I like saying Aeris more than Aerith for some unknown reason, people always get on to me about it. But NO ONE that I've seen or know of has called Zack Zax besides me

HydraXWarrior Final Fantasy Eight for its characters and the depth of the GF system. I don't know why so many people hated that game, it's really fun. Alot of people complain about hte GFsystem being too hard to understand.

Alot of people complain about hte GFsystem being too hard to understand. I had trouble understanding the system at first.... but once I got it, I found it easy to exploit the spells to over power your characters. For me, that and the tedious drawing system ruined it for me.

I always hear people talking about FF8 like "it was nothing after playing FF7" so I think that FF8 is yet another game that never got a chance because of FF7

I liked 8 more than 7, I didn't mean that "7 beats all" I mean't than most people didn't even give it that chance.

VIII was... mweh. I didn't like the plot, but I did like one or two of the characters. But that's... well. Really about all, actually. o_O;

Kieojo Favourite Squaresoft game? Alright.
Final Fantasy VII. And yes, I'm a fanboi, and yes, my ranting and raving over this game could blow you away. But I digress.
It was probably the first game I played for the Playstation, actually - because I was, am, and will forever be a Sega-freak, but that's beside the point. I'm sure that might have something to do with my being taken with it. But not the topping reason.
The graphics were simply amazing for that time in consoles' lives. If I recall it was one of the first 3D games. That still isn't the reason.
The story? In-depth and quite well written. I was amazed by it, hypnotized by it from the very minute things started happening. Hmm. Aside from perhaps the first twenty minutes. And yes, I'm trying to be non-spolierish, but those of you that played it know what I'm talking about. Anyway, it held me until the very end - the very end. Speaking of which, what was up with that ending? XD
The characters themselves were a delight, from Aerith to Zax. Heh. You either liked them, or you hated them. At least, that's how it was for me. But it wasn't even the main characters that got most of my attention. No - I've been in love with Shin-Ra since the game first fell into my lap and they appeared on the screen.
Honestly, there isn't a game that can even come close in comparison. I quote because I can. And because honestly, he's right. |D That, and truth be told, this was the first RPG that I played - it hooked me instantly. I've played through VIII and it just doesn't cut it for me. Neither do most of the others, either - VII will always hold a special place in my heart regardless, but the addictive story, gameplay, characters... the whole world is so well designed and obviously loved. There's personality and growth and it's just an amazing play experience in my opinion. And the characters - the CHARACTERS. How can you not love them? Even when you hate them they're still wonderfully built and embedded into the world they live in; sure, I might hate Scarlet for being an annoying, conniving, pissant little b***h who I honestly just want to stab in the eye, but you know what? She was a very good example of what she was. And there was some depth to the personalities that just wasn't exhibited in any other game I'd ever played before, such as Sephiroth's descent into madness, Zax and Cloud's relationship, motives and backstory behind the individual personas... You know, I'll keep ranting if I don't stop. So I'm stopping. But yeah. I adore this game. XD<3
