He nodded, then sighed. He looked around. Where was he allowed to sleep? He didn't know. He shrugged, and decided to walk over to the bookcase. He wasn't very well at reading, but he could try. He decided to pick one of the books, unable to determine which was better. THe one he pulled out was named 'Crystal Roses'. Quite an interesting title. Taking his spot at the wall, he opened the cover slowly, and began to read. Destiny awaits you... Destruction is afoot... Join the Zephyr Knights Army!

Carrie pulled some vegetables and stew meat out of the fridge, and began preparing them. When she was done, she put it all in large pot with some beefstock, and set it on to cook. She then walked over to the living room, and looked around to see what needed cleaning. Seeing nothing, she grabbed the timer for the stew, and walked outside and sat on the swing on the porch and closed her eyes to rest them for a bit.

As he continued to read the book, apparently the first set of this trilogy was about two men named Eracles, and Kazage. They were interesting, the sopul twins that controlled light and darkness, one 'evil', and the other 'pure'. It was like a duo, where they fought against someone named Kaine, apparently the brother of Kazage. It was quite engrossing. [- ------------ - ------------ -]

Carrie sat on the swing, listening to the wind for a while, when she realized she hadn't set the table. She set the table, while mumbling to herself. "I wonder if Sin likes stew... I probably should of asked... I wonder what else I should serve..." She went into the kitchen and got a loaf of bread out of the keeper, and sliced half of it into slices, then she got the butter and jam and set that on the table as well with the rest of the plates and silverware. Then she checked the stew, and having still plenty of time, she decided to bake some choclate chip cookies. "That way, when he's done with dinner, he can have warm cookies and icecream for dessert." Carrie smiled at her ingeniousness, and by the time the cookies were done, so was the stew. She got the cookies out of the oven and set them out to cool down some, ladled the stew into bowls, and poured them each a glass of milk. After setting all of it on the table, she walked up the stairs to get Sin, and found him reading in the same spot she left him. He seemed to be pretty interested in the book, so she quietly walked over to him, and gently tapped him on the shoulder. "Sin, would you like me to put your dinner in the microwave so you could eat it later? Or would you like to eat now? It's ready whenever you are."

"I'll eat now if you would like me to." Atra spoke, as he looked up from his book. Apparently, he was a quick reader, somehow already at the hundred or so pages. He was quite hungry, but he was taught that the servants ate later than the mistresses and masters. But of course. She was different. And his stomache was practically rumbling. He wondered what they had to eat, and remembered she mentioned something about stew, a meal he remembered, and made. It made such an exquisite aroma, but he had never tasted only, the main things he ate cold, lumpy gruel, with pills and water, with stale bread. Criminals ate better food than hmi. Carrie walked to the stairs, and gestured him to follow, and chatted as they walked down the stairs. "I hope you like it... I used to cook alot for the other ralliers... It was fun, it's one of the things I miss, cooking for other people." By then they had made it the table, Carrie gestured for him to take his seat. "Eat up, there's more stew in the kitchen, just speak up if you want anything."

Atra nodded, and stood next tot he chair, looking at her, as if expecting soemthing. Then the remembered that she didn't know. "On the occasion a servant or slave was to eat at the table of a superior, they would wait until the superiors sit first." he spoke clearly and rigidly, exhaling gently as he finished. It was quite true. And he wouldn't break any of the laws, until he was told to. It was the way he was brought up. [- Seven Nation Army - White Stripes -]

Carrie looked at Sin for a second, sighed, and sat down. " You're kinda odd, I don't know why you keep thinking I'm a superior... My mom used to say everyone was equal." She once again gestured for him to sit down.

"Old habits died hard." he sighed. He decided to sit down, frowning, as he looked at her. "I've been taught everything for years. It takes a while to get out of your system, I think." Not wanting to displease her, he decided to take a spoonful of soup, and took a sip of it, coughing as he tried to swllow it forgetting to cool it down. "Ahh ahh! Hot!" [- None - None -]

"Ah, Are you ok?!?!" Carrie ammediatly stood up and picked up his glass of milk and handed it to him. "Here, drink this, it'll help... I'm extremely sorry, I should have warned you it was hot" Carrie bowed her head in apology.

He eagerly drunk down the milk, gasping, as he leaned back in his chair, his mouth hanging open. "It is I who should be sorry..." he murmured, as he closed his eyes. "I forgot that I am used to cold food by now." [- - -]

"Are you sure your ok?" She asked with a worried look, then got up and went to the kitchen, and came back with the jug of milk and refilled his glass, and went and put the milk away and sat down once again. . "Umm... I'm gonna ask you a question, but you don't have to answer it" she looked down at her lap and started twisting her napkin. "Were you... always a slave, as in born into it?... Umm.... you don't have to answer if you don't want to."

He frowned at the question, and looked down. "No..." he murmured, as he looked at the bowl of warm soup with his glittering blue eyes, all the more shining from the tears slowly building up, threatening to overflow, from the years of abuse that he had always had. "When I was much younger... I forgot when... I used to have a life like you, only better... Then my parents died, and I lost it all..." [- - -]

Carrie got up and walked over to Sin, and hugged him around the shoulders from behind. "If you don't want to say anything more, you don't have to... I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have asked... Are you going to be ok?"

He was taught never to lie, and this was one of them. Was he going to be alright? No. She doubted he would ever be. But he still didn't know. "I don't know." he spoke gently, as he shrugged her hands off of him, shivering. "I don't think so." It was his life. His childhood. It was women, that had taken it away, and he could never take it back. Once it was taken, it could never be regained. A shame, really. [- Try Honesty - Billy Talent -]
