I walked down the creaking stairs, keeping close to the wall, but suddenly heard footsteps.

I instantly put my back against the wall, in the darkest shadows, and waited for the person to come.

I held my breath, once I seen that it was a guard...and even worse...he had a torch.

I watched closely, as the light radius came closer and closer, then it stopped, right before I was exposed by the light.

I watched him scan the surroundings, and felt that every muscle in my body was tense.

I wasn't exactly on friendly terms with the guards...actually, if they spotted me...they would try to kill me.

I watched him slowly turn, and knew he hadn't seen me.

As soon as he turned, I silently walksed out rom my hiding place, and swiftly came up to his back.

With one swift move, my hands were in position on his head.

He went to scream, but with one twist...I heard a sickening crack, and his arms drooped down to his sides.

I drug him into a dark alley, and looked around.

I seen that the walls were close enough together, and with three swift jumps, I had scaled the wall, and was now looking down at the street below.

~Yawns as she looks to the clock, "it's too long...." Kaira said to herself as she held a blade in her hand.~ Wonder what I can do with this...?" *She got an evil smile on her face as she looked up toward the moon, "I hate all the red...I'm so glad I don't wear it." Kaira smirked to herself as she looked down to the dark purple clothes that she wears, tight leggings and a top that fits her figure. Her hair flew back in the wind being down to her waist she normally left the black mass in a clip but today she let it flow free. Looking down to her black knee high boots she sighs, "all this just to keep someone happy....how boring."~

~Kaira looked down to the little white dog that sat at her feet, "You feel it too huh?" She asks the scruff ball, smirking to herself she looks back down towards the city, "why do people have to be so damned frightened? I mean, it's not like we are going to get killed for saying something...or are we?" Pondering to herself she starts to walk back down to the city, she whistles to the little dog and he stands up, barks then follows her.~

Rageadon was standing restless outside the palace. He was on guard watch again that night. Not much action now-a-days in the city of Urnaih. Ever since the famous band of bandits had been caught, not many others have tried to pull something as foolish as that.

Rageadon sighed and leaned agains the wall.

"So, what do you plan to do tomorrow Chek?" Rageadon asked the other guard who seemed to be falling asleep.

"Eh? Oh... Er... Nothing really. I'm just going to be useful for another task or errand. I could use the jobs, as my familly is in great need of money." Chek was one of the newer guards, and definately not as experienced as Rageadon. Rageadon guessed that Chek was about 22.

"Oh yeah... So tell me, how in the world did you get into this city from Cescion?" Rageadon asked.

"Shhh... Don't go around telling people! Salimar would cut off my head! He'd probably send it back to Kerri as well." Chek gulped.

"Don't worry my friend, your secret is safe with me." nodded Rageadon sincerely.

"Well... There's this group called the Anti-Tyrant Forces, or ATF. I made a deal with their leader... I think her name was Jessie. Anyways, for a right fee, she's able to sneak people in and out of cities. So that's what I did." said Chek in a low whisper.

"Why did you want to move? How much did you have to pay? And how did she sneak you in?" asked Rageadon.

"Well... I was nearly out of cash in that city. So I took my chances and decided to move here for a better job. She charged me 2500 gil per adult and 1000 gil per child. So 6000 gil in total for myself, my wife and son. That's a cheap price considering the consequences one can endure. She told me I could pay her back later if I did not have enough, but I decided to get it done and over with. Who knows what she would do to me if I somehow lost all my money and wasn't able to pay. Oh... And we snuck in by hidden underground tunnels. They're even deeper than the sewers. I hear that the ATF made it themselves to ensure safe passage. We were blindfolded though. So don't ask me where it is." Chek said hastedly.

"I see... Thank you for that information my friend. Do you know how I could contact the ATF leader?" asked Rageadon.

"You want to change cities? But why? You have a great job here, and great pay! Is there something that's going to happen that I should know about?" asked Chek.

"Oh... No no... You don't have to worry. I was just wondering whether those tunnels lead outside-" Rageadon was then cut off from what he was saying by Chek.

