Dave But, but... When I lived with a family in Sevilla for a week, in the morning the mother would always be like "Hola, bueno' día'!" confused And my sevillana Spanish Composition teacher tends to drop her s's sometimes. Not all the time, but fairly often. Maybe you do drop the s's and you just don't realize you're doing it. xd EDIT: Ooohh, wait, wait, are the Castillian and Andalucian dialects two different things? sweatdrop In Sevilla, of course we drop the s ;3 most people do anyway xP because most people here speak the andalusian "modalidad lingüística" (dialect xD) andd~~
...see, to us here Castilian is the Spanish spoken in Spain. I've been taught that we should call "Castilian" the Spanish spoken -inside- Spain and "Spanish" the language in general orr spoken outside of Spain (i.e, Mexico) and, eh...see, people from..um..Madrid...Cataluña..Aragón..Castilla..The Basque Country[/random regions] speak~~ like "proper" Castillian..saying the "full" words with the s and all. Most people in Andalucía don't, though n3n I'll make that clear in the Andalusian thread anyways. <_< >_> but umm...yeah. xD

Morphine Umm...actually, people who speak -Castilian- NEVER drop the s[/fact] xD;
Err...a story! 8D
This year in our trip to Ireland there were two groups of Spanish students in our school. One of Basques, one of Sevillians.
It was rather funny, we had fun mocking the other's accents~ And at one point of time, most of the sevillians had stopped dropping the s at the end of the words..yeah and I was all "I want to speak normally again! I swear I can't stop saying the s! D:" and one girl was all "I think this accent is really cute! =D"
That's hilarious! Do people from the Basque region speak Spanish as well?

That was so rude~ That kind of people...if you ask them "oh, you're from Spain?" they'll reply "no, I'm from the Basque Country." .-_.-
There are foolish people everywhere~ >3<

Cool, my spanish teacher's from spain. The most thing I've noticed is that the only time she uses an "s" sound is if the word is spelled with an "s." I haven't paid attention to whether she chops off "s" at the end of sentences.

Here in Mexico, you know when someone is Spaniard immediately from their Castillian. It's weirdo. Intonation is bizarre, their voices are bizarre, they say "grathias" instead of "grasias", they say "vosotros" instead of "ustedes", and they have their weirdo phrases like "guay" (which is awfully close to the Mexican "wey") and "mola mogollón" ("it rocks").
I find them kinda funny, and in fact I've been recently liking it from that Spaniard sitcom a friend of mine always watches biggrin
