I just noticed the bit about the Inu-Yasha-shaped teething cookies. That's hilarious. I got the best mental picture of that.

AZ 2004.....I just turned 13, and I only came for Sunday. The year after I came to AZ for all three days, and it was much better planned (but I had less fun...maybe it was *too* planned the second time, and I wasn't as amazed **sigh**)

Yeah, that can happen. I think the higher your expectations for the con are the less likely you are to have fun. They actually brought that up in a panel on fan psychology that I went to at Anime USA. Having been going to cons for about 6 years now, there does seem to be some truth to that.

I agree. ^_^ I usually have the most fun just sort of wandering around the video rooms, dealer's room and checking things out that seem interesting. Although awesome cosplay always amazes me since I can't sew. sweatdrop

I was 16, I think.
And I had my birthday Con Weekend, so, 17, too, if I'm not mistaken. I had to check my old badges to be sure of the year. 3nodding
I love me some AZ. It's the only con I can get to...

AZ is cool. I've been to a few other cons, but AZ is still my favorite. ^^ It's the one we keep going back to year after year.

lol. yeah the closeness definitely helps as does the fact that it's not nearly as expensive as some other cons like Otakon.

Just staying at a hotel there kills your money. I'd like to go back sometime, but I'm not sure when. *shrugs*
I'm still working on that Japan trip, and I'll probably go to Finland in September. 3nodding

Az 2006 was my first convention ever! I'm 19
Thankfully, now I know where the convention is, I won't need to get a hotel next year. It's less then 10 minutes from where I live and I really only needed a place to shower since I didn't sleep. I can do that at home

I had it done by one of the ladies on the artist row at the con 3nodding My first night, a Greed cosplayer asked me out. I had so much fun on our date, the next day I comissioned some art. I was dressed as Hawkeye so I thought it would be fitting. My friends made jokes that I'd go to the convention and come home with a boyfriend...They didn't think I really would