"No. There is NO way to get outside the city limits. Jessie said so herself to me. Believe me, I would gladly pay any amount of gil to be free of this land of Tyrants. Still... Even if I had the chance, I'm not sure I would want to go. Who knows what dangers lurk out there? Even if I were a free man and could do whatever I want whenever I want... I would still be a slave to fear. The fear of being slayed by the unknown out there. Trust me, stay here. I'm sure that it's much safer than whatever lurks out there." said Chek in a stern voice.

"My friend! It sounds as if there is no difference at all then!" said Rageadon in a wink. They both laughed heartily to that. After a few moments, Check finally responded.

"Well... If you want, I could contact Jessie for you. Whatever you wish to do is none of my business. Would you like to see her?" asked Chek.

"Yes. Perhaps I too can make a deal with her..." Rageadon nodded. Perhaps this was finally his chance to break free of the city of Urnaih with his beloved Rianin. Any possibility was worth a try.

"Hmm. Very well. I will see what I can do. It will probably take a few days though." Chek agreed.

"Very well. Take as long as you need." responded Rageadon. The conversation ended there and silence surrounded them both once more.

It was another boring day for Rose. She'd been helping her father all day, so she decided to listen in on what her parents were talking about in the living room that night.

"We're loosing alot of buissness, we'll go poor if this keeps up..." Rose's father whisperd to her mom. Her Mother shook her head and replyed:
"I know we are, and I know we hoped not to resort to doing this, but I'm afraid we might have to..."

"Sarah, I am not giving our daughter to a tyrant! She deserves better, she has a life, I think she could become a bookseller way after I'm gone..."

"We have no choice! We can become poor, or we can hand Sabrina to him, and have enough money to live."

Rose had heard enough. She stood up and snuck cafully back up to her small room, and opened the tall, heavy window that showed the roof of the house beside it. Being a theif, it would have been sneaky to go in as his wife, but then, then it would be to obvious...and he is a sicko, rose thought. 'Damnit. I have no other choice, either I stay and become a friggin perverted guy's wife, or I become a full time thief. Who knows, I might steal something cool, and sell it...'

She jumped over to the roof the next house, and picked up the pole she'd placed there. Slowly, she extended the pole over to the window she had just jumped out of, and tapped the window to make it slam shut.

'I'm not commin' back this time, father.' she thought, and she thew away the pole. Taking one last look at her home, she turned and snuck out into the night.

I ran silently along the rooftops, keeping an eye for any movement...but there was none.

I knew something was wrong...and sooner or later...something or someone would strike...but I took this as my chance to get closer to the mansion, which my target so comfortably lived in.

I knew that someone would try to stop me...because in this city...the walls had ears...and one conversation...even in the shelter of a lone room with only one other person...someone would find out...and that's why I had to take such caution.

I swiftly jumped to the next rooftop, and now I could see the huge mansion with it's shadow lurking over the part of the city that was unlucky enough to be that close.

I jumped to the next rooftop, and instantly knew someone was near.

I stopped, and crouched to the shingles of the house, and listened.

"I see you still haven't lost your touch Klave." I looked over in disgust, it was my least favorite member of the anti-faction I was in to say the least about him.

"Why...if it isn't Jake Usidia...I've been blessed to not have to look at your ugly face for this long..." I said darkly, looking at the man, standing on the adjacent house.

"Oh...I thought you would have been more happy to see an old friend..." he said in a teasing voice, with that same jerky smirk plastered on his ugly face.

"What are you doing here? I had hoped to never have to look at you again..." I spat, standing up, and facing him.

"I've been hired..." He smirked.

"I thought you didn't take on jobs..." I said, getting annoyed at his very presence.

"Oh...but this is a very special job...one that I've found...that I would like very much..." He bowed his head, letting the shadows cover his eyes, yet...I could still see the whites of his eyes...staring merciless toward me.

"And what is this...special job...?" I asked, making sure that I had a weapon within quick reach.

His hand limply drooped as he lifted his arm.

"You my very unlucky friend..." He said, after his finger was pointing at me.

My hand snapped, I heard a sliding noise, followed soon after by a projectile flying off in a different direction.

