For example, in the tie-tying scene, we have to remember that Hokuto (from Tokyo Babylon) did the same thing for Subaru.

Although I have to say... the scene with Kamui and Subaru in the hospital looks strangely familiar (hint: TB!)

stare That because Hokuto and Subaru ARE brother and sister. And yes, the scene where Kamui and Subaru are in the hospital is the exact same scene of Seishirou and Subaru.

Actually I would have to disagree a little about the tie tieing scene with Subaru and Kamui

The "tying the tie scene" (see left) seemed entirely irrelevant to the plot. Basically Kamui decided to get out of bed and start attending classes, but he was having some problems putting on his tie since he had not recovered completely from his injuries yet. Subaru, whom CLAMP seemed to be suggesting that he was hovering about the boy pretty regularly, took over the tie from Kamui without saying a word and proceeded to tie it for him. This particular panel was played out over 3/4 of a page, with only white space around the two so that the reader's attention is entirely focused on them. Is there more to be read from this scene?

Several Seishirou/Subaru supporters argued that this scene was only to show Subaru's brotherly affections for Kamui. He was tying Kamui's tie just like his sister, Hokuto, used to do it for him. I beg to differ. Hokuto never stood so close to her twin while tying his tie. There are many ways to put a brotherly spin on their relationship but that scene suggests way more. Fan service then? Perhaps. But if CLAMP really wants to mess with our minds, they could easily do it with plenty of Subaru/Kamui illustrations (a rare commodity at the moment).

neutral good point, and I do agree that Kamui and Subaru share a very close relationship (possibly closer than Hokuto and Subaru's). I also feel that they have such a strong bond because they're going through/have gone through pretty similar situations. But my argument is that it's possible to be extremely close to someone without getting romantically involved, and most of the time, any romantic feelings Kamui may have don't seem to be returned by Subaru. I think Subaru doesn't look at Kamui as a lover at all.

I wanted to post some more things I found online about how subaru and kamui have touching moments together and how they might be a good couple for each other.

X9
Subaru dived into Kamui's semi-conscious mind at the risk to his own life. When Kamui finally decided to wake up and face his destiny, the two embraced each other in the dreamscape. Then, just after Kamui fluttered his gorgeous lashes and opened his eyes in the real world, Subaru smiled (perhaps for the first time in X) and collapsed into the boy's arms from exhaustion. Kamui continued to hug him while whispering words of thank you.

The significance of the embrace must be held in light of Kamui's reaction to the other people who have ever tried to touch him. Be it Fuuma, Sorata, Keiichi or even Kotori, Kamui almost always either flinched away or turned instantly stiff at their touch/embrace. Subaru, on the other hand, was an absolute stranger to him. Yet, Kamui felt immediately drawn to the beautiful onmyouji. Subaru, himself, was also not a person open to touch. Even in Tokyo Babylon, he was never entirely comfortable with any open displays of affection. He would blushed furiously and ran, rather than willingly allow Seishirou to embrace him, much to Hokuto's consternation. Thus the embrace between Subaru and Kamui was natural and willing, and hence beautiful.

Volume11: This one was also a volume I enjoyed Here is the famous tuition scene under the gazebo within CLAMP campus. Kamui rushed anxiously towards the gazebo and then he apologised profusely to Subaru for being late. When Kamui mentioned about his lack of proper schooling, he apologised embarrassedly to Subaru, an utterly unnecessary reaction. Perhaps he a little self-conscious about Subaru's opinion, and did not wish Subaru to think negatively of him. A few moments later, he meekly commented about Subaru's smoking. Initially, Subaru mistook his message and tried to assure Kamui that smoking would not affect his powers and would, in fact, strengthen it. However, Kamui repeated his request that Subaru stop smoking because it was bad for Subaru's health. It was obvious that Kamui cared for Subaru's well-being.

