"Well, I have to say that's refreshing. The majority of our transfers have been... less than friendly." Kai smiled wryly, wrote something on her slate, then set it aside. "And that's all I need for now. I'll let the Senior Weyrwoman know of your arrival just as soon as possible." Kai stood and tugged on her breeches slightly.
"For now, would you like to get something to eat or should I take you to the Headwoman to get you your quarters?"

D'min shrugged in reply. " I think that i would prefer to get my quarters first, then get something to eat, if you do not mind, Jr.Weyrwoman..." He replied smoothly, a grin entering his blue eyes. From his shoulder, Ciel chirped, obviously approving of the decision.
We go get place... then Food! The small flit declared, his eyes whirling happily as he literally bounced up and down with enthusiasm, his wings fluttering like a Terran hummingbird

Kai nodded and slipped her socked feet into a pair of riding boots, not bothering to lace them up. "This way."
Leading the way out the door and knowing he would follow, Kai made her way down to the kitchens, hoping that the Headwoman would be there. Flamewing flew ahead of them, stretching her wings on the trip down.
(Okay, gotta make up an NPC quick...)
"Krista!" Kai called upon reaching the busy kitchens. Flamewing chirped and swooped over to a rather nearby figure, flying in the air around the woman.
Said-older woman with a few strands of gray in her ash brown hair turned and looked at Kai, then smiled broadly. "Junior Weyrwoman. What can I do for you?"
"This is D'min, rider of White Yuroneth, and he has just transferred from Ista," Kai explained.
"Rooms?"
"Rooms," the blonde agreed, smiling more widely.
"All right, let me see what I have. If you'll follow me, rider, I'll find you somewhere decent to put your things," Krista offered, inclining her head politely to him, making the clear casualness she held with Kai more obvious, despite the way Krista had called her "Junior Weyrwoman".
"Well, if that's settled, I have a few things I need to run and take care of. D'min, I leave you in very capable hands, I assure you." Kai smiled and held out her hand to him. "I'm sure I will see you around?" She made the words a polite and friendly question.

(latelatelate post)
D'min followed her obediently as she headed down towards the kitchen, pausing as the Jr Weyrwoman called the Headwoman over and began a conversation with her, half-listening as he glanced around the kitchens, noting where things were for later use.
Turning back at the mention of rooms, he nodded to Krista. " Thank you, Headwoman." he replied, smiling at her softly, then at Kai, taking her hand. " It was a pleasure to meet you, Jr Weyrwoman and i hope we meet again soon."

C'nor and Selene both emerged from the back of the kitchen. They were immersed in a conversation when C'nor noticed Kai and an unfamilar person enter.
"Hey Kai." C'nor greeted with a cavalier bow. "How is the Junior Weyrwoman today?"
Selene gave a polite smile, but said nothing. Kai was a nice girl and all, but Selene found Kai to be too sickeningly perfect to really bother to make friends with her. Of course, she figured that Kai wouldn't even bother with her anyways with Selene being a lowly greenrider and all.
Selene gave a mental snort at that last thought. A lowly greenrider. Ha. She'd like to see any weyrwoman do a green's job during threadfall. Most of the Weyrwomen Selene had met had seemed too delicate to actually fight thread, with the exception of Fiacha of course.
Back to those thoughts again, Selene? How many times do I have to tell you that you are not a lowly person, and I am not a lowly dragon. Ratanath's sleepy voice came into her head.
Of course you are not lowly! You are braver then any of those silly mating females. I am just tired of the prejudice attitudes towards us just because you are a green. That's all.
((He he...I'm back, but I'm rusty with these characters, so please bear with me. Thank you.))

(... I'm going to assume that that was just Selene's opinion of Kai just on outward appearances as opposed to a subtle slight to me....)
Kai smiled in a pleased fashion at D'min's cavalier attitude, then turned her head as C'nor and Selene walked up.
"Good afternoon, C'nor, Selene," she greeted, smiling brightly. "I'm doing well. What about you? Do you two have anything planned for this afternoon?" Her blue eyes turned from C'nor to Selene as she dropped D'min's hand so that Krista could show him to his rooms.
"If you'll just follow me, rider? We'll have you set in no time."

(( stare Of course it's just Selene's attitude towards Kai...I'm just trying to spice things up with Selene not liking queenriders in general and show her contempt to the attitude that greens aren't worth too much. I would NEVER attack anyone through RP. If I really thought that about you, I would've have said something by now. Trust me, I'm not afraid to voice my opinions.))
C'nor smiled at Kai. "I believe we are doing fine. Aren't we, Selene?" he replied, putting a friendly arm around Selene's shoulders.
Selene just gave another polite smile. "Yes, I believe so."
C'nor's smile grew. "We really don't have anything planned. We were just going to see where our travles took us. What about you, Kai? Anything major planned, mi'lady?"
Selene's forest eyes caught Kai's blue ones for a moment. In that moment, a fierce pride flared up and Selene stood up straighter. She would give Kai no reason to look down upon her.