"...You've become faster Klave...but that won't save you...for you see...I am the better of the two of us." He smirked, glaring what seemed to be strait through my eyes.

"Hmm...if i can recall right...I believe that it was me, that was always the victor..." I frowned, holding my sword out in front of me.

The pupils of his eyes suddenly expanded, and he was nowhere to be seen.

It was night time, and as always, Jessie and her and the rest of the ATF were as busy as ever. Their base was located far down below the warehouse in which they manufactured nutrition capsules. That was their 'legal' way of making money. They had been in operation for 3 years now, and the Tyrants had no clue at all that this activity was happening. Only very few citizens of Cecsion knew this operation even exsisted and even fewer from other cities. She was working on a new assignment from one of their customers, to transfer stuff from one city to another. Her and her team worked on stuff like this all the time. This was one of the easier tasks. They also worked like a bank. Storing money for families just in case. Like insurance, something for them to fall back on should the families become caught.
Jessie sighed. She was in a storage room sitting on the floor with large boxes, crates and packages surrounding her. All of them contained items that were supposed to be delivered sometime in the following week. She logged each crate and what was inside, and to whom it would be going to. You could never be too careful.

"Come on Jess. We're going on coffee break. You've been working for 4 hours straight! You're our leader and you need to be well rested at all times just incase something dramatic should happen." said Derick. He was one of her most loyal members. Derick, the same age, was her best friend actually.

"Just a while longer. I'm almost finished this- HEY!!!!" Derick grabbed the clipboard that she was holding and held it behind his back.

"Nope. That's not going to do it. Last time I let you have your way, you didn't come until 2 hours later. xp You're comming right now." said Derick as he put the clipboard down on one of the boxes. He then took Jessie by the arm and pulled her down the hallway into the kitchen.

"Fine... But only a short break. I don't want to fall behind." grumbled Jessie.

"Fall behind on what?? You're the boss of this operation. You're the one setting the rules. Why don't you just change them. You won't be behind then." mocked Derick as he started to make them both a drink.

"I'll be behind in my mind. I have to set these rules for myself to follow. If I slack off, I may pick up that bad habit and-" Jessie was cut off by Derick again.

"And blah blah blah. Yeah yeah... I know. That's why we all love you as our fearless and on schedual leader. Come on Jessie, loosen up! You know I'm just playing with you!" joked Derick as he handed Jessie a warm coffee.

" xp Thanks." she said as she took a sip. She was actually grateful for this break. She really needed to get away from it all sometimes. She was thankful that she had Derick around.

"Jessie!! Jessieeeeeeeee???" Yelled someone running down the hallway who just passed the room.

"In here!!" she called. The person came in panting.

"What's wrong Vyr? (pronounced Veer)" asked Jessie as she put her coffee down.

"It's one of the insiders M'am. Chek is his name. He told me to give you this report." Vyr handed over a note. Jessie took the letter and it read it out loud:

Dear Jessie,
Today was my third day being one of of Salimar's guards. I know my way around the palace fairly well now, and I've made some new friends. One friend asked me all about the ATF and he seemed very keen on getting out of the cities. When I looked in his eyes, I saw the same determination that I often see in you. His name is Rageadon Greval. A 27 year old who's one of Salimar's most loyal guards, so I've heard. However, when he speaks to me, it's like he can't wait to get away from him even with the kind of money he makes. Tonight, he requested to be able to speak with you. I think he wants to find out more about our association. He told me he wanted to know if he could be snuck from city to city too. I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem to sneak him. But I don't know whether we can trust him yet, so right now I'll monitor his actions to see what his real intentions are.
-Chek-»

"Alright. Thank you for this letter Vyr. You're free to leave." nodded Jessie as she left the note on the table. Vyr saluted and left the room to go back to his station in a hurry.

"So... About this Rageadon guy... What do you think of Chek's judgement Jess?" asked Derick.

"Well... We're going to have to rely on Chek's reports to know what happens in Urnaih. We've only got 3 insiders in that city and he's the closest we have to Salimar right now. Rageadon could proove a useful ally if his intentions are right. Only time will tell." said Jessie as she took another sip from her mug.

"You look gorgeous."

