It all started way back in the day. xd I was looking to try new things with the guitar. I asked my band director to help, so she gave me some jazz guitar music and some tracks. I think it was a song called "Horsepower" that got me hooked. I've loved Jazz ever since.

You may have heard this before...but blues is a gateway drug into jazz. I was raised on blues, and that helped me along. I also was and am into some of the huge pop singers of 40s, 50s, and 60s, and that kind of lead me into jazz. Also, I started playing guitar for a jazz band about 3 years ago. When that whole thing started, I started listening to jazz instensely, and yeah, that's basically where I am now.

God, jazz? Must have been when I was five. I went ot some school conert or they came to me and I heard the jazz. That was the day I swore I'd play the trumpet. Then my dad started buying my Louis Armstrong CDs. I was hooked. My first band was my elementary school jazz band. We played Born to be Wild and Birdland. From then on it was jazz all the way. I love it.

I did have some jazz music in my house all my life, I started on violin, I like old music, so I would get books on jazz, Beatles, Broadway, Old Movies (you name it), then when my sis got into jazz band in middle school, it looked like alot of fun, so the next year I was thinking of guitar, but I wasn't proficient with the chords (Ab7#13b5 eek )then I decided bass (my sis played alto and I only wanted to play strings)
but I love bass and Charles Mingus and John Clayton are superb bassist

i got into it more the last year. i always listen to it lightly and liked it but it was never a real favorite of mine. but then my dads old college frined came to dinner one night wen i was in i think 7th grade and noticed i had a hendrix shirt on. so we started talking about music , and he gave me a cd of his by miles davis called, "a Tribute to Jack Johnson" its an amazing cd i still listen too now. idk something about it jus got me hooked on it and i looked up other artists and started learning music theory and jazz for my guitar and violin.

In 7th Grade, my friend wanted me to join Jazz Choir because they needed guys and she liked my voice. Ever since I joined that, I've been hooked. I'm now in Jazz Choir in my High School singing Tenor (even though I'm a Baritone).
