theARRIVAL
Trela & RA

RA
[ RA pov ]

RA kicked its feet, swinging them so they went between (and sometimes through) the black metal gate. It hummed a non-tune to itself, while watching for the vitals and feed of the first Nahzeetial to enroll in the Academy. It checked on the other five or so kids, bleak dots with their own colours around the school.

RA waited, and flapped its wing, not moving the air in the slightest.

Trela Keres
[Trela's POV]

The trio made their way to the gate; Cirisse, Circe and the first Nahzeetial of the Keres tribe to be enrolled into the Academy, Trela. (Actually, the first Nahzeetial ever to be enrolled into the Academy.)

Trela slivered ahead of her guardian and older sister; clearly excited, but trying not to show it. The black gate came into view, and Trela spun around, 'I can take it from here.' A sly smirk painted across her face. Cirisse and Circe couldn't help but grin also.

Cirisse nodded, 'Alright, hun. Take care, and don't do anything we wouldn't do.' She winked and gave Trela a hug, before letting her sister have a say.

Circe grinned, 'Ditto to what she said.' A laugh escaped the seventeen year old Nahzeetial. Leaning in, she whispered, 'That gives you pretty much free range.' Another wink and a laugh, a hug and they were gone.

A smirk. Trela turned around to see the ... Alien Dragon waiting for her. She slithered up to it proudly, 'The name's Keres .. Trela Keres.' Clearly, she was proud of her family name.

RA
"Hello, snake child, and welcome to the Academy," RA said as it leaped off the gate. The hologram flickered only slightly as it turned around and looked up at the Nahzeetial.

RA circled around her, sending out a ping from its feed, and upon confirmation it nodded. "If you know how, send your feed id, now reprogrammed to zero zero seven." It pointed to the box by the gate. "If not, you can tap it in over there." The little monster circled around the girl again, counter to the direction it just did, waiting.

Trela Keres
Trela cocked an eyebrow as the alien dragon flickered. Hologram? No matter. She followed his finger to the box. Even though the Nahzeetial were the original developers of the feed, she had not learnt how to use hers as much as she would have liked to.

Slithing over to the box, she entered zero-zero-seven, then looked up at the hologram, 'So what ... I haven't learnt about my feed as much as I'd like to. She paused, 'I take it, you're part of the brains behind the Academy?'

RA
"In all technicalities, I am the brains. I'm RA, 'residential assistance.' I'm everywhere, do everything that's not by a mortal, and a good deal more." It grinned, as the gates hissed open.

"I just choose to have a physical image as well. Makes things like this easier." It gestured in, and to the towering main doors. They opened as well, and RA smirked up at the snake girl again, and shrugged, its vacant eye winking at her.

"You're eight. Big deal. You'll learn how to use it soon enough, and you'll learn it fast." And with that, it started a mockery of a march towards the door.

Trela Keres
Trela gave a sly smirk, and obediantly followed the hologram, 'The brains behind this place. Sweet.' A silent moment, before she asked, 'So ... can you like, control people through their feeds, considering out feeds control us? ... Like puppetry?' A devious grin was painted on the snake-girls face now. The thought of having such powers ... it would be amazing.

RA
RA laughed daintily. "I could, if I wanted. I only have a very loose set of the three laws instilled into me. I generally won't do that. You children are amusing enough as it is!" it finished, and walked into the doors, making no sound. The voice that was formerly from the gates now came from all around.

"Power is wonderful, kleinigkeit giftschlange. It is also to be taken with a grain of salt, lest it consume." It grinned at her. It pointed at the door to the left. "Your dorms are there, Trela. You share with another girl about your age, but she has yet to arrive."

[ kleinigkeit giftschlange is little snake in german ]

Trela Keres
Such power ... would be wonderful.

Trela looked towards the door on the left. Roomate. Wonder what she will be like. If she's an Aanida ... oh, there will be blood ...

Then the words struck her ...

Kleinigkeit giftschlange

Why did that sound familiar?

'What's it mean?' She figured since it was the brains behind everything, it would be able to tell what she meant.

RA
"Your roommate is an altered human, though there is an aanida present. She prefers the library and such." RA led her to the door, and told her to try and project her thoughts, to that number, the three, above her door. "And the words are from a long dead language child. You mightn't know it. German. Most things are standardised to our basic. They mean 'little snake,'" it snickered, and gave her a mock stern look. "Do not take me for being small though I choose to be sized as a pygmy*.

