[x]h i t s u g a y a____x

Enki pulled open the large, heavy wooden door, the metal fringes creaked loudly and ehoed through the abandoned streets of Central. She pulled her brother into the little room that was behind the door and out of the cold rainy day. A middle-aged man stood behind the long dark maple counter, flipping through a magazine. he looked up at the sound of the wind-chims jingling when they walked in. "Oh, hello! I was expecting you two yesturday. I gotall worried because you two didn't show." He said, his voice was loud and hearty, almost like what people would expect Santa Claus would sound like if he ever really showed up and spoke. Lately the inn hadn't been getting so much business but that didn't stop the innkeeper from keeping the place all war and ocmfy. The room was lit up by a fire that was burning strongly in the fireplace, liting up the different tones of brown in the room. "Gomen, it took a little longer to get here this time. it kept on raining on us." Enki replied, indicating to Toushirou, who refused to keep on traveling when it began raining. Shiro looked away and crossed his arms over his chest. The innkeeper shook his head and waved a hand in front of his face. "Don't worry about it. You're roms all clean and ready. Same room as always, of course. All of your stuff is still there too. Haven't touched it, I promise ye." He said giving another hearty laugh. "Well hurry and get changed, I'll get some food ready."

Since the innkeeper was a good firned of their Father's, he let them have one room of their own that they could use whenever they wanted, almost like a house. Even though they didn't live there or go back to their room everyday. He was almost like an Uncle to them and wanted to to take them in after their Dad had died, but they said no. So to make up for him not being able ot help them, he let them have free meals there and a free room. It wasn't like he every got a full house anyways. The two nodded and made their way up the dark maple staircase and down a long hallway on the right and to the last room on the right. Enki stuck a little golden key into the hole above the doorknob and once she heard a "click" she pushed it open. A gust of wind hit thier faces as they walked in. The innkeeper was right, the room was just as they had left it half a year before, but a bit cleaner. After changing into some dry clothes, the left the room and made their way back down the stairs and into the lounge, where one of the little square tables was already filled with some food.

Enki ran over to the table and took a seat, quickly digging into the bowl of soup, while Toushirou took his time walking over. If it were up to him, he would have just stayed in the room, but since the innkeeper had prepared some food for them, he didn't want to be rude. And he didn't want to act all grumpy since this was like their "vacation time" like it always was whenever they went back to Central. He sat down at one of the brown wooden chairs and slowly picked at a slice of bread. Toushirou glanced over at his sister, who was stuffing her face and let out a sigh, shaking his head. "Slow down, you might choke to death." He said, unable ot help the tone of irritation in his voice, not from his sister, but from the rain. Just because he didn't see it didn't mean he would be okay with it being there. "Hmph! I'd rather die from eating then anything else. And you know that." Enki replied, ignoring him, who was probably still pretty cinical about the whole "State Alchemist" thing and the military.

Retta continued to stumble to HQ. She came to the big steps in front of it, leaving her face with a relieved expression. She thought that she had been further away, when really she wasn’t more then a block away. It made her think, it really must have been a long time ago sense she was at Central.

Sighing again, she slowly started to make her way up to the huge doors that awaited her. The guards that were currently on duty, greeted her and asked what her business was here today. Not bothering to answer, Retta just took out her watch, the one that all state alchemists got. Flashing the little golden pocket watch in front of the guard to show him it, he nodded and wished her a happy rest of the day. The only thought that crossed her mind was, 'As if.'

As she made it down to her room, she had many people greet her. Because she had been her for much of her life already, almost every one knew her around here. Even though she didn’t come around Central very often anymore. Finally reaching her room, she opened the door. While walking she noticed a note on her pillow. Flopping down on her stomach, on the bed, she picked up the note and unfolded it, then read carefully.

Machika was sitting at the inn she stummbled across when she was walking through town. Holding out her pale arm she stopped a person walking in front of her. Holding on to the persons arm she could smell the stench of wine on him. She felt him staring at her, she could'nt see him, but she knew he was looking.
"Hey, could i get a glass of hot tea. Make it steaming alright?" she asked trying to make her voice sound nice since the man probably already felt weird.
"Sure." he answerd yanking her hand away from him.
A smile of amusment passed across Machikas face as she ran her fingers through the violet hair she had.
A loud clank disturbed her thoughts, the sound of the hot cup being put on the table. Reaching out to get the cup she felt the man had put it on a napkin. How thoughtfull she smirked.

