Hmm... I think Tael did have the chance to go with Link and Tatl, but then what of the poor Skull Kid? Even though the Skull Kid was being a jerk, it doesn't mean you hve to be a jerk back, so maybe Tael was being loyal and felt it would be best for the Skull Kid if he stayed with him, because if Tael ditched the Skull Kid, the Skull Kid wouldn't have any friends left. The Skull Kid was sort like in a manic/depressed mode, and if his last friend was taken away.... tink of what horrors the Skull Kid could have done. -shivers-

He doesn't lose Tatl for a simple reason, they go back in time to the begining of the 3 days. At that exact time Tatl was with Link and the mask sales man whereas the skull kid and Tael had runaway. The only 3 people who remember what happened when he does go back are Link, Tatl and the mask salesman, therefore Tael wouldn't remember how mean Skullkid was to him ontop of the tower so would want to stay with him for those 3 days. (Again...) He doesn't lose all his disposable items because he never got them in the first place.

I guess the masks stay with you because each mask is a part of someone's soul and is forever linked to Link or sometihng like that. That's the only thing that doesn't make sence. The fact he keeps the masks and the hearts. And that whole bank thing is a tad confussing...
