Buckets can be cool... Unless of course, they're leaky, in which case, not so fun.
But would you all like to learn a fun fact about Mongols? If not, that's unfortunate, because I'm going to continue anyway:
Mongols, when traveling in their hordes, would have around 15 extra horses each, and could travel for two days and two nights, without stopping except to change horses. How did they sustain themselves, you might ask? By drinking the blood from their horse's neck, while they were riding. Then they would change horses, and that equine would get a rest for 15 days or so, until its turn came around to be ridden and bled again. So... This is just one more bit of evidence that Mongols were frickin' hardcore. And scary. And a bit nuts.
But hey, you don't get to rule nearly all of the known world without being a little insane, I guess.
And so concludes my fun fact of the day. xd

Hah, no kidding. But nothing drives home the power of the Mongols quite like "losing one's lunch" as you so delicately put it. xp It's good to see that someone else appreciates their... awesomeness. Haha.
Which is why we're on to fun-fact number two about them: Guess what their armor was? It had to be something lightweight, something warm, something strong... Think silk. China was all over that, and the Mongols, due to their badass selves, had bolts and bolts of it being shipped up to them. (Not to mention the fact that they ruled China during the Yuen dynasty anyway, heh.)
So. Anyway. With this simple armor, they'd go riding around on their hordes of horses, and do their badass mounted-archer thing, and inevitably get shot at in return. Back in that day, if you got shot with an arrow, you were pretty much sunk, no matter what you did, because the wound would inevitably get little bits of the leather/wood/iron or whatever you were wearing stuck in the wound, not to mention the nastiness that was already on the arrowhead. Then you'd die of infection (usually within two days or so) which is not a fun way to go.
But the Mongols, with their tremendously cool thick silk shirts would go riding around like madmen, getting stuck full of arrows in the process. The arrow would usually sink in about four inches or so (ouchie, I know), but because of the tensile strength of the silk of their shirts, it would only fold around the arrowhead, not be punctured, so that they could then yank on their shirt and pop the buggers right back out. And they were thusly protected from the majority of the badness on the arrowhead. How insane is that?
So yeah. Mongols are crazy. And hardcore. And amazing. Heh. Which concludes today's fun Mongol fact. xd

It's a bit disturbing... I'd probably find the notes on this if I looked hard enough- unless I threw them out. I tend to never keep history notes since we never go over anything again ^^;

Why thank you, Dramon! (And sorry for the belated response.) Though, really, I'm hardly the one responsible for such chibi-tastic things, so it's a little awkward for me to be accepting such praise... ninja Oh well. Hahahaha, thank you anyway.
And HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! Again, sorry for the lateness of that. Life calls, as per usual, but I just wanted to drop in to reassure you that we haven't disappeared from here forever. We're just a little otherwise occupied. Anyway. I forgot what else I had to say...
...I'm such an old woman, sheesh...
