My favorite is probably Soma. Alucard is cool and all...but Soma's confrontation of his own darkness is much intense then that of Alucard's.
Alucard simply has to acknowledge that he's a monster in form, but not in nature. Soma is a man who has to keep his personal demon at bay, or it'll take him over...that makes for a much better character.
