"Just the pregnancy. Blame it on that if you wish to." She shook her head lightly and smiled. "Yes. I feel all the love I missed for so long. And I love you all for it." She looked at her friend briefly and said "Thank you for taking the time to talk to me Bastet but I really need to look after Tyler." She headed for the door and then turned back, "Be careful little mother. I don't want anything happening to you or your baby." She left Bastet to do what she wanted and walked off down the hall to her room where she climbed into bed with Tyler. She was glad they had talked and seh had finally been able to get it all off her chest. She hugged her little boy and felt Bastet at peace. Must be asleep. Wiht a yawn she did the same.

Aurahkah and Ecara. There were the center of his thoughts and little would change that. And having a scant few moments to sit down with Aurah and talk without hiding away from everyone gave him exactly what he wanted. The kitchen was quiet for once, no one blasting in and out constantly and it was just her next to him, with Ecara sitting nearby seeming ready to go face first into her bowl of spaghetti.

It could almost be called murder. Perhaps sacrifice of the spaghetti to a hungry little wolf girl. An amusing sight to say the least as she practically tore into her meal. Ate like her father.
Aura could only give a laugh and then think in her head about the horror that giving that girl a bath would be. Ecara didn't take too kindly to baths, like any other child, but she always seemed to get as dirty as possible. The fact that she hated using silver ware only made her all the more messier. But Aurahkah turned her thoughts, and her eyes from Ecara over to Saradin who sat beside her at the table. He received a smile from her, it was nice to have the kitchen not so noisy or crowded for once. Normal things she wanted to ask him were passed by. Like what? How he was sleeping, things of that nature. He didn't like to talk about it, or at least gave off the impression of that. "Nice to have some time alone, isn't it?"

"Absolutely." Saradin leaned against her and put an arm up as he watched Ecara closer. "Like father like daughter." But growing in his mind was really thinking of her as his own daughter by now, she was as close and friendly to her as her own father and knew that shed accept him. But she wasnt the focus right now, and after the last stretch of time he had to spend with Aurah... "So Aurah, what inspired... the other night?" Choosing cautious language was appropriate considering the younger listener.

For a moment she looked like she wanted to laugh at the question. Then just smile, then blush, though a blush never came. That was an odd gambit of tings she just went through in three seconds. "The...other night." A glance to Ecara. The girl wasn't stupid to things, but for once Aura was glad that Ecara wasn't too wise to implied meanings and concepts. Made things easier around her sometimes. "I..." How did she want to explain this, let alone word it. "Sometimes, bodies ache for release and hearts cry out for the completion. I don't know really...it just felt...right for it to happen." Ashamed it had? No. "Why?" Little worried over what he was thinking? Yes.

"Just surprised by it." A gentle kiss in thanks for the night of his life. "Havent had enough time together in the last few weeks. And from the little time weve had spent, its seemed like theres something on your mind. Very tense, something that you arent sure you want to say maybe?" Serenity radiated from their time together, and it was this feeling that he wanted to absorb into himself, it would help later when peace was harder to find.

"Hm, that obvious is it? I guess...it's just things that I think. Perhaps things I feel I may be better off not knowing, or knowing all together." She gave a laugh, taking a moment to brush a few strands of hair from her eyes. "You know, you always were good at reading me. Just something you've always been good at." But she was avoiding. He would just keep asking her things until she gave in, why not give in ahead of times. "I think things like...what do you think. Like, how old you think you are, or me for that matter. Little things like that. Worry gives little things a big shadow." Little things until she felt like asking the bigger things in the back of her mind.

"I feel old." Not quite the answer she may have been looking for, but it was all he had. "Like Ive been around for much longer than I should have and time is finally starting to take me. And that maybe youre staying behind." That of course sounded very bleak, no matter the tone he used. "But you dont have to worry about things like that, not for a long time at least. I just want to get everything out and open so that we can show the little thing without the shadows."

