Oftentimes third-party memory cards cause random data corruption--or dust will--or even overusage of the card. Sometimes it just gets old and has problems reading data. Happened to my old PS1 memory cards all the time.

Ok. easiest way to deal with corrupted data is to 1st, (if u can) get all the songs be 4 the data is corrupted. (best way 2 do this is to use AR or codebreaker) then. go into edit mode. then make edit data of al your favorite songs. then, you nvr lose them because your system data becomes corrupt not your edit data. If your annoyed with losing all the songs, just do wat i said. to play the songs, just go 2 training mode and play them there. hope this helps

Yeah... my Extreme data was corrupted awhile back. It made me and my pants very sad. crying I had, like, EVERYTHING earned up. Maybe not all, but a whole-freaking-lot. I had the one challenge mode unlocked, called... hmm, Trick, I think it is? Where the arrows have all these creepy, crazy effects? Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Anyway, I planned on just stealing some data from a friend of mine, but he went and lost his whole memory card! gonk Oh well... so, I slowly but surely try and earn back all my shtuffs. sweatdrop
I've been told that it will corrupt your data if you turn it off while saving, and that's the only way. I don't remember ever doing that, but maybe some friend of mine did it... or something else happened. Eh, magnetic feilds or soemthing... I dunno. Oh well. I'll live. xd

that happened to me too on my max game. it sucked, i wanted to blame it on my sister. i couldn't figure out the reason. if it were to happen again, i'd be more ticked off cuz i have more songs now. i'll use the manual save advice. biggrin

Don't use auto save... if the data still gets corrupted clean out the memory card and the slot, if the problem persists buy a new card... funny how the same thing happend to me on gta 3 and vice city... but thats another story...

Wait... so why shouldn't you use auto save? Using it may cause Data Corruption, hence the topic of this thread.

well, i mean i used to get corrupted data, but sum how, it stoped. um... i guess (i also use Auto save) well. an easy way to solve this problem is to get the latest Action Replay. it has codes for max, Max2 and Extreme. if u lose anything, just re-get all the songs with the AR.