[[Ritsu's a scary kid, woot!]]

The officer besides Ritsu walked down a long corridor towards a door at the end of the hall. " Where are we going?" asked Ritsu, nervous but curious at the same time. " To ask Colonel Mustang for advice," he relied kindly. Ritsu stopped in mind step his face hardened and began to resemble that of a cruel child with only bad thoughts. Pure hatred spread through his body his eyes narrowing into a look of disgust. " No thank-you then," he muttered harshly. "Wah, what? Why not?" he asked placing his large hand on Ritsuko's shoulder. " He took someone from me," he whispered quietly. "Your girlfriend? He does that a lot. No need to be that upset though. You look as though you'd want to kill him or something," he chuckled rubbing the back of his head. Ritsu's eyes narrowed even more. " I wouldn't care so much for such a pointless thing as a girlfriend. " he said his voice low, sounding unlike his normal tone. The sweet childish voice seemed as though is vanished into thin air. Not only that his while personality seemed to change as though some demon had taken control of the small child. Ritsu turned himself back towards the entrance. The man dashed quickly to his side, placing a hand on his shoulder again. "During the war?" he asked kindly. Ritsu pushed the hand away. " What are you, stupid? War does not excuse any actions. Only fools stand in line excited and ready to kill there own kind," he said lowly.

With that Ritsu walked out of central, leaving the officer truly confused. Much faster then before he quickly jumped down the steps. He still seemed angry, but his childishness began to return, little by little. He quickened his pace walking into a rather large inn. walking towards the food area he noticed the same two from before. He grumbled disgustedly under his breath then walked to sit besides another girl. “ She’s blind?” he thought. He leaned over to tap her on the shoulder but his arm bumped her drink. Quickly jumping from his own seat the liquid spewed all over the poor girl. “Gah, I’m so sorry,” he yelled his shy klutzy self returning. he smiled then grabbed napkin and began to wipe the tables an then the girl’s arm. The sudden incident had awakened him from his hateful slumber. Shaking his head he forgot about being mad and desperately tried to help the girl. He leaned toward her then smiled. Although she could not see him he could see her and he found her kind of attractive. “Hey,” he said. He quickly let his book drop onto the counter then smiled.

“Hey I’m really sorry about that,” he muttered again. “Gomen Gomen, “ he said. He smiled again over towards her. She was really cute, well at least he thought so. “Here I’ll buy you another one. Hey! Get her another one on me ‘kay?” he yelled, almost rudely. He sat beside the girl. He couldn’t read her expression and wasn’t sure if she was angry or not. “ Into alchemy?” he asked, trying to change the subject. He kept his eyes affixed on her. There was something,...interesting that drew him in. He rarely liked girl, in fact hadn’t he just said so? Maybe he didn’t like her then. Was it the blindfolds...sympathy? He swallowed hard. He wasn’t the type, right. He wasn’t the kind to get all sympathetic and sensitive. He only cared for two people anyways and they were both gone. That was it though, wasn’t it. He needed someone to rely on. Now it was just finding someone to lay his problems on. Anyone would do, right? That’s was why he was so interested.

((I'm scar! ^^ let's just pretend that amarine found the boomhappy freak otay?))

A tall, shady figure walked down the roads of Central, looking tired and weary. On his back lay a small figure, coughing and whining. The man glared quietly at the people rushing past, as if daring them to think he was dangerous.
"We just have to find the hospital Amarine, don't worry." he said gruffily. The girl coughed again and moaned, her head aching.