August watched the coming and going of the people in and out of the dinning hall, delaying the time when he would have to go and do those chores he'd been assigned. He was going to be stuck inside the tunnels today on snake duty, and the thought really irked him. He sighed as he shoved his feet away from the table and stood to stretch. He would go and do it, because that was how he was paying his way to be here right now, and he firmly believed in paying your way. He just wished that it was outside that he was doing his paying.
Scooping up the remans of his meal, he got rid of the plates before leaving, walking out of his way to past by the orange/blue rider. Making just enough noise for her to look up so that he could wink at her before moving on.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ashke was absorbed in her meal when she hear another person walk by and looked up. It was a young man, probably a candidate or such. She had just enough time to register that when he winked at her and moved on. Ashke sat there blinging at his back as he left. Of all the....who does that little kid think he is!
What kid? Myth asked, picking up her thoughts, interested and curious.
Ashke played back the scene for him in her mind, and mentally hear Myth's chuckle. Maybe you should ask him.
Not in this life time! Ashke snorted, then went to dispose of her bowl and mug, which where now empty.
(El- No offense meant unto you. I figured that was the case, I was just double checking.)
Kai shook her head. "Work, work, work and more work. However, what else is new?" The smile she was wearing grew wry. "I just hope I can get it all done today so that I can enjoy some spare time later on. Oh! Speaking of- I have to run. I promised M'tri that I'd help him and I need to finish it before I spend time with S'tesch."
The bronze rider who had been mentioned earlier was currently quite displeased.
Quite displeased.
Before Kai, S'tesch had his problems with jealousy, but his ladyfriends had a tendency to be gone before he formed any serious attatchments. The Prism rider he had taken up with, however, was a rather permanent attatchment and the thought that Zimith may not be the one to claim her bothered him.
Not to mention the time she was spending with that new Shadow rider. Who could fly Regalth, who could be a serious threat to S'tesch's relationship. Well, certainly Kai didn't spend any more time with him than she did with any of her friends; however, when she had told him the night before that she couldn't spend time with him until she had helped M'tri with something-or-other that he couldn't remember, his blood began to boil and his thoughts to race, leaving him in his current mood.
By the time S'tesch had thought of all this, his jealousy was at peak levels and his mood had gone from bad to worse. In an attempt to calm his rider, Zimith had suggested some time away from the Weyr, but S'tesch had refused, and so Zimith had soared down to the lake by his lonesome.
S'tesch, you must stop thinking on this. Kaivani is your weyrmate now, not his. This is not a matter to be concerned with until it truly becomes a matter.
I can't just ignore it and hope it goes away. I'm... dear Faranth, I'm acting the part of the jealous lover. You're right, I should calm down, it's just... augh, thinking of her with someone else makes my blood boil.
Zimith sent S'tesch feelings of warmth and love, but privately he felt that the relationship between Kai and S'tesch- no matter how outwardly perfect- would end, be it sooner or later.
(('Tis kool.))
C'nor nodded. "Of course, mi'lady. I hope that you finish your work and find some time for fun."
With that, he gave a little bow. Selene just rolled her eyes at C'nor's chivalry.
Of course everyone goes out of their way to show courtesy to the queenriders, and then turn around treat the greenriders little better then Lower Cavern women. She thought, emitting a small growl.
C'nor looked at her. "What?"
Selene shook her head. "Nothing." She replied before storming out of the kitchens.
(I'm trying to decide if I should go after Selene... I really want to.)
Kai stared at the departing greenrider, looking concerned rather than offended. "Selene!" She called, then looked at C'nor when she got no reply. "Will... will she be all right? Shouldn't we go after her or something?"
Outside on the ledge, Regalth stirred, shifting uncomfortably with her rider's emotions.
What's wrong, Kaivani?
Nothing, sweet. Kai turned her face to look out the doorway again, seriously contemplating following Selene. Just a little concerned with a greenrider is all. I think I may have offended her in some way.
Perhaps her green is proddy.
Regalth!
I do not mean that rudely, I am just pointing out the possibility. Her actions could be a result of her green being ready to rise, if she is old enough.
I don't think that's it... but you're right, it is a possibility.
Kai frowned slightly in contemplation, staring at the door for another long moment. She finally looked back at C'nor with a smile. "Forgive me for ignoring you for a moment; I was speaking with Regalth."
(Tektek is gone! *Looks horrified* The website no longer exists! Where did it go? WHERE?!)
((If Kai wants to go after Selene, go right ahead.WHAT?! I was just on TekTek the other day.))
C'nor watched stunned as Selene quickly departed. He shrugged when Kai asked if they should go after her. "I don't know...I don't even know what's wrong with her. She's been acting like this for a while now...since Impressing Ratanath, I think."
What's wrong? Tenath asked, stirring slightly from the ledge he was loundging on.
Selene's act funny again. C'nor replied.
Meanwhile, Selene had reached the ledge that Ratanath was on and had her arms around the green's neck.
I'm tired of it, Ratty. I'm tired of being treated so badly by most of the riders; I'm tired of them always asking when you will rise, thinking that that is a green's main purpose, but most of all, I'm tired of the lack of attention that greenriders get while the queens and their riders get all the praise for dragonkind. She thought.
I'm sorry for that, love. the green replied, lowering her head to nuzzle her rider. Let's go to the lake and swim. It will do you some good to get outside after being stuck insider recovering from your threadscore.
Selene just nodded as she mounted Ratanath.
(*nods frantically* Tektek was totally offline! Just poof! Gone! *Checks again* Wait... wait for it... Yay! It's back! ^^)
"I'm going after her," Kai decided, then ran from the room before C'nor could follow. With a startled squeak, Firewing betweened away as well, presumably to follow her mistress.
Regalth?
Ratanath and her rider are still in the Weyr, Regalth replied without needing to hear the rest, shaking out her wings and standing.
If they leave, we will follow them; I need to speak with her, Kai said worridly, then recalled M'tri and her promise to him. And please contact Kaereth and have him tell M'tri that I may be a little late?
Ratanath quietly glided down to the Weyr lake and landed softly on the shore as not to disturb her upset rider. Selene dismounted and waded out into the cool water, allowing it to wash across her body, relaxing her.