Fairly accurate in his musing as always. Not for a long time at least? Words of one who was mortal. And that was what was on her mind really, the state of mortality he had, the one that she didn't. Frankly, she was a bit jealous. More than just that though. A brief look at Ecara to clear her mind. "Well the soul never forgets a single second. I guess you're feeling your age." Aura tapped her fingers on the table and tilted her head in Aurah like fashion at him. "Saradin...how do you know when you've had too much of something?"

"The answer to that is fairly simple. When you dont want it anymore." Her tapping fingers found his wrapping between them, holding his hand several sizes larger around hers, fingers moving in near unison with her tapping. In truth, he was worried too. Things that he knew were always his lot in life to do were now so far beyond him and he felt useless. She was the only thing that kept him from succumbing to that, and even that was getting harder to do when she had so much worry of her own. "Think youve got something you dont want anymore?"

"Seems so. But I feel the justification that I have been satisfying my answer in runs so much deeper than simple not wanting it. More of a self realization of I don't need it anymore." Despite the words sounding a bit somber she was smiling. A look to their hands, hers stopping its motions to turn palm up and intertwine their fingers. Seemed certain worries weighed upon them both, and neither knew exactly how to break them but only how to hold on to keep them at bay. In a way she found Saradin something she couldn't do without. Now how in the world had he always been there, but she has not needed him before? Perhaps she did, and just hadn't known it. Perhaps she was over thinking again. Her other worry was Saradin himself. "And you haven't been yourself...it worries me the most I think." An indirect statement to what was truly wrong with him.

"Wrong with me?" As if confused with the statement, Saradin stared with a look of innocence to her for clarification as to her meaning. But he already knew. Of course he hadnt been himself, he didnt know who he was really, and then there was the matter of the terrible fire burning inside of his soul. "Aurah," His shimmering blue eyes closed as the he leaned his face into the crook of her neck thinking of what else to say. "I can better be me when I know that you'll be okay no matter what." The facade or peace and calm really did wear on him in many ways, though he had no intention of letting it dissapear from him entirely until they would have a chance to talk about this. "When I see you afraid, it breaks my heart, and when youre afraid for me I hide the pain to keep you safe. I think youve been doing the same, both of us trying to cover up our fears to make the other worry less."

"Just trying to be strong for each other I suppose. It's always been part of our nature. I've always tried my best to look strong in the face of everything, even if I know I don't stand a chance." Her free hand came up to lace into his hair, playing with the dark strands in a form of comfort to them both. "And you, you've always wanted to be the one to protect everything no matter what the method. Even from yourself." She spent a moment in silence, thinking on this exact moment. "Do you want to know what really worries me Saradin? It's...that you'll die and if I don't do something...I'll have to watch that. I've seen it once...I don't think I could handle it again."

"Death," Saradin muttered into the air. "All we can do is work to prevent these things when the time comes. Because it happened once doesnt mean it will happen again. And worst of it is that worrying will only take away the joy we have without doing anything to change what may happen." Nuzzling against her neck for a moment he sat up again and looked over to Ecara. "Just take her example. Children always seem to know how to do things that adults cant figure out."

"My time isn't scheduled I'm afraid. Or even on the waiting list..." It was soft spoken almost as if she was saying it to more of herself rather than him as well. Then she broke into a smile as she followed his general thinking direction and also his gaze to Ecara. "Like eat with their hands and not worry about how messy they are getting." More musing from the woman. Aura gave a sigh. "Wish I could do that sometimes. Just go about things without thinking of them like she does. We'd all be a lot better off sometimes."
In the meantime Ecara had noticed the attention on her now. It drew a fanged smile and a laugh from the child as she twitched her wolfish ears in response. "Mommy, Saradin Phoenix!" Acknowledgment of them watching her. Her spaghetti? Gone. Nothing more than a mess on a plate and on the girl as well. Though she seemed content to just lick it off her hands rather than wash them.