Mrs. Salamore stepped back and stared at her daughter in her wedding dress. "The man will be very pleased with you."

"Mother!" Venus cried. "How can you say such a thing without at least a tinge of guilt! Why must you make me do such a thing?!"

Mr. and Mrs. Salamore had arranged their oldest daughter, Venus, to wed the tyrant, Salimar Usuki. The thought of "Mrs. Usuki #28" sickened her. She had fought with her parents so many times to make them reconsider, but she could not get through.

"Why must you make me do this?!" Venus would scream. "What if your father had made you marry him mother?! What if you couldn't love the man you wanted to?!"

"It's for the best," her mother said cooly. "you will be happy to live in a nice place."

"But this is a nice place! I wouldn't want to go anywhere else!" she protested.

"Listen hear, Venus!" her father cried. " This life is depressing! We barely make enough money to support ourselves! You shall live as the master's wife instead of live here! You will be happy!"

"I'll never be happy there! I will not bear that man's children!"

There was always a moment of silence before she would run to her room and cry. But now, she's stopped her fight. Venus stared into her mother's eyes, so admiring.

"Yes he will be pleased," Venus mumbled coldly. "Pleased to set me free once I'm done with him.."

~Steping into the Doves Delight the bar that Kaira worked in, she came face to face with the owner. "Yes?" she asked with a stern look, "you're late again Kai....do it again and you lose your job." The ownder said to her as he looked towards some customers.

Kaira made her way over to the bar and picked up a tray with some drinks on, "look, I'm the best one you have here, so if you want to stop the business then go ahead, but on your head be it." She said with a small smile then made her way over to one of the tables.

The owner looked toward her and shook his head, "what am I going to do with that girl? She's so smart...just so helpless." "You can't stop her doing what she wants, she's grown up now...and you know she will never give what others want." One of the barmen said as he watched Kaira slap a hand away from her thigh.

Kaira looked around and thought, "what am I going to do here?" She shook her head then made her way over to another table and took their orders then made her way over to the bar.~

"RAGEADON!!!" yelled Salimar from inside the throne room. Rageadon came running down the hallway and then entered. It was the morning after his talk with Chek.

"Yes my lord?" he asked as he bowed.

"Ah!! There you are! Are the preperations ready? I am getting married today and I want absolutely nothing but the best." said Salimar as he picked a tie from a rack that was conveniently next to him. There were tailors, shoesmiths, jewlers and other people all helping the tyrant get dressed.

"Yes, the preparations are ready but... You're getting married again?? Sir... Isn't 27 wives enough??" Rageadon asked. All of a sudden, everyone in the room stopped what they were doing as Salimar stared at Rageadon.

"Do you question MY methods in MY city, soldier?" Salimar said in a loud and commanding voice that many people in his city feared.

"No my lord. What I'm implying is... Who will be your one true heir? All your children will want a piece of your throne some day... How will you divide your fortune among so many??" said Rageadon hastedly, but with reason.

"Hmm... I have never pondered that idea for too long. I suppose I'll just have to pick one that suits me the most." chuckled Salimar.

"Sir... I've heard of men who keep on divorcing until they reach their 27th wife, but you... You keep all your wives and aquire even more! Don't your other wives complain? How do you do it?" ask Rageadon. Salimar laughed at that remark.

"You sure are one of many questions Rageadon. It is true though... My wives fuss some times, but I suspect that it is because they love me so much and become jealous. But what can they do? I provide them with everything they need! As for how I do it... Perhaps I shall tell you a little secret... You can use the information I'm about to tell you to aquire a wife or two yourself. I'm sure women find you attractive. But not as attractive as me of course... So I will help you." boasted Salimar with a cunning smile. Rageadon clenched his fist behind his back at that comment.

scream "If you didn't steal MY love, I WOULD have one." he thought angrily in his mind.

"Do tell me, 'o glorious one. stare " said Rageadon sarcastically.