Step by step, heart to heart, left right left
We all fall down like toy soldiers
Bit by bit, torn apart, we never win
But the battle wages on for toy soldiers

The female sighed as she stood up, the rain matting her hair down, her bangs especially against her face as the cool feeling ran down her face, mixing with her tears to make it seem as if she wasn't even crying anymore. "I suppose I'll have to find a place to stay.." She stated softly, looking around. "But..where?" She muttered, knowing it was going to be something hard to find to do. Oh well. She'd have to find something, or otherwise she'd get terribly sick and die of a disease. That was not how she wanted to end her life..no. She had to get the military back for what the hell they did. Yes, she was young, but she didn't care, she would cause damage to the military. "Damn them..thinking of only themselves, not caring if anyone is dieing, killing everyone themeslves.." She stated, her sweet side having disappeared as she thought of everything, of how she lost her family, her loving family to where she was the last one left of anyone. She looked up as she looked around, wondering where there might be an inn. Hopfully somewhere close, for the young girl didn't want to have to run around the whole city and try and find one, and there was no way in hell that she was going to ask the Military for a room just for the night. Yeah right, her staying in the same building as those backstabbing people..she didn't think so. "I need to hurry.." She stated, soon picking up her pace from a walk to a jog, her hair bouncing up and down, hitting her back, which started to get annoying after a while of jogging.

Her clothes were starting to get drenched, which wasn't good since she had light colors on for a shirt. At least no one would see through her white shirt thanks to the light blue vest she had on. The skirt though, that was black, wihch was good, even though it was short and was sticking to her legs, inching its way up her thigh as she always had to pull it down almost exactly after every stride. Her gray oculars peered through her gray mattered bangs, as she soon felt a sneeze coming. "Oh great..I'm already getting sick.." She stated, soon sneezing. Another sneeze soon came as she sniffed. "Er.." Was all she said as she soon blinked, slowing her rund own to a fast walk, then to a stop. "What am I thinking..I don't even have enough money to pay for a stay for at least one night, let alone for even a meal there..I might just have to ask those damn dogs if I could sleep in the kenel tonight.." She stated, narrowing her eyes in the direction of Central's main building where all the military was. Damn..she was going to regret this as she turned around and started to head back. She soon blinked, closing her eyes after it for her eyes were starting to burn from the rain water hitting it directly. How nice..even her eyes were giving out on her, and her body was feeling a bit weaker then it normally had been. Of course, that was when she felt herself bump into someone, soon opening her eyes as she stumbled back, it being a military officer who seemed to be of a high rank. A Second Lieutenant..she didn't know how high that was, but she knew she was above others.

Black hair down completely as the rain fell upon her head, gray eyes looking in between the strands of the bangs that were drenched down as she moved a hand to swipe them to the side so she could see. A blue military outfit upon the woman's body to show she was in the military. Upon her shoulders was a clothe of a certain design, the mark showing that she was indeed a second lieutenant, and proud of it. Her face was pale, but it really didn't matter to her. Her facial features showed on emotion at all, which was just her perosnality..she showed nothing, gave nothing. She always had believed that emotions got in the way of everything. There were only a few select times she'd show emotion, and that was in desperate times of life and death of her commrades, but not herself. If thought that if she showed fear, they would find it more enjoyable to kill her, while if she didn't..who would care. She soon blinked, being bumped into as she looked down to see a fourteen year old girl as she tilted her head. "Why are you out here? It's raining.." She stated softly in a monotype voice, finding it crazy that the girl wasn't home with her family or friends. Maybe the girl didn't have a family or anything of the sort. "Here..come with me to Central Headquarters and I'll allow you a dorm for the night..how does that sound?" Her voice stated, it still harnessing the monotype vibe as she awaited the young girls answer to her question.

That was never my object for someone to get killed
Why would I wanna destroy something I helped build
It wasn't my intentions, my intentions was good
I went through my whole career without ever mentionin' ...

The note was confusing, but it told her that she was being pared up with someone else. This made Retta slightly angry, she had never before needed to be with some one. It was useless and that would just slow her down.
She began to get even more agitated as she though about it. It was as if they thought she wasn’t good enough by her self. Was it because she was one of the very few female state alchemists? No, not even Roy Mustang was that sexist.
Rising Retta looked at the door, with a solemn yet angry frown set upon her face. Despite the pain in her ankle, and the tiredness that hung over her like a cloud of bricks, she needed this dealt with.
With that, she exited her room, tossing some of her lose pieces of hair behind her ear.

