Kirjava MeriThranduiliell Licorice Penguin I'm going in 2006, but my big brother went this year. He goes to NC State. For some reason, he changed his major from engineering (which he woulda been excellent at, being as he's so good at math and science) to English and literature. A lot of people do that, surprisingly. 3nodding Not really sure why, but there are a LOT of math type people who switch into english. (My boyfriend was originally a computer major, and he's now english) I was originally a psychology major, and I switched into english, focusing on literature. My English professor from last year tried to convince me to major in English. sweatdrop With all the shitty group work I'm doing in Psychology right now I almost regret not doing what she said. English is so much fun, and I'm really interested in it, but the essays freak me out. I always did fine on them, but the stress behind them drives me nuts. I know what you mean- I tend to do well on essays, but then get all stressed out about writing them. xp

I so HATE essays. That's one reason I decided NOT to major in English like all my friends are... I could have done well as a Math major, but I don't want that as a career. So, I'm a theater major. Acting is one of the few things I can actually picture myself enjoying if I spend my whole life on it. *grins*

VeetVoojagig I so HATE essays. That's one reason I decided NOT to major in English like all my friends are... I could have done well as a Math major, but I don't want that as a career. So, I'm a theater major. Acting is one of the few things I can actually picture myself enjoying if I spend my whole life on it. *grins* My drama queen. wink I actually don't mind essays. I'm good at spinning cunning phrases that my english teacher calls wordy and pretentious. I'm good with fiction. *grins*

I know what you mean- I tend to do well on essays, but then get all stressed out about writing them. xp I think my problem is that those kinds of essays involve planning and long, drawn-out work. I'm just no good at doing today what I could do tomorrow. I'm a massive procrastinator. I work so much better under pressure, which is why I usually leave essay writing to the last minute. I couldn't do that last year because my usual "stay up to three a.m. the night before it's due" routine was interrupted by having a roommate. I couldn't really stay up till 3a.m clacking away on my keyboard while she was trying to sleep. If there were English courses that were straight poetry analyses I so would have majored. Twice in that course we had to write a poetry analysis of a poem we had never seen within one hour. Both times, my professor told me that mine was the best in the class. I'm successful under pressure, and I'm good at pulling stuff out of my a**. XD Shadow calls me the Queen of Bullshit.
