"Like the solid blue canvas that reflects the WATER OF YOUR SOUL? Because really, the color and its blueness should speak to you that way," Dusky replies snarkily while she turns a right down a hallway.

"And there's totally an arcade. There's Pac-Man and Space Invaders. Someone for once didn't go ga-ga over damn DDR." she reassures.

"At least the...'water of your soul' painting would be a landmark. It would say, 'yes Brad, you have passed by here once allready." He readjusts his glasses and rolls his sleeves up out of lack of things to do with his hands. "DDR's not so bad, but light gun games are kinda fun too."

"And then after the 7th time it'd say 'yes Brad, I'm mocking you'. I think you'd have better luck taking a sharpie and making marks on the walls. And if someone yells, you can say a dead guy did it or something." Dusky offers, tching. "DDR's made for people with legs long enough to fling themselves at widely spaced arrows and not die." Which translated to 'I have really shitty coordination and generally kill myself trying to get a passing grade on Butterfly'.

"Light guns can be cool."

Brad scoffs, "That's just stupid, the dead here can barely pick up anything at all, much less hold a marker long enough to make marks on a wall to remind themselves where they've been."

He shrugs a little. "Not nescessarily, the longer legs you have, the farther you fall."

Dusky rolls her eyes and gives a derisive snort,"Well 'scuuuuse me for giving you a vaguely legitimate excuse for vandalism. I'll remember to keep my trap shut next time."

"And I've got just as far to fall off a counter trying to climb up to reach something as a really tall person does if he trips."

Brad shakes his head. "You're not that short, now you're just dramatizing." He holds a door open for her as they pass through the maze that is the Albra building. "You keep saying you're that short, and I'll feed you the cookies I'm making to you on the floor, just so you can reach them."

The door opening for her elicits some sort of amazed yet also pleased stare with a mumbly thank you, but then Dusky goes right back to the snarky at the threat. She squints at him and 'nyahs', sticking out her tongue for accent. "Would you *really* ever willingly put some cookies you just baked on the floor?" He dressed too nicely for her to really believe it.

"If it was on a plate, yes," he replies, simply, adjusting his sleeves again so he could easily itch the inside of his elbow. Brad shuts the door after them and follows her, "But not that many. Maybe like, two at a time. So you'd have to keep begging for more."

"I'm a really poor beggar though. I'd prolly just end up scaling the counter like some kind of Mt. Everest and eating them all. O: I only beg if I'm getting money out of it." She gives a little twirl on her heel, walking backwards so she can look at him while she's talking. Or at least, in his general direction. "Now, for $10 you'll get a pout, and for $20 you'll get something like this."

Dusky takes a deep breath and lets it out, and when she does conjures the face of some bedraggled, frazzled puppy that's been kicked several times too many. "Oh sir, I'm sorry your service today's been so horrible. Please, let's give you a discount on all these items here, just don't tell my boss or... he'll get really upset with me." She drops the act like a bad habit after finishing the sentence. "But that'd get really annoying really quick."

Brad stopped dead in his tracks.

"What was that? That was scary," he told her, after drawing a deep breath. "Do you really do that? Actually, better question, does that actually work?"

"It's in the basic retail survival guide. It's a power I've sworn to use for the forces of good. Mostly because evil to me is a mile long line of rich bitchy people the day after Christmas." Dusky reassures, and makes a face at the mental image she just gave herself of such a scene. "And... it doesn't work as often as I'd like. But at least it keeps the stupid people from asking 'Are we having a BAD DAY today? Why's that?' like it's being cute or something."

"Huh. I suppose that's true," Brad shrugged, yawning a little and scratching his jaw. He idly looked around and stretched, his hands above his head. "Ah, there's the kitchen."

He dropped his arms and headed for the door once he recognized it, and opened the double doors for Dusky so she could pass through, feeling comforted by the sight of marble counter tops, deep kitchen sinks and stainless steel equipment.

Somehow in life Dusky could manage to seem pleased and a bit won over without smiling. Somehow. To everyone it prolly still looked like the same old grump face.

She could get used to having doors opened for her, if only for the fact him doing it probably looked really funny since even when he slouched there was still a good bit of space between the bottom of his chin and the top of her head. "At least they keep it open all the time. Suck to have the 3 am munchies and no way to get at the fridge."
