Quinn gazed at the moving panel of the book. She had heard of these linking books before and done some minor research on them, but she had never before seen one in person.

Zane edged closer, but Quinn managed to push him back before a drip of spittle from his panting tongue could fall and mar the book.

((Quinn: Mother-hen, smart, helpful, a little silly. Zane: Mishchevious, loyal, has a prediliction for baby things, escpecially eggs. He's strangely maternal.))

Her bucket was nearly full when Trelweny thought she heard the unmistakable sounds of a kun jabbering. Turning around she spied Her cait at the base of the pier, arguing with a small speck that was most likey Tien with the way the kunkunese was flying. Sighing she resigned herself to settling their squabble. Odd, Locke usually doen't disagree with Tien... Shippou does.
"Now you've done it! She's coming!" The voice of the tiny fox rose over his companions, ringing clearly in Trelweny's ears. Shoulda known he wouldn't be too far from Locke. He still treats the cait like a cit in his charge. "What's this about guys? You're supposed to be helping Papa out with Theron."
Locke had the decency to look apologetic. "aw.. come on. He pulls our tails & swats us with that feather-ended cat toy he swings around. 'sides, your dad doesn't seem to like us around."
That was true. Her father did not like anything out of the ordinary, & green talking caits were not normal to him. "Jezebel can get away with being around him cuz he thinks she's a grey cat." He stops to chuckle to himself. "Won't he be surprised if she ever opens her eyes & he sees how red & pupilless they are!"
That thy Tyuri had stayed behind was little surprise. She was rather shy & skittish. Better she was at home.
"Ihi nerae por san. Opa opa bi-ird nerae mit. Mirai! Mirai!" The faerie like kun kun thrust a sheet of paper in Trelweny's face. She blinked in surprise, not at Tien's addition of other languages to its kunkunese but at the actions of ger kun. She had not known Tien could deliver anything. Unable to come up with a reply she reads.

"Oh! I'd better get to Sosiqui's place." Looking around she nods. "You all might as well come too. Just promise me that you'll be careful! Especially you, Tien! If you wander out of sight I'll tie you to my bag!" With nods all around & fervent kunkunese promises from the adventurous kun they made their way to meet with Sosiqui.

Another quirk of the brow, Epine had forgotten how easily amused some people were and Sosiqui was perhaps no ecception - or mayhaps it was simply Epine's own cynical nature that was causing her to act in this manner. Nevertheless, she shook her head to remove the expression from her delicate features and turned her gaze upon the avian and then the book once more, the twinkle in her eye giving in to the interest she held in the artefact.

"So you want us to go in?" Epine enquired at last, turning her emerald eyes upon Sosiqui as the Rishlan took a seat by her feet...

Quinn turned her head away, hoping Sosi hadn't caught her grin when she said the bird was as smart as she was. Sosi was smart enough, in her own way... she just hoped the bird had a better sense of it's surroundings and was a little less scatterbrained.

Smiling, Quinn inquired as to the days goals.

"Winter's... uh... I think Atrus sent her a letter of some kind, too...?" Sosiqui said, hesitating. "It didn't say to get in touch with her, it just said she'd talk to us before we went, so I think she'll find us."

She rubbed her hands together and surveyed the stuff. "I don't know what kind of Age it is, although the name of it sounds watery... so I brought a whole lot of stuff from the attic. Just in case! Be prepared! It's kind of messy, though..."

K'eer spread her wings in startlement as the tent-pole pile shivered under her.

Epine glanced round briefly at Trelweny and gave a slight nod of acknowledgement, for the time being she was choosing to remain silent (unless addressed) and was taking it as an opportunity to finally get to know exactly who she would be travelling with for there was absolutely no way that she would allow this chance of adventure to slip between her fingertips...

//Epine is - cynical, sarcastic and always speaks her mind regardless of whether it hurts a person or not but she's logical, determined and useful in many situations (you either love her or hate her)... Ah, D&D Neutral evil rocks.
