genobee118 along with symphony x gamma ray opened the power metal door for me. i love rebellion in dream land The whole land of the free album is the one of my favorite metal albums, only surpased by 2 Maiden albums and a Heavenly album. Nevertheless it's an album I always enjoy listening to! By moonlight there's a way... for rebellion! here the world has gone astray... revolution! now the time has come to pray... halelujah! deep inside our minds we wait... for rebellion! here in dreamland we will not obey... The masters!Such a beautiful chorus indeed.

Thanx to Kai Hansen who improved a lot in the Power Metal gender, in fact some pleople call him the Father of the Power Metal, but that depends of many factors.
Gamma Ray for me is 1 of the best bands of Power Metal, the creativity of the band is expressed in their musical styles.
I would like to mention some of their best albums for me:
-Somewhere Out in Space -The Land of the Free -Blast From the Past -Heading for Tomorrow -No World Order -Powerplant

Stormbeard Metal Discharge gamma Rays pretty sick from what I've heard, Arent they like thrash power too? They're pretty much solid power. They have thrashy moments, but they're not really anything close to thrash. Yeah? Listen to The Heart of the Unicorn and say that again! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auuDWsMMO5A(that's a video to be listened to, not watched) I think what he means is this: Gamma Ray is a heavier brand of PM than many other PM artists. They, at times, draw close to thrash; yet as A While in Dreamland reveals, they can be mistaken for Queen (XD I kid you not!).

Gamma Ray are a Speed-based Power Metal band if anything, they use a lot of guitar playing which is quite unusual in Power Metal nowadays(they're not a modern band anyways), and well, in their guitar playing they incorporate a some cliched trhash techniques but that's as close as they get to thrash. Kai is just versatile like that. xp

Righto, now how about your favorite, yet under spoken of, songs. I don't mean Land of the Free and Rebellion in Dreamland, the one's most Rayniacs talk about ... other stuff.
Top 6 under-rated songs, GO!
1] Heaven Can Wait 2] Long Live Rock and Roll 3] Hellfire 4] How Long 5] Rich and Famous 6] A While in Dreamland
