Rawr. My parents let me pierce my ears and introduced me to mascara. They also stopped interrogating me when I went out with guys. Otherwise, for me it was just another birthday, and there is nothing legally cool about being 16, unless you're driving. I think it's more of a Western thing to recognize it as a "coming of adulthood" or so... my family didn't make a big deal of it, anyway. :]
I wasn't in the USA at that age, so driving @ 16 was a foreign concept to me, and I didn't understand US roads or anything. I feel bad for my sisters too - Cyriistar turns 16 next month, but from the looks of it my dad's job will move the family to the Phillipines. So, no liscense for her either. domokun

Just after the room got cleaned. o_O But it still feels like things are better. xd ; I never really thought about the driving age, because I never figured I'd have access to a car. Happy birthday Sor!
Hummm. My sixteenth...I went to see a play with friends for free, 'cause it was the last dress rehearsal and I knew some of the actors. Wasn't my favorite play (Beehive, collection of music from like the sixties and seventies with absolutely no plot), but it got me out of the house.
Oh, and I had a biology final and a drama final that day, too. Plus jazz choir auditions, which were terrifying.
...I think I got clothing for presents. And a cell phone. I miss that phone...it had Snake 2 on it, which I kicked a** at. Anywho. On subject again.

To be honest, I can't remember what I did for my sixteenth birthday, it was so long ago hahaha. xD; I'm sure it was probably like any other day, we're not exactly the celebrating type of family but it's all good. 3nodding
And I never got my license until I was like 19 or 20 I think, never needed it. I made my sister drive me around if I couldn't walk or take the bus where I wanted to go. Yes, I'm THAT lazy. :B

I was sick for my sixteenth birthday. No surprise there. But I did get my awesome cool signet ring. I'd wanted one ever since I was really little, because Mother has one, and I always figured I'd get one for graduation, since that's when she got hers and she promised me one. When I got the little box and opened it, I was so excited.
... I just got my license last week and I just turned eighteen. I didn't really need it when I turned sixteen, because my friends carted me around everywhere. cool Of course, they got handed cars, and I still don't have one.

For the record,
things didn't really get much better. All I had to do was ask "Is there pizza?" for my Mom to completely flip out on me. So I hid in the bathroom and cried for a while. And then she pulled guilt trips on me when I said I wasn't hungry anymore.
And more guilt trips on the car ride home.
She takes everything way too far.
And I hardly got any presents, and nothing related to computers, anime or drawing. My three loves.
BUT.
You guys on Gaia, as sad as it is, cheered me up quite a bit. heart Thanks, I love you guys xp heart