[ * *evil grin.* had to ref your science project >:]! XD ]

Trela Keres
Altered human, eh? Hmm.

'My elder is incredibly old ... he speaks many dead languages.' She looked to the ground, for the elder had passed only a short time ago; yet she could not speak of him in past tense.

'Size does not matter.' A playful smirk danced on her face, 'Big things can come in small packages ... even in the size of a pygmy. But you have already told me that.'

Trela glanced up at the door, the number, focusing in on it. She tried to blank her mind, as she had been taught to do briefly in her tribe.

'Zero Zero Seven'

RA
RA smiled fangily. "Old is relative, Ms. Keres. You do not know what is old till you have met the endless, the above ones, the deities whom you mortals bond with."
It smiled again, only much more secretively.

"I've no doubt you'll master your feed quickly, if given the chance."

It walked into her room, and looked around the plain dorms. "I've had your luggage transported here, the bags are in your closet. If your dorms are unsatisfactory, you may contact me to transmute what you do not like."

It sent a vague map to the Nahzeetial. "The cafeteria is on the second floor, and the library is out the main doors to your left."

"Are there any questions you have for me, before I let my holo disintegrate?"

Trela Keres
Trela curiously stated to the RA, 'You speak as if you know endless ...' ... 'Wait a minute, bonding? ... Am I ... bonding with a deity ... or is it to early to know such power?' Such power ...

Nodding, before entering her room, she looked around. It was amazing ... she never expected her dorm to be that big.

A question ..., 'Classes? I was informed of them ... but I've got a question regarding which would be better for a Nahzeetial like myself.' She paused, trying to recall the names of the courses, 'Feed 101 ... or Militarian Knowledge?'

RA
"I know, because I am." it replies cryptically, and ingores her second and third questionsm and skips to her next ones. "I instruct feed 101, whereas lineslieth does so for Miliknow. Mili know is mostly information on the governmental systems in state around Nilyx 0308, as well as featuring famous figureheads, like Xenocide the Partisan, the most famous Nahzeetial known to any, and my original form, alien code RA, who was the most famous murderer in the galaxy.

"Feed 101 will teach you how to manipulate your feed, how to send and receive codes, how to draw up maps and menus and books and words from your inner store, and how to send out chatter and send in assignments, and how to control your power, if you are blessed by one."

It shrugged. "Feed 101 is easier. Miliknow is fascinating."

Trela Keres
So, it chose to ignore her questions, nay? Whatever, she'll find out her purpose here in time to come.

Power is an appealing sound to the Nahzeetial ... Militarian Knowledge ... verses knowing how to control your feed. Hrm.

'Hard choice.' She mumbled; though she knew she would pick Militarian Knowledge deep down.

Turning around to enter her room further, she paused and looked down at RA, 'Thank you.'

Trela respected the RA; it was smart, powerful ... definately one to look up to ... erm ... or down, either way, 'So if I ever need anything ... do I just speak through my feed?'

RA
RA nods. It had a feeling that Trela would do as any good Nahzeetial would, and pick the one of violence first. "I'm everywhere, and always aware of everything, so if you ever need me, I am there."

Trela Keres
Trela nodded, 'I'll be sure to keep that in mind.' Now, her next worry was this roommate of hers. As long as she wasn't an Aanida, it would be fine.

Settling In
RA left ...

She was alone.

Looking around the room, Trela took in every little detail of her new home from the next ... while. Decade? Who knew.

Slithering around the corner to her closet, she looked inside; noting her luggage had already been placed in there, she plopped onto the bed. The room was amazing in every way .. the school was amazing in every way ...

'Wow ...' Trela thought, 'even the ceiling is amazing.'

Sitting up, Trela decided to unpack .. lighten the place up a bit. After all, her roommate wasn't even here yet, so she had nothing better to do besides the said decision.

So, first things first .. she needed to get off her lazy arse and start unpacking.

'But the bed is so comfy.'

Whatever. Her trip might have been long, but she needed to unpack sooner or later and better sooner then later, of course.

