She died in the end. ): I was in like fifth grade and all "Huhwhat? gonk " how did she die? I haven't read it but my friend told me the story a lo~ng time ago. so, I forgot ^^;;

what!!! In the original did Ariel confess her love then turned to bubbles?? Cause I've been watching a anime series called Mermaid melody and they're mermaids and stuff and the main character kinda fell in love with a 'human' and their legend says if they say they are a mermaid to a human they turn into bubbles >.<

Cause I've been watching a anime series called Mermaid melody and they're mermaids and stuff and the main character kinda fell in love with a 'human' and their legend says if they say they are a mermaid to a human they turn into bubbles >.< I heart Mermaid Melody! Such a good anime, and I think that sea-foam/bubble element was derived from the original Little Mermaid tale.
I personally adored Cinderella since I was a child, but now I realise that the girl simply has no personality! In the Disney version, you don't see much of her personality, and it sucks! I still love the storyline, but can't we get to know her better?
I also loved the Little Mermaid as a child, and I still do. At least SHE has personality.
Beauty and the Beast - I've only really loved it recently. I may be 16, but I still enjoy watching this movie. It's so sweet, and heartwarming....
So overall, I'd have to say story-wise, Cinderella is my favourite, but Beauty and the Beast, and the Little Mermaid tie as my favourite fairytale movies.

I love fairy tale romances. When the fairytales are remade into other books I just have to read them, except for Cinderella becasue that story gets old really fast and I never liked it much when I first read it.
My fav fairytales are sleeping beauty, beauty and the beast and thumbelina (thumbelina isn't very romantic but it's sweet) I love sleeping beauty because i always loved the idea of a perfect prince charming just coming up and hte world would be perfect. I loved beauty and the beast becasue belle/beauty alwasy seemed perfect; smart, kind, beautiful and I alwasy wished I could be like that. And then she finds love in beast who ends up being handsom *even though all the fairy tale s I ever read, he was ugly*

Anywho, if you really want to get into fairytales and Disney... Many are remakes based on tellings by the Brothers Grimm. Really, their name tells you the basic idea of they're stories. For Snow White, well, she has a sister Disney fails to mention, Rose Red... Let's just say she's not the nicest gal. The real relationship between Snow White and the seven Dwarves isn't PG-13, so I won't mention it(Hint: they weren't very nice either). Pochahontas was actually about twelve, Captain Smith, 30... In the African Version of Cinderella, she feeds her step-mother her step-stepsisters under the disguise of a reconciliation and feast... Did you know the lullaby "rock-a-by-baby" is based on a mother killing her newborn and the herself? Post pardm depression, I beelieve I heard it was... sweatdrop SORRY FOR MY CYNICISM!!!!

When I was younger, like 7 or so, my favorite was Cinderella. I am addicted to fairy tales, happy ending or not. I've read and seen so many different versions of them that I can't remrmber them all. Now that I'm older I can say that I like them all. They're all different and have their own unique appeal. The one I read is the one I'm in the mood for.

Wrede wrote about Rose Red and Snow white! It wasn't exactly fairy-tale correct, but it is good...Snow White goes by the name Blanche, and she's just as soft and lady like as i guess she's supposed to be portrayed. It's not really based on the Brothers Grimm version beyond the names really...but at least Wrede didn't disney-fy it. I always was confused about that lullaby...now I know.
