In the Beginning...
Quo was sitting in his room staring at the small pink sphere he rolled around in his hand. There was no question that he was holding onto a creation orb, but he had no clue why that commoner had just shoved it into his hand and run. To be more clear, Quo didn't care anyway. One last moron coming into the council and asking to have this or that. Sure they didn't have to grant the requests, but still most of them passed through.
It didn't help that many of the people kept going to the other magi for their requests. Especially that suck up, Ergo. Nothing frustrated him more than admitting to the fact that despite his childish attitude, Ergo did have talent. Now Quo was flipping through scrolls and tomes trying to find an interesting creature for his enchantment. The light filtering through the windows danced and caused the orb to sparkle more at the prospect of certain races. Quo wasn't one to believe in this method to decide normally, but the pink glow seemed most defined when he rested on tengu. Almost as if the orb itself had decided what it had wanted to be long ago.
There was just one slight problem with this... Quo couldn't cast the tengu enchantment himself. Just my luck, the one time I slept instead of learning enchants, and it's the one my orb has been set on. Locating a list of the magi and the enchantments they could cast, Quo went down the parchment until he found Tengu.
"No... it can't be....." Quo uttered in horror as he checked again, "...you mean I have to ask ERGO?!?!" Now more than ever he wished he had bothered studying more of the skills and spells more seriously. It was too late though. He had shown talent - and that got to his head. Now he was going to have to swallow his pride and ask the one person he even considered a rival for help.
