Sorceress_of_Blades Hmmm.... I just watched Part I of Zuko Alone on YouTube. Zuko seems to hold on to his own well....but that might be an overstatement. Seems because of him being a prince, he doesn't do quite well with menial work. So....Azula, Ty Lee, and Mei were childhood friends. It seems that Azula was nasty even then, like how she pushed Ty Lee, made fun of Mei's crush on Zuko, and burned the doll Iroh bought for her. She must've been a trouble maker, and of course, as always, must've thought highly of her dad. As for Zuko's mom, she's very pretty and very kind. Seeing that Zuko hangs out with her alot, I don't think he was like other boys with their mothers now. And we get to see how he got that knife from when he cut his hair off. The saying on the dagger must've had a very big influence on him. I do like th bit where Zuko's mom says something to the affect of "I don't know what's wrong with that child!" when watching Azula leave at one point.

No words... can explain. Weee. Definitely the best episode.
Okay, theory: Zuko's mom, Ursa, killed Fire Lord Azulan to prevent him from forcing Ozai to kill Zuko. You know, cause she says "Everything I've done, I've done to protect you." She then disappears, and Azulan is found dead. I don't think it's a coincidence. What do you all think?

Azula was holding a knife (trhe one Iroh gave zuko) when he told him their grandpa died. I think she killed him.

yamiblade Azula was holding a knife (trhe one Iroh gave zuko) when he told him their grandpa died. I think she killed him. It's either her or mom herself. I think it'd could of been mom since you know how azula was making fun of Zuko about how he was going to get killed maybe she told her mom and mom got worried about Zuko so she killed the grandfather because remember what she said to Zuko abot how she only does things to protect him and then leaves. Im just saying it could be a possibility! ANyway, that was an awesome epiy! whee Though I felt sorry for Zuko when Lee told him that he hated Zuko. It was a sad ending.

Another thing is that the fire loard said that he would choose ozi as his succseeor but he dies after that...
We learn that azula is named after her grandfather and she CAN do firebending.
Also is was stated earlier that azula, mai, and tai lee went to the fire acadmy for girls as kids.

I did that quote thing wrong, didn't I? ... about azula bending lighting... If fire becomes hot enough (take a star for example) it turns blue or white. Also, the way she uses it makes me think it is just blue fire... Plus, if any type of bender should be able to use lighting, I think it would be air. After all, lighting is generated by friction in the air... but I'm probably wrong...

It's a regular game of Clue, isn't it? I say it was Iroh in the kitchen with the firing squad! ninja Just kidding. The FACTS: ~Ursa must have found out about Ozai having to kill Zuko. ~She woke Zuko in the middle of the night/early morning to tell him good bye. ~ Azulon was dead the next morning, and Ursa is not seen in the royal line up at the funeral.
Ideas: 1.Taken at face value, one could say Ursa chose to take Zuko's place and was killed by Ozai, and Azulon just happen to die the same night. (Very ironic...)
2.Or Ursa could have murdered Azulon to protect Zuko, then ran away. (Unlikely, seeing as she held so much respect for the old man, she would not ever call him grampa, though he was her father in law)
3.Or Azula could have murdered Azulon for her father to get the throne. (She was seen playing with the knife, but seemed to only have just found it, as it was sheathed, and was not bloody.)
4. Or Ozai could have murdered Azulon to take over the throne without his father's blessing. (But what happened to Ursa?) Personally, I'm thinking closer to one or four, depending on how smart the creators think the fans are. If it was four... maybe Ozai killed Ursa, then was so upset he attacked Azulon? We don't have much information on the relationship between Ursa and Ozai, so there is no telling.

Well, I saw the rest of them. And it looks like Azula didn't make a visit.
I liked it when Zuko remembered his mom's last words and showed everyone that he was a Firebender and a member of the Royal Family. Unfortunately, it's a shame that all the thanks he got for saving the village is the immediate hatred of him.
Azula was getting more vicious more and more. She might have been a good girl then, but I guess her father had a hand in her foul attitude. Not only that, she was estactic of the idea of her grandpa dead and Iroh likely to die in the war so her dad would be Fire Lord. *shakes head* I have to admit, Azula's a very awesome character in her own ways....but...I'm starting to dislike her.
And get this: this episode showed right in time for Mother's Day, and with it showing Ursa, it may have been more appropriate.

I'm leaning towards the Ursa killing the firelord. You know she knew cause she questioned Azula after she caught her teasing Zuko. Plus, remember what she said about mothers? Threaten one of her young and she'll bite back (or something really close to that). Besides, if it wasn't her who killed him, why would she have run away?
As a really random sidenote, who thinks Zuko will end up helping out the avatar? He seems to have too good of a heart to stay bad forever. (good and evil are painfully and blatenly shown in this show with extreamly obvious symbolism, c'mon, Azula thinking of no one but herself and torturing all others, Zuko refusing to steal from a pregnant lady.... CMON!) I think he'll end up teaching Aang firebending.

I agree with everything Asashi just said. Thank you for pointing out that wonderful bit of foreshadowing. 3nodding

I think I agree with you with Zuko joining the gang. Who else can he turn to besides Iroh, whose whereabouts are unknown? Besides, it might be a great way for him to get back on Azula.

Hey, here's an interesting thought. We now know that Zuko's mother ran away, yet we never saw her get caught or die. What do you think the chances are that we'll see her again in the future?

I think perhaps she will be discussed by the characters, and maybe another flashback, but otherwise, I don't think she'll return alive. She holds no purpose now, what with the fact of Zuko being a grown man now constantly thrown at the viewer.

I was just thinking that she -might- play a small part.... like influencing Zuko to do the right thing or something. Either way though, I guess there's only one way to find out ^^
