I love the way Mike told the story about what happened to Tre in this modern rock interview (which also happens to be my favorite radio interview with Green Day EVER. besides the australian one, but yeah)
want to hear something crazy?
I totally wrote a song about thiiiiis.
(The Unicyle Song is the name of it.)
and I think it's pretty clever.

Alright, here goes.
THE UNICYLE SONG:
On a unicyle,
Tre rides around,
but then one day,
he hit the ground
he was spinning
but then he falls
and happened to land
on one of his balls
so rushed away
to the hospital was he
where the doctors poked
and fixed him for a fee
they sent him away
after they were complete
but he wasn't happy
with their ridiculous feat
he went back home
and pouted all day
"Why did this happen?
DUDE, this is gay"
mike tried to cheer him
with a phrase and a please
"Hey, its a story,
to tell at parties"
but Tre was sure
that the world would end
and no one would want
to be his best friend
he sat and he frowned
until Green Day's next show
and reluctantly got up
and drummed in the show
when it was over,
he rushed off to the back
sat alone in the room
wanting the ball that he lacked.
then a girl came in
and he nearly freaked
'She'd never want me,
I'm a one-baller freak!'
but even when he said,
"I only have one ball,"
she shrugged her shoulders,
and to her knees she did fall,
he closed his eyes
and the room did fade
Hey, even with one ball,
tre still could get laid
so now even though
he's not fully a man
and he's still made fun of
by some of his fans
he holds his head high
and is oh so proud,
he would put it in song,
and sing it out loud.
