I am pretty sure Desmond is still alive. And most definetly Locke and Mr. Eko. I know Desmond has to be alive because I think I saw somewhere that he signed on to do the third season as well. And we also don't know too much about his character yet and it would just be stupid to kill him off after being on only what 3 episodes?

Balderdashjr skyfish Garban skyfish What about the hatch? I hope that the first episode of Season 3 explains what the hell happened in there. Do you think Locke, Eko and Desmond all got blown up?!?!1 Because Locke and Eko were some of my favourite characters neutral All three of the ones in the hatch are alive. But did the hatch get blown up or what? Something's gotta explain why the quarantine sign fell from the sky. Don't worry,they can't kill off those characters -they're TOO big and important.Well,Desmond's probably dead....but still! I think I saw a flash of Locke and Mr. Eko in the sneak peek thing that was on ABC tonight 3nodding I would be so pissed if they did -that would be writer suicide anyways.. They killed off Shannon, she was kind of big, and they killed Ana Lucia and she was kind of big.

I think season 2 ended with a confusing twist, with the others letting Hurly go and the whole violet sky thing.And how charlie just walked away with nothing but a cut and bloen ears.
I think that the hatch compleatly imploded and then as a reaction any part f it that was out in the open got blasted away.(hatch door landin on beach camp)

I heard there going to just start where they left off in the season finale, sort of explaining some of the things that happened or something like that. Forgive me if I'm wrong. xD

Ugh, I found that episode to be terrible. Not only were the Jack flashbacks pointless, the island part wasn't much better. xp

I liked it. I thought the beginning part was amazing. But it was annoying how it was only Jack, Kate, and Sawyer who they showed. But now that i think about it season 2 premire wasn't that great either.
I found this one to be better than the season 2 premire but it was very slow moving.
I was hoping they would have showed Des, Locke, and Eko.

Yeah i agree.
After the commercail breaks i was like pleaseeeeee have Des on pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
They really shouldnt have made it ALL Jack, Kate, and Sawyer. I mean they should have at least did Charlie, Claire or Sayid, Sun, Jin.

I read several times that the first episode would only be with Jack, Sawyer, and Kate. So I knew what to expect....
So at least I enjoyed it. 'Cept Henry being really Ben. He's just not a Ben....

I also enjoyed Jack's loopy response to Juliet saying she was a repo woman. He was like a drugged up Jack.

The episode was alright, it mainly just raised more questions. I LOVED the beginning when it showed the Others living like in a suburban community, and it was actually the island. So much like the premiere of Season 2!
And -- OMG YES --- We finally have the underwater hatch!! I was so waiting for the underwater hatch ever since Sayid followed that wire on the beach to Rousseau's camp, and the other end of the wire mysteriously went underwater. It totally blows for Jack though, he's all alone while Kate and Sawyer are all cosily caged on land.
Overall, I was satisfied with the episode. Some questions to ponder:
1. WHY were the Others living all civilized and stuff? Why do they want to live permanently on the island?
2. What do the Others WANT with Sawyer, Jack, and Kate? Why do they continue to bother the Losties? How do all the activites they have done (Ethan, stealing Walt, kidnapping Claire, sending Fake Henry Gale, allowing Michael and Walt to be rescued?!) ultimately contribute to their goal?
3. Why did Ben say that the next two weeks of Kate's life are going to be miserable? gonk
5. What are the other Losties up to?
6. Did they at least give Kate some underwear when they told her to put on that dress?
Okay you can ignore that last question, but these are the main things running through my head...
