Copernicus had just found a nice little place to lie down after a long day of wandering. He had been gone for a long time now, traveling the lands and learning all that he could about life, though truthfully he merely learned that climbing mountains where hard, and getting acrossed seas were even harder. Still, he did see many interesting things, but now he had been home in his land of creation for about a week.
His head still perked up, he caught sight of a brown and white female off in the distance. He's never seen her before, but then again he had been gone for a while, so almost everyone was new.

She found herself mostly just walking around mindlessly, her gaze slightly glazed due to how bored she was... or, well, something. She wanted something new and interesting to happen already... as she walked, she found herself staring at an odd patch of gray-ish black grass. Blinking, because she was surprised to see such an odd color or grass...
...She soon realized that it was a stallion. Hoping he hadn't noticed she'd been staring at him without realizing it, she smiled and said, "Hello! Nice to weather today, isn't it?" My, how lame was that? she thought idly, wondering why in the world she had picked those particular words. She needed to come up with something fast... or, well, something less lame.

The stallion was confused at first why the mare was staring at him like that, but seeing the way she blinked he quickly guessed she was merely deep within her own thoughts and did not notice him, probably staring off into space. He gave a small chuckle and stood himself up, not wishing to be rude.
"Yes, it is very nice weather indeed," he responded with a nod and a smile. "I am Copernicus, or Coper or Cop if the shortened name pleases you more."

Rowanoak smiled shyly at the stallion--he was clearly much older than her, and very regal, at that--and flicked her tail and ears nervously. She really hadn't expected to see anyone, and now that there was someone here, she felt a bit... unprepared.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Copernicus, or Coper, or Cop," she replied pleasantly, blue eyes glowing cheerfully. "I'm called Rowanoak," she introduced, and looked at Copernicus shyly. "I don't know if I have a nickname or a shortened version of my name, so I can't tell you much else."

Copernicus' tail flicked back and forth pleasantly as he listened to the mare speak.
"That is quite fine. Rowanoak suits you perfectly. There is no real need to shorten it, and it is very pleasurable to meet you too," he said with a bob of his head and another smile.

"Really? That's good, because I have trouble remembering things, and I'm surprised I remember my name," she said, smiling a little more. She cocked her head at him, and then asked, "Do you know what this place is called? These hills are really tall for... hills," she said, eying the miniature grassy peaks. She was mostly just trying to make conversation since she really didn't know what else there was to talk about.
