daniel_jackson_sg1 I'm just saying that Elrond was supposed to be at the 'Last Allience Battle', but whoever's playing him in this RP is still in Rivendell... We only rescued Isildur... the huge battle that he was at (I think he was at more *looks at Falathrim*) hasn't happened yet.

Falathrim I find it horribly ironic that we spend 20,000 gold on a guild and then stop RPing. My last post was basically a well disguised bump, if you couldn't tell. I could tell. sweatdrop I think everyone is waiting for the bugs to sort themselves out.

Alright, well if Meneldil was born before the Downfall...Isilien can always be Anárion's second wife....first one was killed....that way we don't have to re-arrange anything and Meneldil won't have to be Half-elven. Anárion's other children can be played without any history re-arranging either.

Firstly, I don't care if we alter history and Numenorean culture to allow Isilien to exist. This is just a FYI for future members.
The Numenoreans, being more like the Eldar than Men, were entirely monogamous (and I don't think I didn't spell that right), so the odds of Isildur re-marrying if his wife died were about as great as Eru descending from the Timeless Halls and slaughtering each and every Man, Elf, and Ainu that walks Arda just because he lost a dare with Melkor.
And keep in mind that Meneldil is the youngest of the four children, meaning that the other three were also born in Numenor.
EDIT: Anarion. I meant Anarion.

You have two choices:
1) Alter what Tolkien said about Eldarin marriage greatly. 2) Alter Isilien's bio for Meneldil in much the same way that Kareswen's bio was altered to fit in Elendur. Its possible, but it also involves Isilien being stranded in Numenor for two hundred years.
I'd support either choice (though I'll be honest and say I myself would go for option two). If Miaka wants to keep her bio the way it is, that's fine. Really, Eldarin marriage is such a minor point I can't really say I'd go into a fit of depression if we changed it.

Keep in mind that Ar-Gimilzor, who wascrowned some 200 or so years before the Downfall, placed an upon ban upon all Eldar ever coming to Numenor. You might have to do what Kareswen and hide in Amandil's house for those 200 years while waiting for Anarion to first be born and second grow to adulthood. wink

Booyah! I fix my bio. I think it works.
Meneldil: Change the date of your birth back to 3299 SA.

See changing a character tends to be a challenge lol. I did that! I wanted Glorfirith to be in Gondolin and have Gil-Galad be her uncle and that certainly doesn't leave a very large window to play in.
*dances around* WEEEEEEEEEeeeee lol out of character! No one said that it had to make sense mwahahaha

So if Meneldil isn't Half-Elven is he an Elf? Because he's 126 years old.

ssjgotenks89 So if Meneldil isn't Half-Elven is he an Elf? Because he's 126 years old. I thought you said you read the books. stare You should know then, that the Numenoreans were incredibly long lived, and that their first king lived to the age of 500. So even without Elven blood, their life spand far exceed that of normal Men. Book Meneldil is all Man. RP Meneldil is Half-elven. I've said this to you several times now.
