I was probably first into George Acosta. Then I heard breakbeats, and I'm a beatfreak from hell now.

So I was digging through this CD collection my family has had looking for my Jamiroquai CD and found all these other CDs. Then it hit me...I have been listening to EDM on my own since 1997, when I was 9. Not only that, but I technically was listening to it since I was born cause I can pretty much either name the artist or song in any Disco track or at least no all the words to it.

...whoa...

I was actually intoduced into the mainstream stuff after I met a friend through playing DDR. He was way into EDM and got me into most of the stuff I listen to now(HHc, Chillout, IDM, Glitchcore).

Depeche Mode, New Order, Pet Shop Boys, Electronic, Kraftwerk, and then started to get into the whole DJ culture thing.

2 Unlimited got me started back when I was twelve. Too bad they were such crap. sweatdrop

I listen to it every once in a while though, for nostalgic value of course, hehe.

Reviving dead threads! xd

I was introduced to electronic by Darude, what made me love it was the hackers soundtrack, so prodigy, the crystal method, orbital and the chemical brothers.

I actually came in through two different routes.

First was anime. Gundam Wing: Rhythm Emotion was the first Jpop that I ever got attached to, and from there, TWO-MIX. And since they did electronica as their background music, I got into electronica.

The second was poi. At this camp that I went to for several years, the only good part of the talent show was the glowsticking, and the raving always had Sandstorm as the background. As I learned poi and liquid, I got into the trance scene in the search for good raving music.

Nine Inch Nails. o.0
Got the downward spiral, then went to check out more on him.
Noticed everyone arguing whether NIN was industrial or not.
Then checked out industrial and bought some velvet acid christ and assemblage 23.
From there I stumbled on happy hardcore, EBM and other stuff that all sounded awesome as well. =3

Sadly enough. DDR.
But one song I downloaded stood out. I looked into it, and was hooked on Gabber.
