Disney Adds Personal Computer to Lineup

LOS ANGELES (AP) - The Walt Disney Co. has added a personal computer and flat screen monitor to its lineup of consumer electronics products.

It even comes with a mouse.

The computer, which also comes with games, a digital pen and a drive that plays both CDs and DVDs, joins a television, DVD player, clock radio, cordless phone and other products the company has introduced over the past two years.

The computer will retail for $599 with the monitor sold separately for $299.

The "Disney Dream Desk PC'' was unveiled Thursday in New York.

The computer was designed by frog design and will be made by Germany's Medion AG, a large private label maker of personal computers.

The Windows PC comes with ContentProtect, an e-mail and Internet filtering system. It also comes with proprietary programs that allows users to combine their own video clips with Disney characters and sound effects and create drawings using a built-in digital pen.

Disney announced it will also be introducing a digital camera and camcorder later this year.

I have a sudden new respect for the fact my monitor is square. No mouse ears. Why would someone pay 300 bucks for a mouse-eared LCD screen...

Wait. These are the same people that by the 20 dollar mouse-ear hats at Disney.

At least it comes with a filtering system. Filters out all the good, lets in all the bad. And you can even dance with Mickey! I'm sure any kid that makes a video of that will grow up to be an astounding video editor...

...And burn that computer to the ground, lest he be humiliated for the rest of his natural life. sweatdrop

Giant talking mice and computers. They don't mix. Just another sign of the apocalypse coming. More on that later. Zero out.

MANILA (Reuters) - A man and his two sons have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a neighbor and then eating parts of his body after he tripped over a woman relative at a dance, Philippine police said on Tuesday.
The three men are suspected of stabbing neighbor Benjie Ganoy to death last month in a remote village in the southwestern island of Palawan. They ate his ears, tongue and arms after roasting the body over a fire, provincial police chief Michael Garraez said.

"They stabbed him repeatedly, cut off the man's ears, pulled out his tongue and ate it," Garraez told Reuters by telephone. He was quoting a sworn statement by a witness, who said he had been forced to eat some flesh taken from the victim's arms.

Garraez said there was no tradition of cannibalism in the area.

He said the father had apparently been angry after Ganoy accidentally tripped over his daughter during a dance party.

Police said the victim disappeared after the dance party on July 17. The witness led them to the burned body almost a week later.

Well...they always said if I didn't dance right I'd get burned. This is why I never even took to dancing in public. This is why none of you should, either.

But what gets me..Manila is where a lot of our IT and communications work is being outsourced to. Is this why? They threatened to eat us if we didn't obey?

"Give us your jobs!"

"NO! NEVER!"

"Then we will roast and eat you!"

"....Ew."

Yep. This gives me so much more faith in the experiment we know as humanity. More proof on that later. Zero out.
