To make an egg in a basket is as easy as pi:
1. Prepare a pan to make an egg. 2. Butter a piece of bread and cut a hole in the middle of the bread. (Make sure you butter BOTH sides of the bread!) 3. Put the bread on the pan when it is ready. 4. Crack the egg into the hole you cut in the bread. 5. Go on as if it was just a normal fried egg. 6. EAT AND ENJOY! mrgreen
I hope that works for you. pirate

Has anybody tried flipping them like V did? I want to try but I haven't got a kitchen here, nor eggs, nor bread.

My mom knew how to make it and she flipped it, but my friend Bobby from school couldn't figure how to make it without cutting the bread, so we ended up just cutting a hole in the bread and doing it that way.
It's actually really delicious and I liked the runny yolk, call me weird but I thought it was good ^_^ of course, I can't stand the sight, smell, or touch of spam....oddly enough. Livermush is good though, hehe. But it's not hard to do, I can make one and take a picture if anyone wants to see, though it looks the same as it does in the movie ^_^

Nothing special about it, I was just wondering if anyone had tried to flip it like that, because if I were making it I would have simply done it with a spatula out of fear that I would drop it on the floor.

I make mine a little differently. I break up the yolk of the egg, in order to cook it all the way through. Also, the bread absorbs the egg more, and it tastes really, really good that way! It takes some practice making it that way, because if the pan and flame are too hot, and you do not keep it moving, it can burn and the egg stick pretty easily.
(I was introduced to it as egg in a hole, but I forgot all about it until I saw the movie)
I have been making this a lot... it really fills you up! ^^;; if you make two, you can but ham or bacon and cheese between them, and have an amazing sandwich.

Argh. The first time I tried to make a fried egg I tried it like that, just because I had seen my father do it, and no one was around to advise me against the experiment. Somehow, with all of my brains, I could not think of a spatula. That was not a good experiment.

I've had it befor I saw V for vendtta but I've never eat so much of it till after the movie! rofl the 8th time I saw it I took a friend with me and she said she never had eggs in a basket, do I came over to ger house the next day and made them for her rofl heres my resipy for it 2 pice's of bred 2 eggs margerin or butter.
place fome butter or margaren in the frying pan, NOT spray
then butter both sides of the bred and cut a square in the center of them
(depending on the size of your frying pan) place one( ot two) of the holed bred in the pan and let it sit for a momint to cook abit.
then crack a egg into the hole and let it cook for abit (we let the bred cook first so the egg wont run all over the place)
flip it over and cook the other side.
after the main toast and eggs are done fry the center of the bred you cut out and then sirve the "hash's" (senter pice of the bred) over the eggs and there you go! eggy in a basket