"Well... You see... Over the years, I have aquired a charm like no other. You must find your own way with that. Anyways... You must treat each of your wives equally, should you have more than one. You must at least pretend to listen to whatever they talk or preech about, even if you don't really want-" Rageadon tuned out of that converstation and pretended to listen to what Salimar said. He really shouldn't have tried to make conversation with the Tyrant. What was worst than serving him, was listening to his meaningless chatter. He would just smile, nod and agree with whatever Salimar said.

"So did you learn a lot today?" asked Salimar, finally at the end of his speech.

"Oh, yes my lord! Plenty! Thank you. I shall remember your kind advisory for as long as I live." said Rageadon with fake enthousiasm. It worked. Salimar looked pleased with himself.

"Well... If everything is ready to begin. There is one last thing I wish before you go Rageadon... Will you be my best man?" he asked as he was finally done getting dressed. The tailors in the room looked tired, but pleased with their work which Salimar wore.

"Y-Your best man sir?" asked Rageadon. He didn't expect that this would happen.

"Oh come on now. Don't tell me you haven't eyed the position before. I know that many soldiers dream to be offered an honor like that. You are my best soldier. It would only be right if you were the best man at my wedding as well." said Salimar as he posed in the mirror while practicing his smiles.

"Very well. I am honored. I shan't let you down." said Rageadon as he bowed once more.

"Good good!! Go prepare yourself then. I will see you at dinner time, before the ball. You are dismissed" said Salimar. He seemed rather pleased.

Rageadon left in a hurry. For one, it was as if something inside him was trying to come out. He guessed it was his rage.

"I need to calm down. I have to control myself and my feelings. The right time will come soon... I WILL have an oppertunity to take my revenge... Just not right now." thought Rageadon. He quickly made his way around the palace to his private quarters.

"This is disgusting..." Raniya clenched her teeth, as she walked around the walls of Central City. The air wreaking of human and shop stench. This wasn't her normal route to work, but Raniya felt like she needed a change. Moreover, to get out of the putrid city. She wanted to escape from the fear of being captured and killed by their tyrant Casa Von Wanga. Mostly, the cities limits.

She walks between an ally, of the small shacks that her community lived in. A small cat mewed, and leaned against a shack's wall, to support itself. Raniya couldn't stand it, They must have missed this one! She thought in both a happy and sad manner. She briskly walked over to the cat, trying not to spook it. She scooped it up in her hands, and held it to her chest. The cat rubbed against her neck, Raniya's fingers feeling the poor creatures ribs. She ran to the weapon shop, and flung open the door. Tuino, the weapons master grunted at her sudden arrival.

"Where have you been? You're later than usual." He gave her a questioning look.

"Erm....sorry, I took a different route." She replied with a tinge of sorrow in her voice. "Can I go to the supply room, real quickly? I found a cat, and I wanted to feed it.."

"A CAT?!" Tuino stared at the lump in her trenchcoat, near her chest. "FINE. Don't let Von Wanga's idiots catch you. He'll kill you AND that cat for sure."

Slowly, the Salamore family began to venture into Urniah, to the residence of the tyrant. Everyone had a solemn look on their face, especially Venus. Marrying a tyrant... was she really going to be just another high class broad?

The people on the streets stared at her, either giving their luck, or mumbling some cuss. It was either you loved or hated the ruler... no neutrality.

Venus looked to the sky. It was mainly cloudly; not your typical nsky for a wedding. But then... she thought maybe this marriage could come to her advantage. maybe... it could be her ticket out of Urniah, out to the great unknown.

I backflipped, dodging yet another projectile, then stopped, trying to catch my breath before trying to get closer to him again.

"You will never get past my defenses...if that's what your waiting for..." He called out, dully looking at his nails...or at least it seemed like that.

"...I didn't want to do this...." I clenched my teeth, pulling out my gun, aimed, and shot all in the matter of a second.

I heard a grunt, and blood started to soak his shirt...but it hadn't hit him in any vital place...he moved too fast.

I could hear men's voices from below, and new that the guards had heard my last attack.

I looked at Jake, who now had a furious look on his face, and I quickly put away the gun, and unsheathed my second sword.

"I'll meet you down there..." I smirked jumping through and opening between the rooftop.

I was immediately surrounded on every side by guards...something I was not expecting.

