Fiver I recently started playing a campaign where I started out playing a CN bard with self-destructive tendancies. He got turn CE but a Deck of Many Things. Now he not only inflicts unneccissary misery on not only himself, but everyone around him. And yet, he still contributes enough to the party that they really really don't want to get rid of him. They don't even realize he's evil, yet, just miserable and maybe a little sadistic. What I hate are parody characters. Everyone wants to be Drizzt or that one halfling who doesn't notice when he steals stuff. stare Seriously, make up your own characters. He's a Kender.. you know.. from Kendermore. And his name is Tasslehoff Burrfoot heart

Tasslehoff = awesomeness.
If you hate Drizzt parodies, I think you'll love part of a comic I've been reading.
Goblins.

I'd say pre-made campaigns...they're so boring, unless you augment it in some way, which is a bit hard to do. neutral

Definitely with you there.
Unfortunately, sometimes that's the only way you get a fully thought-out campaign with three-dimentional monsters.

My most hated thing in DnD is when we dont have enough players, and the DM has to play a Deaf/Mute, but he gives all the greatest stuff and easiest challenges to his char.
Or DMs who make things too easy!
CHALLENGE ME!

You know what? I'm putting up with a DM character who's got it too easy right now. xp And you know what? It is annoying me. In my opinion, if there are too few PC's... work with it. They'll level up to meet the challenge sooner or later. Makes combat go a lot faster, too. wink

Hear, hear! Nothing wrong with a 3 person party!
I myself am currently having the opposite problem: A DM invited 8 people into the group, and they're all there.
Instead of a DMPC, we run into about 1 epic level NPC per week...and we're like 5th level.

Not to mention they all don't come all the time, and 5 out of the 8 people are constantly in fluz character wise, with new people appearing suddently and old people dieing or disapearing. It has gotten to be so bad one time when a player could not find the new character sheet instead played his diseased charater with absolutly no explanation on his sudden livelyhood. It is giving my gnome, the only orginal party member, a headache, luckly he can ask annoying questions because of it such as... "Weren't you dead just awile ago?" "Why are you grey?" "Why does everyone follow me?!"

I lasted a long time before I switched characters, but it seemed like everyone else had, and the character was both too serious and was focused on killing one particular type of monster that was never encountered, so what the heck?
But you, you stayed the course, buddy. I salute you.

My pet peve comes in the form of books outside of the Core Rulebooks and the class specific add-ons (Song and Silence, Sword and Fist, Tomb and Blood, Masters of the Wild, and Defenders of the Faith) being used in campaigns.
It's not because these books (aside from Campaign settings, like Ebberon, which should be used on their own.) aren't any good, but because I witness a lot of younger players (experience and age are a factor, here) purchasing as many of the new books as they can because they're "cool".
My favorite example is a kid who bought the Draconomicon and Rokugan (Rokugan is an amazing Campaign Setting. Leave it alone. crying ) and attempted to play a Dragon character in the Rokugan setting. The dragon was an attempted party member, amidst two Samurai and a Spiritfolk Ninja. >.o;;
Munchkins piss me off. Munchkins who refuse to admit they're munchkins piss me off even more. Munchkins who rationalize their munchkinism with "But it's in the book! It's okay!" piss me off the most.

When you stop and think about it, that's not too much different from a Drizzt clone.

This Black Dragon had levels as a Barbarian and tried to act like he was Peter Pan.
Drizzt would've killed him. >.>;
