He lifted himself up from the ground and flipped over into a sitting position. It took him a moment to clear his head and realize were he was. He looked to his sides and grabbed his weapons and then asked the student, "What time is it?"
"Um, it is about noon, Master." The confused student replied.
"Crap... I really have to stop doing this..."
"Falling asleep in the training grounds after turning it into a baren wastelad?" Came a rather sarcastic reply from the boy.
Kassion snapped his head up and glared at the boy. The adept yelped and scurried off. Kassion pulled himself to his feet and looked around. There were only a handful of people around. There should be only a few people there. It was the weekend and there was no training scheduled.
Kassion walked around for a moment to see what he had done. The place was in ruins. Rocks torn and blasted to bits and training dummies turned into splinters.
"I really need to seek out professional help..." He shook his head in vague disbelief.
He spoke to the adepts that were there and asked them to wait until the evening to train. Kassion then started to [move] rocks from a ridge nearby and replace the broken ones in the training grounds.

Matt approached the sleepy mountainside town of Vale much earlier than expected. His horse, however, was a bit out of shape. Right at the entrance of the town, Matt and Taylor tied their horses to a pole and entered the peaceful village. Around the town square, there were several young kids playing with a ball. But what caught Matt's attention was a large psyenergy crystal in the middle of a pool of water in the town square. Matt was about to interrogate one of the kids concerning the psyenergy crystal, but decided that they're too young to even bother with.
"So...what are we going to do while waiting?
Taylor's voice caught not only the attention of Matt, but the kids. Knowledgable enough to know about the recent raids that had been occuring, the kids fled back to their homes, leaving the red ball they were playing with behind. Mildly upset about this, Matt walked over and kicked the ball to the wall, causing it to bounce off violently. He turned to Taylor.
"We go greet the town elder. Taylor, I should tell you something. The outbreak of war is going to be inevitable once I meet up with Master Kinshou. My hope is to eliminate Kinshou right there, thus ending the reign of the original master adepts. That's why I need you escorts. Incase Kinshou summons aid from his clan members, I need you guys to hold them off while I take out Kinshou myself. Understand?"
Taylor looked at Matt with a confused face.
"Exactly what's causing this war?"
Matt abruptly answered, almost as if he was prepared to be asked the question.
"Taylor, before you joined the Venus Clan, you remember who was the previous leader, yes?"
Taylor nodded.
"And you remember the shadow war, yes?"
Taylor nodded his head in agreement.
"Let me tell you something. There are a possibility of two things that happened to Master Spectrum. He is still trapped in the shadow realm while attempting to eliminate the shadow demon threat, or he has been murdered by Master Kinshou. I have reasons to believe that Master Kinshou is the cause of the shadow war, making a pact with these demons in order to weaken the rest of the clans. Not only that, but it was because of him that Master Rohiko was killed. By killing not one, but two masters at a time of truce is inconceivable. Thus Master Kinshou must be killed in order for the shadow of war to leave us."
Taylor took the information well.
"A war must be started in order to end wars...it has happened many times in the past before. And yet I still don't know whether this is true or not..."
Matt made his way to the stairs, ascending the cliffs of Vale. There were houses scattered around the town, indicating that the town isn't as sleepy as it might've seemed.
"This place is just security safe. I guess I would've done the same thing if I were a civilian. The raids are terrorizing the towns more than I thought. I need to put an end to this fear."
Crossing several bridges and going up more stairs, Matt finally approached a structure that could be deemed the home of the town elder. Remembering to be polite, Matt knocked on the door.
"Oh yea, I almost forgot. Could you go to the town entrance and wait for Rika and Lance there? I'm getting worried about the awful time it's taking for them to get here. They either got lost, encountered more monsters than expected, or Rika is still having trouble with her horse. When they arrive, take them over to the elder's house right here."
Taylor groaned at the thought of having to travel all that distance across the village. Vale had quite a large area for such a 'small village.' Matt shot Taylor a glance and Taylor quickly made his way back to the other side of Vale. At this point, the village elder opened the door and greeted Matt.
"Well well, I take it that since Vale is still standing, you are not a pillager."
"Of course not. Master Strider at your service here."
The elder had yet to see Matt before, thus he was genuinely surprised and glad to see him at his doorstep.
"My, make yourself at home and do come in and have a seat. Would you like some tea?"
The elder made way for Matt to enter. Matt went into the house, but waved his hand to the offer of tea. He prefered plain water right now, but didn't ask for it. He removed his sheaths and placed them on a table, showing the elder a sign that he meant no harm and was not someone simply claiming to be the Venus Master. Such cases of identity theft has occured before, and Matt made sure that he was not mistaken to be one of them.
"Now, I'm sorry about not visiting earlier, but hopefully, you can forgive me on that."
"No no, we've been doing fine all along, although we're afraid that we will soon be a target of these raiders."
"Yes, that has been quite an issue of concerning recently, but I think you will have little to fear from them soon. Instead, there's going to be another problem approaching."
The elder had an inqusitive look on his face.
"First, the bad news. The Venus Clan will be entering war with the Mars Clan very shortly. And as a borderline town, you will undoubtedly be a major hit with them, not to mention your great location for defense."
By such horrendous news, the elder simply could not express his dispair but to place his left hand on his forehead and to turn his head from side to side in disbelief. Seeing this, Matt quickly went on to the good news.
"The good news is, Vale will be sent masses of forces in order to keep control of Vale from the Mars Clan. In fact, fighting may never take place in Vale, because most of the forces will be sent to the mountain tops around Vale to defense the position. This also means that Vale will undoubtedly be safe from the raiders, because they not only have the local militia to worry about, but members of the Venus Clan prowling about. And don't be too worried about martial law. Although I will sending someone here to claim martial law over this town, you will still have power over him. During wartime, the temporary military prescence will make decisions in order to benefit the safety of the village, but you still get to make the political decisions with the town. If you encounter any problems, I'll be sure to deal with the represenator myself. Sound good?"
The elder seemed satisfied with the terms and thus agreed to it.
"Oh, and what's with that giant psyenergy crystal outside?"
"That...was what this village was found for. I don't really know for sure what it is, but it may have something to do with the Sol Sanctum we have here."
"Sol Sanctum...giant psyenergy crystal...I'm definitely going to check out this place after the war."
Afterwards, they spoke of general issues, and simply having a casual conversation for an hour or so.
"It's been fun talking to you, but I need to get going, alright? Seeya."
Matt grabbed his sheaths and ran outside.
"What the heck is taking them so long?"
He got to the entrance of town and saw Taylor, still waiting for Rika and Lance.
"What, they're still not here yet?"
Taylor saw Matt back from his long conversation and lazily spoke.
"Nope."
Matt grew impatient with waiting, and the day was passing by with each minute. He had to get to the Mars Lighthouse before dusk.
"Argh, know what, you just stay in Vale until they get over here. I'm going by myself to the Mars Lighthouse. When they arrive, scold them for taking so long and get your asses over to Prox as fast as you can, got it?"
"So do I still have to wait out here?"
"Go entertain yourself around town or something."
With that, Matt untied his horse and formed a short staircase leading up to his horse from the ground. He was used to doing so and made it a habit in order to get on his horse. Matt checked his packs and rode off to the mountains and Prox.

