David Tennant turns up in some of them!! I know he plays Galanar in Dalek Empire III, Col Brimmicombe Wood in Sympathy for the Devil and Time Lord 2 in Exile...

As to ones I've heard, I've got Red Dawn (5th Doctor and Peri) and The Genocide Machine (7th Doctor and Ace).

I'm afraid I have never gotten into the radio series. They are not quite canonical, and are not available in the USA - not as far as I know.

Feel free to discuss any Doctor Who audio work here, whether it's Big Finish or BBC-produced. Missing Episode audio CDs and soundtracks also fall into this category.

I would if I had heard any.

I can highly recommend the audiobook version of The Feast Of The Drowned, read by David Tennant. I've also got half of The Stone Rose and I'm importing it into iTunes as I type! The Radio Times are giving copies away, and although I very rarely get that listings magazine, I will next week as well so I get the second half...

I listened to all the UNIT audios with Tennant as Col. Brimmicombe. He's really nasty. I shall say no more - but I was impressed by his ability to play someone like that so well.

I haven't heard many 5th/6th audios but the 7th and 8th ones where they continue on (from the end of the 7th Doctor's era and from the end of the TV movie) I have listened to a lot of and they are both pretty good. I'd say the 7th one has been slightly better just because of the really great historical drama one The Settling but I enjoy both. The companions are also the best.

I haven't heard any, but let's face it, David is a brilliant actor so it doesn't surprise me that he puts in a great performance.

If anybody out there likes the 6th Doctor, Colin Baker, I really recommend his audio plays. They're brilliant! whee
I've heard The Reaping, a Big Finish Audio Play, a shop nearby me sells loads of the Doctor Who audio plays :3 They're great.
I can't help but wish Tom baker had gotten involved in the Audio Plays, his voice is fantastic...but he wants nothing to do with Doctor Who now. cry

Meh, Oh well...I can cope with ONE Baker <:3

I want them to bring back Benton in the U.N.I.T. audios. I was never much of a fan of Mike Yates but Benton is so likeable.

*gasp* Slander.

Oh, to throw my thoughts into the mix, yes, I want more U.N.I.T. audios, too. Though Loup-Garoux was pretty good.

Couldn't agree more. In fact I had a little rant about just that on the Big Finish thread also on this page. smile

I don't know if anyone's had a chance to hear 100 yet, but there's a heartbreakingly metafictional scene where the Sixth Doctor talks about how he'd once thought his incarnation would be a short one, but that he was glad to have had extra time in which to grow and become truly himself.

gonk WANNIT!!

You really do.

Been a good couple of months for Sixth Doctor audios as The Wishing Beast/The Vanity Box was rather tasty too.

They do over here. twisted
(In the book shops anyway)

Even for our transatlantic chums, it's still pretty easy to order them from the Big Finish website. But of course, the big problem is...

OnmeiRyoushi
They're pretty expensive though, so I don't get them often >.>

...with exchange rates being such that two of your US dollars buys less than one of our UK pounds then buying and shipping these things can be a huge gamble.

The gamble being that some of them are so painfully, painfully bad that you'll want to pour cement into your ears to make the pain stop. Wheras as others (like, say The Holy Terror or Flip-Flop) are comfortably as good as the best of the TV show or the novel ranges.

It's quite a risk to take if you've not got solid recomendations that you trust.
