I'm not normally into albums and a majority of songs with words (i'm more instrumental then anything) though there are the occasional few. Recently i started hearing from a band called Nightwish. Ever heard them before? They're pretty good.
I have next to no time for those extremely boring rap songs that complain about 'me bitches and me bling i only wish that i could sing' crap. JZ (or however you spell it) ruined Linkin Park when he sung in some of there songs. I'm only glad it wasn't permanent.

Azure Rune Good, so i'm not the only instrumentalist around here! you can't have metal without words. All my techno and the majority of my 8g of music doesn't have lyrics

I came across a song while i was watching scrubs a few days ago.
It's called 'how to save a life' by The fray, it's an excellent song.

Sliph Some songs are better with words. The occasional few. So far anime songs are the only ones i'll listen to with words (even if i can't always understand it.)

Let's see. I use a lot of songs just for the instrumental value for a couple of reasons. When i'm playing something (Fighting games, FPS even RPG's) i like a rythm to go with but not nessecarily the words. When i'm writing, same thing, just the rythm, helps me think. Words tend to interfere. If i'm not doing either of these things (like that'll happen rolleyes ) then i couldn't care less if it has words or not. Don't know if that helps explain why i like it that way but meh.
Anyway, songs sad i'm bad with song titles but i'll tell you what i know anyway) Linkin Park: (Names i remember are: Numb, Somewhere i belong, Breaking the Habit, cure for the Itch. But i like all their work that i've heard so i'll just say Linken Park in general. Almost...)
Evanescence: (Song titles are out the window! But what i've heard so far is of good instrumental value.)
Nightwish.
Live and Learn.
N.E.R.D: Almost over now. (has a very nice instrumental to it)
Lilium. (This one is on even for me. I like it both ways, maybe a little more with the singing)
Ramstein. (A majority of their songs are awesome with lyrics but i work better without)
Ghost ship theme. (One of the better instrumentals)
That's all i can think of right now. there's probably a lot more but i'm havin enough trouble remembering the titles of the few i've presented here. And no, i didn't actually answer your question properly because i still prefer these songs to have lyrics to them. Just not when i need the music. It may be strange (and a hell of a lot of people don't agree) but that's normally what i listen for first when i hear a song.
One last thing, if a song is to have words and lyrics, i like them best when they are used in a way that hurts, soulfully, if u get what i mean. Certain songs used to do that to me but not so much anymore. Those are the songs i mean when i say 'the occasional few'.

Ah. And your favorite / most listened to instrumental ?
Mine I think is either Perfect Cell, Final Bowser, or Haunted Hell.

Dragonforce is easily one of the best instrumental bands around. Most of thier songs go for like 6 min's and about 5 is jsut guitar solo's. Cry for Eternity, download it now.