Letting her tail hit the floor with a dull thump, Trela pushed herself off the comfort of her bed and made her way to the closet. There were only three bags of her luggage in the closet, but mind you they were fairly large. Deciding it be easiest to start with her clothing, she grabbed the largest bag in the closet. Yes, even though Trela only wore shirts, due to the fact she didn't have legs thus not needing pants (thought she does have a few skirts), the bag was large. Unzipping the bag, the contents immediately exploded from within the contained suitcase. Trela was not one for packing properly, nor lightly.

Inside there were about three weeks worth of each type of clothing. Tank-tops, wifebeaters, strap-less, tub-tops, short-sleeve t-shirts, t-shirts, longsleeves, sweaters, hoodies and of course training bras; she's only eight after all.

Slowly but surely, Trela moved all of her clothing from the bag, floor and bed to the dresser which came with the room, thankfully.

Now that the hard part was done, the rest would be a breeze. The second bag contained accessories, daily necessities, several books and school supplies. Lazily, Trela took out the accessories and daily necessities and opened the night-stand drawer, throwing them inside .. nothing was breakable after all, so it was all good. She'd organize it later anyways. As for the books and school supplies, she placed those on the shelf.

Finally, the last bag. This bag was smaller mind you. The smallest of them all.

Carefully, Trela took the bag and placed it gently on her bed. Unzipping the duffle bag, she slowly removed a small stone sculpture and placed it the shelf above her bed.

Throwing the bags back into the closet and shutting the door, she stepped back and took in her new room. Unpacking sure had lightened it up and kept her occupied ... which was good.

Silver eyes were then turned to the sculpture above her bed. It was of a king cobra with emerald eyes.

Trela had recieved this as a birth gift from the elder. She never questioned it ... but the elder had told her mother that she must keep the sculpture with her forever.

Curiousity came and left Trela in the blink of an eye.

She was bored.

Time to explore!

anAWKWARDmeeting
Trela & Akira Maine

Trela Keres
So, she was bored.

Trela had been up in her dormitory for some time .. her roommate had still not arrived; thus she decided to explore.

She found herself in the mess hall. No, she was not hungry .. she figured maybe someone would be there. Not much of a social butterfly, but boredom had taken a hold of her.

Akira Maine
It wasn't really hunger, it was more, snacking. Yes, snacking. Snacking and hoping someone new would eventually come in. And, Akira's wishes had come true. Indeed, someone walked... wait. Slithered in.

Akira had been snacking on more fries, drowned in ketchup. His ears and tail twitched as he watched the snake-girl slither further into the room.

Trela Keres
Glancing around the mess hall, she felt another person around. Catching the wolf boy's gaze, she paused.

Well, at least he isn't an Aanida. Might as well make some friends, while I'm here.

Slithering over, she looked at him, 'Mind if I sit?'

Akira Maine
Akira nodded, and moved his tail away from the seat next to him. "Feel free," he replied, with a seemingly genuine half-smile.

"My name's Akira, are you new here, too?"

Trela Keres
Trela sat down, and looked at the boy. Silver eyes taking in the new being. She had only known other Nahzeetial.

Listening to him speak, she nodded, 'Yeah; got here this morning.' A pause, she looked down at the table for a moment. Locking gaze again, she smirked, 'What about you?'

Akira Maine
Akira's tail wobbled, he shoved a frie in his mouth, "I got here a couple of days ago," He replied.

He wanted to ask what she was, he had never seen a snake-person before. He'd seen plenty of people like him, altered humans, and on the rare occassion, he'd see an Aanida. But snake-people? Never.

"Um... What... well, what I mean is, what are you?" The wolf-boy's cheeks took on an anticipated pink glow.

Trela Keres
Trela gave an offended look, 'What am I?!' A smirk danced on her face, 'A Nahzeetial of the Keres tribe.' She gave a wink, 'And you'd best remember that boy!' A playful grin.

'Same question.' She glanced at him quizzically.

Akira Maine
Ears stuck to his head, his eyes widened slightly. The snake-girl seemed, offended to say the least. He blushed all the more, "I'm sorry, I've never seen a Nahzeetial." He replied, shoving a couple more fries in his mouth.

"I'm an altered human. I have wolf genes."

He squirmed out of his seat, "I'm sorry, I have to go... I have to study for class," He bowed very lightly, and walked away, hurriedly.

Trela Keres
Okay. Awkward much?

Trela looked up at him, 'O..kay?'

She watched him hurry away.

