When I first read the first book (age six) I went running around my school saying "Harry and Hermione! Harry and Hermione! Harry and Hermione!" over and over again in a singsongy way. But I do agree that mostly older shippers do ship H/Hr, because generally speaking, older people have a tad more sence than younger people, and H/Hr makes PERFECT sence.

I am not sure if age makes a difference, it didn't with me.
I can see why there are R/Hr and H/G shippers, but in the long run H/Hr has always been there in my mind and I think it is because I can picture them growing old together, I think that the friendship they have would make the bond they share even stronger. And I think they are perfect for each other...
I have thought this since I read the first book (well almost).. Let’s see I was 12 or 13 and I still have not changed my mind at 19.

The reason i agree with this is because older people look beyond the basics. I think to be a true H/Hr shipper you need to look beyond was is plain in sight. I can see where people might think that R/Hr is the true ship because you can see plain signs of it. Do you think JKR is that simple? I dont think so. She has been one to put a tricky twist to all of her books. No one would have guessed the things she puts out there. Who would have thought that on the back of a mere Professor Querrel(sorry cant spell) was the famous Lord Voldemort, and figured that Voldemort had planted his life into seven different objects. She's just not that simple.

One of the very basic things about the HP verse is that things are never what they appear. A close second is that Rowling's mind is a maze no one is going to get out of. I do believe that we Harmony shippers (including Red moon and Neville/Ginny shippers) made it out in one piece though. ---thu.huyen

Darn right! I'm in college (my third year) and all of my friends say "Yes, R/Hr is such a shyte pairing". I mean, some of them accept it in sort of an "I don't care, let JK do what she bloody wants, I'm not in it for the romance" but those of them that do ship realize that R/Hr is just witing to fall apart. As for H/G, the general oppinion is "That came out of nowhere..."

We all know that Ron didn't take FF during the Quidditch match but it sorta makes you think as you read the match who was. All the clues point back to Ginny. Reread that quidditch match and see how cleverly Rowling hides Ginny good luck with Ron's "suppposed good luck." Ginny could have used FF to get Harry. (getting the FF from her Fred and George, knowing those two, they would have experimented with it and left some laying around the Burrow) Note how everyone in HBP was acting OOC. I'm not so sure about age but i do think H/Hr shippers are more mature.
You dont see H/Hr shippers going around saying "OMG!!1!! R U STOOPID!!! R/Hr iz S0 WrONG!!"

Theory can be read here: Ginny on lucky juice?---thu.huyen I don't think Ginny actually took or slipped Harry any potion (the FF or a love potion), I like her character enough to give her some credit. but sudden lusts/flings just happen like that the way it did with him and Ginny... he saw her with other boyfriends and it made him want what it appeared he couldn't have because he could have had her years ago. it happens all the time with kids that age. but its not love. love is what happens when you aren't looking for it, and it suddenly hits you. in the end of book 6 Harry gave up Ginny and thought he was giving up love (because teenage flings sure do feel like love until you actually do fall in love and realize the difference). Harry is putting life, and love and everything on hold for the beginning of book 7 and just as life goes, as soon as you put things like that on hold, is when it all suddenly hits you. I just hope I am making sense. I'm a bit tired and am supposed to be reasearching something for a final sweatdrop

Go harmony! it's how I met my boyfriend too, thats where my idea comes from because its how everyone I've ever known to have a successful relationship and what I've viewed as 'real' love have begun. only like weeks after I swore off guys and dating and said I didn't care anymore I'm happier being single its less stressful I met my boyfriend. its just how it works in my experience.

Don't worry; I'm suppose to be studying for a lovely French quiz tomorrow. How j'adore ma prof... Anyway, on to Ginny.
IMO, the H/G fling came out of nowhere which is why I believe FF theory works so well with it. I mean, how does Ginny go from stage prop to super!Ginny without being the least suspious to anyone? I agree with lusts/flings happening (take Ron/Lav for example but I saw that coming at least) Rowling does things for a reason. I agree that H/G was there to show Harry that he was living in another different from his own and that he couldn't outrun his responsibility for too long. However, given that Rowling gives the good and bad for everything in her story, I believe Ginny used FF for the bad as Harry used it for the good in HBP. That's just my opinion though.

its a good theory, I just hate the idea of Ginny being so deceiptful, I love the Weasleys and I keep thinking 'a Weasley wouldnt do that' but then I remember Percy and think that well... maybe...

It really is hard isn't it? But I do think Ginny has a talent for lying. We can see plently of proof of that in CoS and OOtP. Remember how easily she lied to her mother? I think Percy could still redeem himself. Still waiting for that day to come though.
