TAB"She tried to kill me, TWICE! You know very well by now that that child is pure evil, so don't you go opposing me!" Sam stromed back into the lounge and sat down on the couch where he fished the floor for his shoes.

TABHe sat up in attention and looked off into the next room where Angevin's back was to him. "Really. That's great news." He stood up and took his coat from the chair. "I guess things have gotten better after all." He pulled on the coat and went for the door.

TAB"But-" The door slamed behind her as Sam disappeared. She started off at the closed door and sighed.

The pale man walked along the road and made a sharp turn at the door of the mansion. It wasn't much of a structure really, most of it was still burnt from the fire years ago. Instead of knocking on the door he let himself in and climbed up the wide stairs to the second floor. All the time the trail of white smoke followed.
There were nosies coming from one of the bedrooms and the man placed his palm on the door letting it fall open. Inside the governor, Angevin, with a single maid, laid upon the bed in pain. The child was about to come.

*Having grown tired of his drafting desk and the endless amount of paperwork: moorage certificates, complaint notices, official records of berthing rights, nationality registers and many other papers that did nothing more than clutter his desk, Jack had left his cottage upon Flint's Bluff and made his way toward town. Passing down the narrow lane upon the hill that loomed over the village that liad below, Kurisutofa gazed over the rooftops and onto the horizon. It was a nice day, a tad misty.. but promising.

Having come across documents of rather great importance, Kurisutofa decided that he'd pay a visit to Her Honour, Governor Gunn, whoat this point in the morning would have still been at her residence, Gunn Manor.

Drawing himself threw the gate that stood ajar, Jack made his way across the yards and the once magnificent fountain that stood in the front courtyard. Bending low, he picked a ha'penny from the base of the unkept pool of water. Someones lost wish... but no more. It would go towards a nice stiff drink at the pub later in the day. Crossing to the steps, Kurisutofa drew up to the door, placed the sailcloth parcel under one arm and knocked firmly upon the great oak doors. The sound resounded about the vastly empty mansion. No answer: knocking again the door lurked forward with his weight. *

"Miss Gunn? Are you at home? I'm coming in..."

*Usually, he would have waited for a servant.. but seeing as how Miss Gunn had no one above Mr. Sam, her little girl and that tall pale yeed man that seemed to lurk about the grounds, Jack let himself in. Walking through the front hall, his steps sounded loudly upon the marble floors.*

"Miss Gunn? Ahoy! Is anyone at home?!"

*A sound. Stirring in the upper chambers. Jack leaned against the staircase, his left foot mounting the steps in curiosity. He'd been in the manor once before, but they'd kept to the Banquet Hall then. She might still have been laying in bed in a halfwakened state of mind, she was rather well known for appearing only after the break of noon, when the sun was already high in the sky. But there was something about the manor that said that there was a coherant wakened mind in the house.*

"I'll take full responsibility for anything I see..."

*Taking the steps up to the second floor, Jack crept slowly through the corridors. He looke dform room to room, but there was no life in any of them. A creek of a door was heard and Jack moved silently into a shadowed corner. A dark figure stood in a doorway. Was all well here?*

At the sight of The Man Angevin Picked up the nearest item, an ivory clock, and flung it at him. She was at the hardest part of birth and surely having the man who had done the job on her filled her with rage. However she could not speak. The maid whom she had hired on the way was shocked at the governor's random out burst and stood holding a bloodly cloth in her hands staring out at the new comer.

He did not make a flinch as the heavy clock hit the wall near him and cracked in to three on the floor. What a waste. The man stepped closer into the room and closed the door behind. Interesting how much nose the governor made. The nurse stood waiting for Ms. Gunn to give a cammand but instead it was the man who yelled her back into focus.

"Do not just stand there, help the woman."

He placed the f** back into his mouth and crossed over to Angevin.

*Stepping out from the darkend corner, he walked over the broken clock, it's uncoiled springs having spilled all over the floor. He knew precisley where Miss Gunn was and what she was doing now. Her screams eminated from within the room. Now, normally Jack would have stepped aside and let the professionals handle it, but Dr. Morgan was dead and his own surgeon was away on business and the nurse that was assisting in the delivery was obviously not doing her job.

Pushing the door open slightly, Jack whistled so as to get the Man's attention. Guesturing, Jack summoned the man over to the doorway. Slipping inside, Kurisutofa removed his hat from his head and kept his eyes away, for the sake of respect.*

"Sir, I've delivered many a son of a gun, and a few girls to boot. Are you in need of any assistance? Is the nurse quite capable? I'm willing to act as the man-midwife. It would be my sacred honour."

Smoke blow out from his nose in two tuffs. The Man gave Jack a hard look in the eye.
"What are you doing here in the governor's home, sir? I ask that you leave now."
The nurse tried her best to be busy and placed a wet cloth upon Angevin's forehead.

*Seeing that this so-called 'man' was acting illogically and with not but rash actions, Jack pushed past him and went to the Nurses aid.*

"How far along is she? Has the child crowned as of yet? If so, it's just a matter of time. Now, if you'll be so kind as to prepare a warm blanket to recieve the child and to ready a scalpel, we'll have Miss Gunn out of her curent state as soon as the wee' one is ready to come out."

"QOU ZTAI OUT OOF ZHIS QOU ZEMON! Qou mangled tardy-gaited rampallion!" She rose her head up making the cloth fall over to the pillow.
"NO BODY ASKS QOU ZU c** EEN 'ERE! Allez de nouveau aux profondeurs de l'enfer où vous appartenez, démon!"
There was a pull within and Angevin had to stop speaking, She whinced.
"Jack!" She cired in pain.

*Washing his hands in a basin of water that had been set aside, Jack cleansed them as mucha s ever he could. This child deserved a nice welcome into the world, not a dirty ill-textured one.

Drying his hands on the ends of his recently shifted coat, Jack removed his coat and turned back his sleeves so as not to dirty them. He was glad that he had shown up when he did or else this child might have been lost without the proper care. The nurse seemed reliable enough, but she seemed too nervous. As for the supposed father of the child, he did not meet the requirements to be in the same room as a child.*