Machika jumped up as the hot drink spilled all over her arm, twitching in pain as it ran down her arm and onto her leg. Out of instinct she almost struck at the boy but the sound of his apologetic voice made her stop and think. This is not like everyone else she thought. He actually stopped to apologize. Not rather angry as she thought she should be for people spilling drinks on her she returned a smile, as though she felt one being given to her.
“Its alright don’t worry.” She said her face showing that she accepted his apology and wanted to meet him. Most people she met tried to take advantage of her being blind, by leading her off somewhere or taking something that was hers, luckily she was in a public place and to be honest didn’t expect him to do anything to her.
Holding out her hand directly in front of his she smiled once more and asked him his name. “People call me Machika.” She mentioned before even getting his name. As she took his hand into hers she could feel the warm skin of this boy touch her cold ones. He must have been angry before, his skin feels to hot to be normal. She on the other hand had just been sitting there, almost waiting for something entertaining to happen to her. Holding on to the welcoming hand a little to long she pulled away, blushing beneath her violet eye covering. She wished she could see what he looked like, maybe one day he’d let her touch his face so she could imagine better.
Feeling his stare on her face she took the drink from the waiter before he even set it on the table.
“Thank you for that.” She looked back at him.

Toushirou continued to poke at his piece of bread with a fork as he porpped his left elbow up on the edge of the little wooden table, his fingers curled up in a fist, knuckles pressed against his cheek. His aqua blue eyes stared at his sister blankly. A tired expression sat on his face and like everytime they went bac,k to Central, he was moody. At first, he didn't even want to return, not unless they had enough to buy back their Father's house but Enki had insisted on returning every six months and threatened that she'd just go alone if he didn't want to come. He didn't believe her and said she'd be too scared to do it, five months after they first left Central. A week after that, Toushirou woke up in the morning of the inn they were staying at to find his sister missing with a note that was barely readable, since Enki had the worst penmanship immaginable, but it had said that she was going back to Central and she'd be back in a few days. Quickly, he had went to chase after her and luckily he found her not too far down the road eating. After that, he had finally agreed to going back to visit Central, which made Enki extremly happy. "You're wasting food!" Enki yelled, snatching the piece of bread away from Toushirou and knocking him out of his thoughts.

"But I'll give it back if you're really gonna eat it." Slowly, she handed the piece of bread back over to him and giving him a warning glace before going back to her food. Toushirou took the piece and placecd it on his plate. Hearing the wind chimes that sounded everytime hte main doors were open, he looked over his shoulder. A girl with violet red hair walk in and then seconds later, the white haired kid that he saw ealier at headquarters. He mumbled a few things under his breath as he turned back to stare at his plate, that was until he felt someone smack him hard across the back. "Ooi, so how's the moeny comin' along? Think you saved up enough?" There was no way they could have even earned enough moeny to have bought the house back. It had only been a few years afterall and not many people were interested in hiring little kids. Before Toushirou could reply, the innkeeper had begun talking about as he took a seat across to him. "How's the food? It's not bad is it? You're not eating any. Enki seems to like it." He said, indicating to the dark-haired girl who didn't even seem to notice what was going on. "You know, as a li'l kid, you used to love food." A distant look crossed the innkeeper's face but it was gone as quickly as it had come.

Enki finally looked up from her food and wiped her mouth on a clean white napkin. "How's business lately?" She asked, trying to create some sort of conversation. The innkeeper chuckled at her question for some unknown reason and scratched the top of his head, lookig around the little lounge. "Not as great as it used to be, ye know. Used to have to turn people away because there were no more rooms avaliable. But once in a while we get a big group and that keeps this place going." Toushirou stuffed the piece of bread into his mouth, obviously getting moodier by the second. He hated the idea of getting to keep a room for themselves at the inn without paying, not to mention thye got free meals. It was like the innkeeper was pitying them because they were kids without much money, even though Toushirou new he was doing it because he was like family to them. But to Toushirou, it was still a sign of weakness and e hated every part of it. The total amount of money they owed the innkeeper was probably enough to get the inn extended, especially since Enki ate so much. The price for food alone was enough to rent a room for a few nights.
