User ImageRie'Kus, who was toddling through the halls of the Temples as he always did - partway on foot, partway on hands - stopped when he heard strange voices. In all the time he had been here, there were only two voices he had heard - the two Masters' - and these voices didn't sound nearly so old.

And so the tiny boy did what he did best - he sneaked. He never sneaked alone, though, he always had his little mousey friend with him, Fran. Fran was just like he was, small and brown, but he had no doubt that the creature would grow up to be huge and monsterus, and never have anyone squish him because they were bigger and stronger, and at that thought, Rie'Kus grinned. He slipped through the front door and plopped down on the floor, observing the room's new and interesting contents with wide eyes.

"Whoa you?" He glared at them for several moments before slipping his goggles up over his eyes and crossing his arms. "Youra new. I dun like youa."

User ImageAyanna had to raise her hands to her mouth to stifle a giggle when a little boy wandered in and plopped down before declaring he didn't like the new arrivals. He was just about the cutest thing she had ever seen.

"Hello there, my name is Ayanna, what's yours? Do you live here?" She asked after she had the giggle reflex under control. She thought maybe he might be the son of one of the Jedi's or Sith, but she seemed to remember something about it not being encouraged for them to fall in love or get married. Although, it wasn't really neccessary for someone to be married or in love to have a child it was just.. The more regular way of doing things. He surely couldn't be an acolyte or padawan yet, he was so young!

User ImageRie'Kus blinked. Why didn't the new people run in fear from him? He was wearing his goggles, which obviously made him look like a scary superhero swooping in to kill the bad guys..... Plus he had his scary monster, Fran the mouse, with him...

"Yeah, I wive here. All mine."

He glared at her through the goggles, though it was impossible to see it. She seemed nice enough, but that didn't matter. Lots of bad guys seemed nice, or so his tribe had said. Settlers seemed nice, after all, but they were still intruder's, and for that they had to be killed. That was the way of things.

"Whyre you here?" He asked, settling for the basics. And why, he wondered to himself glumly, wasn't he informed.

And so, not knowing what else to do, he pouted.

"It's all yours? Thats awfully impressive." Ayanna commented seriously nodding at him. "I came here to learn to use the force. I'm going to be a Sith."

"Is that mouse yours? Thats awfully neat, all I have is a plant." Ayanna commented with a smile and a nod in the direction of the potted plant after she noticed the mouse the boy had with him.

Actually she thought the boy and the mouse were ridiculously cute, but she didn't think she ought to say that. He seemed to be trying fairly hard to seem tough and she didn't want to insult the little one if she could avoid it.

User ImageAt the other girl's comment, Rie'Kus let his lips split into a grin. Maybe she wasn't so bad after all... besides, anyone who liked Fran had to be a good person.. right?

"Hiws name is Fran, like a frown. He's big and mean, and if youara mean, he'll eat you up like a Kyrat dragon!"

He paused, before deciding to divulge more information.

"I'm Rie'Kus. And itw's not all mine...." he looked off to make sure none of the Master's were hiding behind the doors, "but it wiw be!"

Rie'Kus stood up, brushed his pants off, and stuffed the mouse into a pocket.

"Youra here to learn the fowrce? I think you'll like it."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 03, 2006 12:48 pm

"Well, it's an awfully good thing I'm not mean then! That's very smart of him to look little at first so bad guys will think he's weak, that way when he eats them up he'll take them by surprise!" Aynna said with a grin and a wink.

"And I believe you. I think if you decide to do something and you're serious about it, you'll find a way, no matter what. So eventually I bet you will be running this place!"
It was a bit hard to imagine this little one being in charge of the temples, but she meant what she said, if she could be a Sith, coming from where she did, why couldn't be grow up to be what he wanted to be? And anway, living here he would surely pick up things that others wouldn't. "I think I'll like it too, I certainly hope so anyway!"

"Yup! Nowbudy ever thinks that the little guys are powerful, but they awre. And then they win!" He bounced up and down on the heals of his feet, before taking off his goggles and looking up at her with wide eyes.

"What sorts of fowrce magic have you done? I got sent here becawse I lifted up my Papa's Bantha," he winced. That had not been a good idea, but setting the poor thing down again on top of the cerimonial tent had been even worse. "What did you do?
PostPosted: Thu Aug 03, 2006 1:07 pm

"Heh, nothing as big as that! I've moved little things around, and sometimes I can tell how people are feeling, I can make fish dance too, but I guess that's like where real Jedi and Sith can make people do things just by telling them too. I just thought it was neat seeing all the fish moving together. They usually do anyway, just not often if there are people around." Well, that wasn't quite true, fish had never seemed bothered by Ayanna.

