Trisaekrobe I think I read this book that talked about how to find familiars, But I forgot what it said because that was about 3 months ago. Does anyone know how? Or even know what Im talking about?

I'm allergic to cats and there's no way my dog is a familiar in any way shape or form. Believe me. It would me cool to have a familiar, but I don't think I'll be getting one any time soon. If at all. *shrug*

Just before I was starting to practise Wicca, my neighbour (which I had a really good relationship with) died. She was into things like Wica too, but diddn't get the change. After her death her cat (mostly black with a little white) started to sleep on our balcony and coming inside whenever the door was open. Now Mioe's living with us and always stays in the same room as me. I use her in my rituals. The funny thing is that when I'm not home Mioe makes sure that no one finds my Wiccan stuff, 'cause my mom really hates me for practising Wicca. So i really believe Mioe is my formiliar!

What if your familiar dies? Does a new one come or are you forever cursed with the memories?

I would think that you could probably get a new one... of course you would always remember the old but it is not a curse you should take joy in the remeberance of the dead, after all they are now in the land of eternal summer and taht is a happy thought.

Cirrus Mystallow Awww what a cute little kitty. Why not ask them if you can take the cat with you. Maybe they wont mind if they dont care for it. I have a cat named Albe, he is more my mums fimiliar than me, he follows her everywhere and wont leave her side when their both in the house and awake lol. [My cat even sleeps on her at night] However when ever I bring out my witch stuff to read or to write on my BOS he finds it funny to come in and sit all over my stuff so I can't read or write and just looks at me with a cute little face lol xd ... thats lucky, my moms familiar died a few weeks ago but she is adjusting to a new one... yes we are a family of wicca

My boyfried's mother gave me a book to read on about witch craft, I looked up fiamiliars, and it also said toads.... It said dogs arn't ideal familiars coz they are their own person...
i have only a dog, and bird and guine-pig... neither of them are my familiars, but im looking, and yeh smile

You know, you dont have to limit yourself to a PHYSICAL Familiar, there are also astral familiars. One of my friend's mothers has a astral wolf familiar, strong pair, strong realation ship. But it's much harder to find a Astral Familiar, hours of meditation to find yours, I asked her and she said it took her five years.
Like alot of people have been saying cat's are theirs...try a bird. My cousin has a cockatoo familiar. Bizarre, not really, this bird will scream when someone that does not know anything gets too close to my cousins items, but like me, it will let me go near it without saying a thing. Thats all I know on it, the story on this was that her cousin did not want the bird because it was scaring her, so she gave it to my cousin Brit. The bird was quite when she held him and never bit her at all... It seems to know about people by looking at them which is strange...it started yelling when her friend came into the room and would not shut up...a week later the two got in the fight and befriended each other. Who ever has found their familiar, I deem them lucky, I'm still looking for mine....but I'm starting to believe my Cat Tikvah has the qualitys of a familiar...

To one with cat named Cricket-I've got a Senegal parrot Cricket and he's a 'kin' familiar as someone put it. Ichi-nara What if your familiar dies? Does a new one come or are you forever cursed with the memories? You can have more than one familiar in a life-time. You can have more than one at once also.

I believed my kitten was my familiar, she was so sweet and she talked too(not joking either), she would cry "Mama, Mama! Can I come in?" she was an outdoor kitten, but on July 4th she was hit by a car and killed....didn't even make it to 1, but I still sense her around...I don't think she will ever leave me...She's mine and will forever be mine, even if I get a new familiar, I think she will stay by my side.

I definatly don't have a familiar. My cat hates me, my dog is my mum's baby and well.. Then I have a hamster, who definatly isn't mine. >_> I want to get a kitten, but my mum doesn't want me to. I've always wanted a pet of my own that I can bond to from a puppy/kitten, instead of them growing up with my mum and becoming obsessive and attatched.
T___T Oh well.