What the hell?

meetingTHEroomie
Trela & Astrid Cronhielm

Risth
[PRP - Trela & Astrid meeting]

Astrid lay in her bed, an old pair of headphones she'd taken with her from home slung loosely around her neck. Hard metal music was pouring out of them, which she moved her head to while mouthing the lyrics. In her lap was her journal; she was writing in it, completely absorbed in what she was doing. "There's a pain within ... that I can't define ... there's an empty space ... where your love used to shine --"

Will you revive from the chaos in my mind --

Trela Keres
Awkward meeting .. very awkward.

Trela slithered into her room after having an extremely awkward meeting with a wolf-boy. She noticed the faint sound of music and looked up. Her roommate was finally here! Sweet. Half red-tailed hawk? She thought that's what RA said.

Trela knew she wouldn't be able to hear her, so she slithered to her bed and plopped down, giving a little wave.

Risth
Astrid looked up abruptly from her journal, and her mouth nearly fell open. What had very suddenly sat down on the end of her bed and was waving at her was, unmistakably, a person crossed with a snake. Right there. On the edge of her bed.

No...way...

Astrid sat up quickly, the headphones coming off from her around her neck as she pulled them over her head. Hod, her garter snake, who appeared to have been laying comfortably against the warmth Astrid generated, stuck his head irritably out of her shirt and slithered a bit up and around her neck.

Astrid just stared. She remember the headphones in her hand, still pumping out music, and flipped a switch on one the side to bring it to a very low volume. But she couldn't look away from the snake...person.

"Whoa," she breathed, clearly impressed. She had only heard about these in passing before, and her parents didn't like to talk about them... "You're...you're a snake person." She couldn't remember the official name.

Astrid stuck out her hand, her eyes still wide with a mixture of disbelief and awe. "Awesome," was all she could add, sounding like she wasn't completely there at the moment. A grin spread slowly across her face.

Trela Keres
Trela laughed and smirked, 'Actually, I'm a Nahzeetial, but snake-person .. it's something I hear all the time.' Another laugh, and her gaze fell onto Hod, 'Oh wow. He's gorgeous! What's his name?'

It was then, she realized she totally just changed the subject, 'Opps! Sorry, haha. My name is Trela Keres. RA told me you were an altered-human?'

Astrid Cronhielm
Nahzeetial! That was what they were called. Astrid remembered it now, from books in her parents' bookstore and hushed conversations over the table late at night. Nahzeetial. Snake people...

Blinking, then breaking into a smile again, Astrid slipped Hod out from her shirt and held him in front of Trela. "Sorry about the name-thing," she said respectfully. "I forgot the official word for it. And this is Hod, I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you changed the subject to him at all." Hod flicked out his black tongue, straightening up into the air to look Trela over. Astrid's thoughts flickered, and she hoped he wouldn't get defensive with her...

...but he didn't. He slowly stopped his swaying and became merely interested, probably sensing this other being had something akin to him, and wasn't currently a threat. Astrid held him out farther to Trela so she might take a look at him.

"My name's Astrid Cronhielm; I just got here." At hearing Trela's question, a faint smirk worked at the corner of her mouth. "Yeah, I'm an altered human." She glanced down at the feathers lining the back of her arms. She couldn't quite see her tail from there, but she was sure Trela could. As an explanation, Astrid added, "With a hawk."

Feeling quite cheerful at the meeting, Astrid made the assumption that Trela was probably going to be with her roommate. The coolness of this thought could not be expressed. I love snakes, she thought happily. What a stroke of luck she might room with a Nahzeetial. She might even learn more about them now.

Forget what her parents thought. Snakes ranked high in Astrid's book.

Trela Keres
Trela's tongue flickered as Hod swayed. Hurting the snake was her last intention. Infact, she loved them .. being one herself, as well. Her gaze remained locked with Hod; when he stopped swaying, her tongue flickered in relief. When Astrid held him out, she smirked, gazing over his sleek body.

Listening intently to Astrid; nodding and glancing up every so often. She smirked, 'Well, I've always had a fasination with hawks. They are a snakes enemy - most of the time - but the elder was friends with a hawk .. He was the most beautiful bird I've ever laid eyes on.'

Trela laughed, and looked up, 'I take it you like snakes? Considering you own one.'

