I've only listened to Miyavi, Dir en Grey, and Gackt.

The few J-Rock bands that I'm able to listen to are very good in my opinion. I like X-Japan, The Pillows, The Yellow Monkey, and pop artists like Utada Hikaru and BoA. I'm getting interested in visual kei, and I would like to know if anyone knows of any stores in the U.S. that have music from these kinds of bands.

when i just got hooked, the only artists that i knew were Utada Hikaru and L'arc~en~Ciel. then Hiei burned a few CDs for me and i knew some more. then they aired a 24/7 anime channel (Animax) and now i know a lot more. xd

my favorite jrock bands are: bump of chicken (the pillows new name), dir en grey, gackt, malice mizer, xjapan ( of course!) and l'arcen ciel

XD No wonder I liked their songs! I could list about 100 names of Japanese artists I liked. Instead, I'll list ones otherwise listed by others on this thread. X-Japan, Gackt, B'z, ~L'arc~en~ciel~, Ayumi Hamasaki, The Back Horn, The Pillows ( I guess now known as Bump of Chicken), Asian Kung-fu Generation, Bad Luck (gravitation!!!), Namie Amuro, Porno Grafitti, and Utada Hikaru. Series wise, X/1999 music, .hack//sign music, Yami no Matsuei music and Wolf's Rain music.

Hmmm....I like a lot of J-stuff, like BoA, The Pillows. Hikaru Utada *her American CD Exodus is an execllent listen, by the way*, Ayumi Hamasaki, Minmi, and a lot of other stuff i can't think of at the moment. I say someone should make an Official thread about one of these great artists...

I like Japanese indie bands ^^
CRAM-BO, PASH, 21Hack-Unwise, MintJam, Choco-holix, and many others biggrin
Anyhow, 175R is my favorite band atm. Used to be L'arc en Ciel, but they're not as good as they were. sadly.. =/
