Also...in the new series the doctor said he 'was a Dad once' in I think Fear her or something.

I have often wondered where Susan fits into the new series. Whether or not Susan was intended to be related to the Doctor doesn't change the fact that in the end they went and said she was his granddaughter. It is also true that she was left presumably stranded on earth. It is my understanding that Susan got left on earth in the future, way before today and Rose and all.
So the question remains did she get married and have children? If she was on earth, maybe she was still there during the time war and wasn't destroyed with her home planet. Or perhaps she has children running around. For the most part, the new series has not just ignored the old one, except for the one glaring concept of Susan. Considering that the Doctor has indeed mentioned he was a father once, it isn't unreasonable to assume Susan might become a factor in future episodes. Although if she is going to appear in the new series, they're taking their sweet time about it.

Well, I think that if there were any way he could go to Susen in the new series, he would have. Maybe at some point...just after the time war? he could have visited her and saw her die? And it's not in flux so he can't change it or anything? 'cause I don't know why he wouldn't go for her...

As for the Doctor being half human...I thought that was just in a TV-movie that producers have said dosen't count anymore? I don't know, I'm confused.

Okay, one. If she was on Gallifrey, which is possible, she's gone now and that entire event with the Time War was time-locked so it can't be revisited or altered, or I'm sure he'd go back in a heartbeat to try and save his loved ones. The only reason Dalek Caan got through for Davros was through a (plot) hole in time. xD

Two. If she's on Earth, why'd he wanna go back and see her, even if she didn't see him? It's like with meeting Sarah Jane again: Four left her behind on Earth and knew if he went back to visit, she'd be upset at him and he'd also have to say goodbye again. And that's no fun.

Besides, who wants to go back just to see someone die? Rose only did because she never knew her dad, and she didn't want him to be alone. She was still all upset, and with the way the Doctor's been going more angsty/emo in the new series, that's the last thing he needs.

One more thing: She wouldn't recognize him now. She knows about regenerations (she was in The Five Doctors) but with his newer outfits, he even blends in more.

She's not.

The Cardiff offices very carefully monitor the Big Finish audios to make sure that they don't end up accidentally telling similar stories to the TV series or end up causing any major continuity crashes.

This December's Eighth Doctor story is called An Earthly Child and sees Eight reunite with Susan (and meet her child).

If the TV series was going anywhere near Susan, they'd have vetoed this.

Sorry to necro this, but this is something I've done a fair bit of research on.

First, keep in mind that the only things considered canon at this point are the classic series, the new novels and the new comics. Allthe rest are iffy until the producers say otherwise.

Note I said the comics. This is key. Why? Because in a recent one (The Forgotten) the Doctor mentions that he once used the Chameleon Arch to fool an enemy. This story apparently predates Human Nature, and apparently was meant to solve the half-human problem of the film.

Susan? besides being bloody useless (except in The Sensorites), she drops hints. In AUC we learn Susan and the Doc are from another Time and place. In TFD, Susan recognizes Gallifrey. Yup, she's his granddaughter.

Its.Me.Pippin!
Maybe Susan was never a time lord is there any evidence of this? sweatdrop

Maybe the doctor found her when she was younger and took her in? confused

If she is a time lord I bet there's some kid running round London like a mini doctor. I bet if the doctor had any great great grandkids they'd have a high IQ and a love for science lol

I'm pretty sure in the first episode, Susan referred to Gallifrey as "Ours" (Hers and the Doctor's), and also aliens aren't allowed on Gallifrey so I think from that we can say that she is a Time Lord/Lady thing.