Astrid Cronhielm
Astrid couldn't help the smirk that flitted across her face at the mention of hawks usually being at odds with snakes. She knew it was true, but somehow she'd always been so drawn to them, probably because of how they looked and moved -- besides the fact that a few of the people in town had the unfortunate knack for likening her to one. They just couldn't take a joke.

The mention of an 'elder' into the conversation sparked an interest in Astrid, mirrored by her eyes. "I like hawks a lot too. My father is a fan of birds, I guess. My sister is altered with a bird, like I am. Not the same kind though. I think my mother might try and get one, even though she's grown-up." I wonder what it's like to live in Trela's house. Astrid's gaze moved to Hod, and she drew him back to her and let him slip up under her shirt sleeve and poke around.

"I've liked hawks since I was little, but I like to think that I may be the only one that would rather make friends with Hod than eat him." A look of disgust crossed her face. Old Man Marter really had been about to cleave off Hod's head with a big kitchen knife. The thought angered her. If Hod hadn't been so small, she would have hoped he'd bite the guy. Except Hod has no poison to share with him...

Smiling, Astrid stroked Hod under the chin and regarded Trela again. "So I take it you're my roommate? At home, people don't really talk about Nahzeetial. I think they're afraid of them, or just don't like them. It's really boring, because I can never find anything out." She crossed her legs comfortably. "What's it like where you're from?"

Trela Keres
'Altered with birds, eh?' Trela wondered what it would be like to be "altered" with another being .. though technically .. she was a snake-girl. So, that maybe made her an altered human? Mrrf.

Sounded like Astrid had it somewhat hard at her home ... well, maybe it only sounded that way to Trela because apparently her parents didn't like Nahzeetial ... she wondered what would happen if they found out Astrid was roomed with one.

At the mention of her home, she was both happy and saddened, but the emotion never sprung onto her face, 'Well .. I lived in the mountains; The Keres Tribe is a mountain colony. I spent most of my time with my sister and guardian, because Nahzeetial parents often make the kids fend for themselves. No matter; our entire tribe was a family. We were like any normal Nahzeetial colony .. except we were spiritual; or at least, the elders were. It saddens me ... my elder, he passed away just a few days before I left for the academy. The last memory I have of my tribe is during the burning.' And a weird dream., she thought, 'But, no matter! Tell me about your home!'

Astrid Cronhielm
Astrid was somewhat taken aback at Trela's words. "...my elder, he passed away just a few days before I left for the academy. The last memory I have of my tribe is during the burning."

"...The burning?" she echoed, thinking that it sounded ominous in her mind. A thought sprung up -- that maybe some slightly fanatic person had gone to the Nahzeetial and tried to wipe them out. The idea smoldered in the back of her head. She barely knew Trela, but she didn't care -- have an allegiance to Hod for so long, the thought made her more than angry.

"Did someone try to burn your town?" Her voice was level, and she was clearly trying to keep it that way. An image of Old Man Marter, his face grizzly and unkept with the dark stubble of beard, flashed into her mind. He heaved his huge butcher knife over his head. She darted between his legs, grabbing Hod from the puddle under the drain pipe. Whirling up, she brought her boot heel crashing down on the man's foot. Hearing him howl in pain accompanied by a sickening crack, she recalled realizing she had put on her father's boots, lined with steel in the heel. Slipping in the shallow water, her pants slick with mud, she ran, cradling the animal to her chest, who was hissing and spitting, yet didn't bite her. Hod. She'd name him Hod.

Snapping back to reality, Astrid shook her hair into her face. "Sorry," she muttered without a second thought. "I got distracted."

She was going to tell Trela about her own house, but wanted to affirm that the "burning" hadn't been someone like Old Man Marter out from a night of drinking with a torch in his fist.

Trela Keres
Trela shook her head, 'No no!' A smirk danced upon her face. If someone had tried to burn her village down, they would have been killed; Nahzeetial can be very aggressive.

'The burning is like a ritual. The Nahzeetial burn the dead; the elders are respected for their knowledge, not their bodies.' Trela paused, remembering the elder's hawk. Absent-mindedly she mumbled (loud enough to comprehend), 'The burnings aren't as sad as one would think .. and .. within my tribe, all the elders have a familiar .. my elder's was a hawk; as I stated before. Once the elder passes, the hawk will leave until the burning. Once the burning commenses, the familiar will return and throw themselves in the fire ..'