I smirked, and ran for the closest man, slicing him in half. but immediately every guard was trying to kill me.

I defended the best I could, smacking away any blade close enough to be a threat, and even taking out a couple guards...but there was too many of them.

My teeth clenched, as I felt cold steel pierce through my skin, from behind.

but it wasn't just a slash...someone had thrust it.

My knees gave out, and I coughed up blood on the cobblestone, trying to hold myself up.

"STOP! he is not to be killed...yet at least..." I recognized the voice as Jake's, and looked up, seeing a man getting ready to finish me off.

"Heh...looks like I didn't have to do anything..." Jake smirked, as he pulled my head up by my hair. "...get him out of my sight..." He ordered, then walked away.

~Kaira yawned as she looked toward the sky, "I heard there was to be a wedding somewhere today." Her friend Dal said, "really? And that's news to me because?" Kaira turned her eyes to Dal, he had always been there for her no matter what, she loved him like a brother and yet she stil pined for the one who was truly her brother. "Because I got out and then heard that." "How did you get out....?" She asked, her eyes narrowing knowing he was being sneaky again. "You know me Kai....loads of ways." "In other words you mean Jess." Kaira stood up from her place and brushed the grass from her fness, "I have to get back...they will bne wondering where I got to." She started to make her way down to the training arena when she turned back to Dal.

Dal being the twit that he was threw her sword at her, she dodged his attack and griped the hilt tightly. Smiling at him she waved then made her way back.
"Kaira! You know you are not mean to be late!" Her teacher yelled, "Like I went anywhere....you need to lighten up, everyone is so scared and then there is me. The one who does give a damn." She smirked then made her way back over to the desk to work on a few things.
'How am I going to keep this mask up? Maybe one day...' She thought to herself as she turned the pages in an old book full of dust.~

Raniya held the bottle of milk for the small kitten. It's eyes shone with a happy glow. As the kitten suckled, Raniya sighed. She thought of another way to get out of the city. She knew none of her plans would ever work.

"C'mon Raniya, We have WORK to do!" Tuino yelled up from the main store room.

"COMING!" Raniya replied, with less enthusiasim that usual. She made a nest in burlap bags for the kitten, and gently tucked her in the nest. She then went to Tuino.

"What do you need?" She asked him.
"I need some crossbar arrows, and twenty-eight iron arrows." He replied as he fiddled with a loose bolt in a 'modern' (for them) day gun. Raniya trudges back to the supply closet, and goes through the boxes of arrows, trying to find iron arrows.

"Rageadon!"

Rageadon immediately recognized the voice from behind him. It was Rianin.

"Rianin! What are you doing here?" said Rageadon from inside his room. He was getting dressed.

"I just wanted to talk to you because I..." she said as she closed the door behind her. Rageadon knew where this was leading to. They had been over this discussion many times before.

"Please... Rianin. As much as I want to get out of here, as much as I want us to be together... We must wait for the right opportunity. We cannot just run away from-"

"But Rageadon! He is getting married AGAIN! He'll forget all about me, he won't need me anymore to be around. So we can leave! I definately don't need him either! Not back then, not now, not ever. I just..." Rianin broke into tears. Rageadon walked over to her and put his arms around her.

"Please... Rianin. You have to be strong and hang in there."

"But Rageadon, you keep on telling me that! I can't hold on forever... I just can't take it anymore... I just love you too much. I don't want to be trapped in this pretend love forever."

"I know... I know but isn't love worth all the hardships in life? Isn't it worth living for? Dying for? Just think of this as a test of our love. It'll soon be over. Just know that someday we WILL be free from this. Trust me."

"Ray... Of course I trust you! You know I'd do anything for you." she said as she embraced him and looked up into his clear blue eyes. They kissed momentarily.

"Listen... We may have a way out, sometime soon. I've heard of a group called the Anti-Tyrant Forces. They may be able to help us. I'll try finding out more... But for now, please refrain from doing anything dramatic. Well... You should get going now. We wouldn't want to make it seem suspicious that you are here."

Rianin lightly kissed him on the lips and then ended the embrace. She said a silent "I love you" before leaving.
