I have ideas, but I don't think they're any good.
You could do an original recipe contest, that way when the contest is over you'll have a nice list of good recipes to try.
You could do some kind of "make me/the guild a banner/make me/the guild a picture" contest.
I had another idea too, but I forgot what it was. cheese_whine

I actually like the recipe idea, but to test them out, it would require that I actually cook something. So I think I'll pass on that one. I'm going to leave my goofy banner up for now, but I have an idea ... see new contest thread!