Volume12: Dont get me wrong I hate when Subaru gets hurt but their are two reasons why I like this volume here is the reasons why from this website I like. In the "operating room scene", Subaru was being rushed to the operating room after being seriously injured by Fuuma. Kamui was following closely in tears as he cried out Subaru's name repeatedly. Despite his obvious pain, Subaru got up from his stretcher to embrace Kamui, comforting the boy and telling him that it was not his fault. Nonetheless the pain proved too much and he collapsed into Kamui's arms. As Subaru was wheeled into the room, Kamui stood outside the door, calling out Subaru's name again with tears streaming down his cheeks. This particular panel was reminiscent of Subaru's reaction when Seishirou was wheeled into the operating room after losing his eye. Then we have the "cute bedside scene 1". Sorata and Arashi entered Subaru's wards, and were stunned to see Kamui holding on dearly to the sleeping Subaru's hand. Later Subaru awoke and Kamui felt guilty all again. Sorata managed to force Kamui out of the room temporarily on the pretext of hunting a vase to put Arashi's flowers. With Arashi and Kamui away, Subaru begged Sorata to take care of Kamui and bring the boy home to rest. When Kamui returned, Sorata did as told and tried to drag Kamui home. But Kamui was unwilling to leave Subaru's side. Subaru told the boy that it was best that he got some rest. Hearing this, Kamui became afraid and, in a halting voice, asked Subaru if he could come and visit him again. Subaru smiled and touched the boy's face. Kamui, thus assured that Subaru was not sending him back out of anger, held on to that hand until Sorata pulled him out of the room.

Whether Kamui was aware of it or not, he was echoing Subaru's own feelings during the time Seishirou was hurt. In that episode of Tokyo Babylon, just before the Bet ended, Subaru stood outside Seishirou's room and analysed his own feelings. He realised that he was crying so badly outside the operating room because he was afraid that Seishirou would be angry with him, that Seishirou would not want to see him anymore, and that Seishirou would hate him. He also realised that he had these fears because Seishirou was now "special" to him. Similarly, Kamui was afraid that Subaru would not want to see him again and that Subaru might hate him. Hence, by the same analogical reasoning, it is not entirely baseless to assume that Subaru was now "special" to Kamui.

Like the "touching bedside scene" in X14, it was not the words but the interaction between the two that catches one's attention. While the conversation was again focused on wishes, especially with the final revelation of Subaru's true wish, Subaru's and Kamui's hands were more focused on comforting each other. For example, Kamui was kneeling on the floor and resting his head on Subaru's knees. And when Subaru explained about the Sakurazukamori star on the back of his hands, Kamui's hands were holding onto his. At the same time, Subaru was comforting Kamui through tender caresses on the boy's face. Finally, when Subaru suggested that Kamui should go and get some sleep, we see the two of them holding onto each other's hand, not wanting to let go.

Even though, Subaru disappeared after the conversation, the scene was still significant with regards to their relationship. Besides the tender touches mentioned above, it is critical to note that Subaru chose to leave after talking to Kamui, and not before. It is clear that Subaru has secretly decided to leave the Dragons of Heaven after having killed Seishirou. Nevertheless, a part of him must have realised the impact of such an action on Kamui, and he wanted to comfort the boy before he did so. He did not want Kamui to feel guilty for something that was not his fault. In a significant way (by Subaru's standards), he does care for Kamui.

Rahli
I'm probably one of the only people here who does not believe in SxS, FxK, SxK pairings. I see the person as an individual and not as a pairing. Of course I realize there are relationships between them all but I pose this question honestly and truthfully: Can't you love your best friend and not want to kiss them and have sex with them (particularly if your best friend is the same gender)? Haven't you ever had to sleep in the same bed? Does that mean you want to have sex with them? Not always (please, we don't want to know if the answer is yes and the other person doesn't know ><) but most of the time, the answer is no. I love my best friend and I've slept in the same bed wiht her but I don't love her like that. There's many types of love and sometimes I feel like people forget that.

There's also the fact that this is fantasy and not reality but ^^ I like my characters created from someone elses mind ^^6...

Of course realize that CLAMP rarely solidifies sexual relationships beyond innuendos....

But my point of view is don't force the sexual issue. There's plenty of relationship development and that in itself should be good enough. Keep the character true to themselves. Not everything in life should be about sexual relationships.

I dislike yaoi/shonen-ai pairings but honestly I've long since given up trying to change someone's point of view. I just prefer to look at how I would act in their situations.

I've thought long and hard about the whole issue. I've come to the conclusion that if the creator does not outrightly say "This male character loves this male character" then I shouldn't worry about it.

Again, this is my point of view. I'm not saying yaoi/shonen-ai fans can't think what they want, I'm simply saying I see things differently. ^^

You, uh..DO know that S/S is 110% undeniable canon, right?