As Hiro lay in a coma, in his mind he drifted. He glided gently over the land, watching. A part of him was waiting, waiting for the right moment. He could sense a tension in the air. Something had to happen, and it had to happen soon. He slipped into a meditative state, building up his psynergy while he slept. Suddenly, Hiro noticed a comotion as he ghosted over the land. He floated closer and found himself watching his ex-student! Mortimer! He stared, mildly stunned. He floated down by his student. "Mortimer? Mortimer?" he called with his mind, having no idea if his student could hear him or not. He was frightfully worried.
Hiro got close to Mortimer, and was about to touch his face, to see if he could awaken him, when suddenly he felt something wrench inside of him, and with a scream of pain, was sent flying into the dark abyss of total unconciousness(sp?).

Walking amongst the normal people of the town, he was reminded of how he once was. He was once part of a family, trying to scrap by with what little money they had until he became a merc. Then, he sent back the money he gained on his jobs to his father, who always wrote back that he didn't need to do such things, and that he should focus on himself, buying armor and such to keep him safe. But, regardless, he would always send those letters back with money inside, knowing they needed it. In the past 5 years, however, he had sent back plenty of money, with only a few replies. He knew it took a long time for letters to travel this far, but still. This whole time, he had only gotten 16 letters. But, he didn't stress about it. Instead, he walked into the nearest bar to meet a few new people and talk to other people that were once in his line of profession before joining the forces up here.

((Kassion woke up at noon, which means there was a 3-4 hour pause before Matt arrived. Just a note before you make a mistake in time shifts.))
The Mars Lighthouse. Matt halted his horse and got off. He looked up at where the sun was.
"Mid afternoon...And this place is as cold as Imil. I don't remember Prox being this cold."
Much more militaristic than the Venus Capital, Prox featured a very orderly theme throughout the region, and Matt could see a variety of armed men and adepts training around the region. Prox was situated in a less friendly environment than Lalivero. While there were much structures and suitable habitats for animals scattered around, there was a large area that was rocky and barren; a thrashed up training ground.
Matt equiped his three blades and pocketed items he may need very soon. While searching in his bag, he took a good look at the helm of his armor.
"Should I...or should I not. Getting hit by his warhammer, even with armor, is not something I want to risk. I'll avoid it."
Matt stuffed the helm back into the pack.
"Spire!"
Unlike his usual [Spire] attack, he focused little psyenergy into it. A thin long boulder protruded from the ground. He tied his horse to this boulder and went off to the heart of the Mars Capital. Wandering the training grounds, he took a good look around at the practicing adepts and their fighting styles. None of the adepts paid heed to Matt, as they were either too busy training, or they didn't realize he was not one of their kin. He finally approached the base of the Mars Lighthouse and attempted to look up on the top of it. There weren't any guards there, so Matt opened the doors and proceeded to the roof of the lighthouse. Following the long flight of stairs, Matt emerged at the top of the lighthouse and looked upon the Mars territory from the view, attempting to spot Kassion from the location.
