devil_in_heaven DarkDragonDemonica At Volume 2 here, the shop is split into two parts - country/classical music, and non-country/classical music. Obviously our idols are under non-cc music. So that's all good. But in other places I've seen them under pop, rock, pop-rock, metal, industrial, and that's about it. Oh, and nu-metal, which one of my sources told me is like a combination of rock and rap. And I do not see how TR can be rap. yeah ur right and i noticed this with other songs like Ice. over here though they r under pop/rock well just about every band is under pop/rock even the kind that so obiously isnt. i think they r alternative.

I managed to get Into and Hellofacollection off the Sanity website, and Mum says she's found a site or two where I can get the others... And nothing is wrong with Funky Jam. Tis a cool song about a dog dying, as my friend said once eek But good. It kicks. And by the by? What exactly is ska? Coz I've heard the term but have next to no idea what the hell it is. question

Lady Lucidia i just hate the way people go on about how much they hate them or slate for no reason i mean jeez if you don't like them just keep- your mouth shut Yeah, I found a board before where people were criticizing the rasmus and saying that they sucked and so on. I had alot of ppla dded to my list of people to kill on that day. And its like, if you dont like them, fine, you dont have to tell everyone and insult them. Before we kill them..for we rasmus fans are very protective of our fav band.

The Rasmus are sold under Rock/Pop here, but i think they should be sold under the "Amazingly Great Music Which Everyone Should Buy" genre. I will sell them under that when i open my music store.

there melodic rock they could also be classed as goth or pop i guess.........in cd shops around here there just in music A-Z under R.....

rasmusfreek we rasmus fans are very protective of our fav band. Indeed we are... And with good reason too. Rasmus fans get an awful lot of s**t for liking them. We get dissed by the mainstream community as they're so distressingly "morbid and depressive" - probably derived from the title of Funeral Song and the line in In The Shadows as goes "I'd rather kill myself than turn into their slave". Oh, the terror. A direct reference to suicide? What a terrifying concept. And from the gothic and industrial communities we get even MORE hell as we are told they are "stupid mainstream pop s**t". Sooo, yeah, we just have to greatly stand up for them as hardcore Rasmus fans are really the only ones who actually admire them... *sighs*

It all depends which album it is.
For the old albums like 'peep', 'hellofatester' and 'playboys' they would be sold under pop.
For 'into' and 'hellofacollection' they would be sold under pop/rock.
For the newer albums, 'dead letters' and 'hide from the sun', they would be sold under rock, or in some cases metal.

I mean, one or two of their songs have elements of it - Dead Promises is an outstanding example - but apart from elements and trace amounts I wouldn't think they could be really considered that sort of genre. I like Hachi's idea of Diet Goth! The Rasmus now have their own catagory!
Just like Placebo! 'cept Placebo's genre doesn't have a name, it's just, Placebo. In my mind it is anyway.
So yes! The Rasmus are great enough to have their own genre!