She was actually glad she had left before growing big enough to be able to fish like her brother. She wouldn't have wanted to kill them, she didn't even eat them. She ahd no problem with the people who did, I mean it was how her brother supported them and Kilek ate fish of course, but when they danced for her, when they listened, they were so trusting, so simple, it would have seemed wrong to kill them, to abuse that power. Like cheating really.

She was also smarter than most kids her age and picked up on things like languages much quicker, but since she hadn't had contact with others her age before coming here, where everyone was gifted, she had never really noticed that aspect of the force within herself.

User ImageHe grinned up at her. Rie'kus decided he liked having someone to talk to - usually it was just him, Fran, and the Masters, who were quite dull when meditating. "I bet that was fun. Hey! I bet we have fish hewre too. Maybe we can go out and make them dance someday." He stared at her sneakily and whispered, "I snuck out befower, but there weren't any Banthas, so don't worry about that..." And then, like a flash (or maybe Fran bit him), his eyes widend. "But don't tell the Masters! Or I'll send Fran after you! You wouldn't like that - therwe'd be nothing left but Bantha fodder that they'd have to ship back home." He glared, completely un-menacingly, from his short stature just below the human girl.

"I wouldn't tell, don't worry! I certainly don't want to make you set Fran on me! And yeah, that would be fun. I think you'd like seeing the fish dance." Agreed Ayanna nodding.

Hopefully though they'd have some time off from training so sneaking off wouldn't be necessary. Although really, as long as no one specifically told her she couldn't do something, she saw no reason not to do it. And even if they did, as long as a good reason wasn't supplied she didn't feel you had to listen to it exactly. Most rules were open to interpretation as far as she was concerned. She wasn't bad really, just sometimes she wanted to do what she wanted to do.

User Image"Definatly!" he said, nodding his head. This girl was nice - she even agreed to senak out with him! "I'ma suppose to get big and strong, just like Fran is going to be, and make my tribe at home prouwd. Is that why you're hewre too? To make someone prouwd?"

Rie'Kus stared up at the human girl - she wasn't like the other humans he had met (though it was true that they had all been dead...) and he rather liked her.

"Yes, I suppose I am. My older brother. He looked after me while I was growing up. He always wanted to be able to use the force and be strong. I'd also like to see more of the universe, meet more different species and different people. I had a friend named Kilek, he traveled all over the galaxy when he was younger, I'd like to visit some of the places he told me about someday." Ayanna answered after thinking about it for a moment.

It was funny how people were so similar. They could be completely different, different planets even different races, and yet they still seemed to want the same things. Recognition was a big one. If you were raised fairly happily it might be love or making people proud, if you hadn't been raised so well it might be fear, but recognition was a common theme.

User Image"That would be really neat! I wish I had a browther.... but my papa told me I could have a Bantha when I got home." He smiled in the way only a little child could. "Its not a brother, but it is hairy like one!"

Rie'Kus looked around the room carefully before bitting the inside of this cheek. "Youa hawve to stay in here right? Itws bowring.... " He glared at the grey durasteel walls the Master's had choosen. They intended to promote equality with the color, but Rie'Kus just thought it was dull. "Lets catch buwgs!" At least they were colorful - some of them even had the yellow and brown colorings of the ones back home.

Ayanna had to laugh at the 'hairy like a brother' part. This confirmed her theory that Rei'Kus was probably one of the Sand People. She wasn't positive though, since she didn't know too much about them, some of the colonists on Aaris had lived on Tatooine before taking the opportunity to jump planet. As such her parents had heard gossip from them and turned it into scary stories for her brother, who eventually told them to her. Although in those stories they had been called the Tusked Raiders. She had asked Kilek about them once, to see if they really existed. He had said that they did, although they were called the Tuskan Raiders by most, the Sand People by the more politically correct, and that they often did kill those who wandered into their territory.

She had always figured there was just some misunderstanding, or that the newer colonists on Tatooine had done something to the Sand People first. She couldn't believe an entire race of people could just be ruthless killers, and she believed it even less now that she had met Rie'Kus. Whether she was right or not, Ayanna tended to assume that since given the chance she liked everyone, that if they had that same chance, they'd like her too.

"Sure!" She exclaimed cheerful. Alright, so she was a bit old for bug catching, but if thats what Rie'Kus wanted to do, she was more than happy to oblige him. He was fun.

User ImageRie'Kus grinned. He had tried to get the Masters to catch bugs with him on several occasions, but for some reason they never wanted to do. That was the problem with being an old person - everything got boring.

He pulled Fran out of his pocket and let the mouse scurry over to the wall. "I'ma gonna try and catch a rwed one. Which ones are your favowrites?" he asked as his eyes tracked the movements of a near by beetle. With a grunt, he leapt forward at the bug, caught it in between his palms, and promptly shoved it into his mouth. "The rwed ones taste the juiciest," he said in between crunches.
