THe only cuss word I know of a possible history of is sh*t. Manure for fertilizer was shiped ot other areas for farming. The manure was packed in crates, but became wet from the sea. Methane ws created from wet manure. When a someone went to the lower hold to check on the baggage, the flame from their candle or lamp would create an explosion. Therefore man learned to transport manure away from the sides in the dryest spot and the ships would be labeled to warn others: Ship High In Transport of sh*t. I am not sure the credibility o this histroy, but it made sense ot me.

My first post here! whee
Anyway, this is actually pretty funny considering I was reseaching cuss words on Wiki a few days ago. The one that I found interesting was crap, though I know that some people don't think of it as a cuss word.
It didn't come from Thomas Crappers name, at least that is what the article said. It says that came from nouns meaning cast offs, or in Shropshire, meaning dregs of beer or ale, or from the English crappe chaff, or hay trodden on in a barn. xp

I am not sure the credibility o this histroy, but it made sense ot me. The American word "s**t" originally came from the British 'Shite", which then, I believe, came from the German "Sheissa". How the Germans came up with that word, I'm not sure.