Looking up, she realized how harsh that must sound, 'But the familiar does it on their own will. An elder is connected with the familiar on a spiritual level. Once the elder passes, the familiar loses a part of itself .. so they sacrafic themselves and the elder and familiar are connected once again .. instead in the spirit realm.'

Clearly from what Trela has stated, it seems her tribe is very spiritual. In fact they were .., 'I think my tribe might be one of the only spiritual Nahzeetial tribes to tell you the truth.' A grin; she was proud of her background.

Astrid Cronhielm
Astrid was silent, taking in Trela's explanation of the burning. It all seemed very...what was the word? It had a kind of fairy-tale like quality to it; as if it were an old story from ages past that had been retold again, only to become stronger. Yet it still had that 'ancient' feel to it. How many other Nahzeetial had told this explanation before Trela had? But they probably wouldn't have told it to a human...

She shifted a bit on the bed, thinking about it. "I understand what you mean," she said, as far as the description of the familiar returning to the person they had been bonded to. It did sound harsh, but in some way she understood this. "Sometimes I think of Hod as a familar." Astrid chanced a look at him. It was almost comical, because he had been looking at Trela, but with Astrid's quick glance, he turned his head and look at her instead. 'Yes?' he seemed to be saying, although Astrid knew that was more her mind pretending for him. She smiled.

"I know he isn't really, but we're still friends, anyway." She propped her head up on her hand, studying Trela. She wondered what it was like to have a snake's body like that; to get to slither everywhere, like Hod. Astrid thought she might miss her legs, but, that's because that's all I know. To Trela, she would probably miss her snake self.

"It's weird, but really cool, to hear about another place like yours. I imagined places like that a lot, but at home, everyone in the village lives in a house, and we're all humans. Although some people are altered of course, but, nobody thinks that is strange." Astrid sighed, thinking of the times she'd nicked books from her parents' shelves so she could read about far-away creatures like Trela. "I wish your kind would live in my village. It's so boring otherwise."

Trela Keres
Trela grinned, 'Hod appears as a familiar to you .. as for myself; I've got no one. Usually the elders in my tribe will find their familiar while on a quest. I was hoping one day maybe that would be me.' Truth was, Trela's parents and sister were hunters .. her guardian was training to be an elder.

"I wish your kind would live in my village. It's so boring otherwise."

Trela shifted awkwardly, 'Erm .. one of the Nahzeetial's food sources are normal humans.' Her gaze fell onto the ground, then back to Astrid's, 'But, I've never eaten one. It's most the adults in my tribe that eat humans .. and even then they've only eaten them about twice a year. Even then, humans rarely stumble around our tribe .. if they do, they're almost dead .. considering our tribe lives so far away from any human village.' She smirked; but then realized the harsh sounding statements she had made, 'Nahzeetial are very misunderstood .. I'm sorry; it's in our nature ... some people are frightened by this ..' She coughed, 'That was the reason I wasn't looking forward to coming here too much .. I knew it'd be hard to make friends .. especially if there is an Aanida in the academy.'

Nahzeetial hated Aanida ... it was in their blood.

Trela hoped she wouldn't make the connection between herself and Astrid tense, or awkward. Trela respected Astrid ...

Astrid Cronhielm
Astrid stared, then gave a bit of a low whistle. She had no idea how everyone back home had so convienently forgotten to add that information, but the fact that they were probably afraid had something to do with. This was a new developement...

"Hmm," Astrid said, rubbing her hand on the bottom of her chin. It was clear now why people at home had avoided talking about anything but humans. They must be afraid of the Nahzeetial, any whatever other species were out there, too. But they didn't always talk as if they were afraid...more like they hated them.

That made sense too, didn't it. Generally when people were afraid, they hated what made them afraid. Like Hod. That's right, just like Hod...except Hod doesn't really hurt THEM, just their chickens and all...

"I didn't know," Astrid said. She met Trela's eyes. "A lot of the people at home wouldn't even talk about other species. But I guess I know why now. They were probably afraid."

Somehow, sitting not far from Trela, she couldn't share the sentiment. She just didn't feel that at any moment, Trela would lunge at her and try to rip off her head from her shoulders.

A memory came to her. She'd found Hod out back, mysteriously gone from her room that morning. And she caught him red-handed, or, red-mouthed as it were; he had found the bird nest in the oak tree in the backyard. Astrid had been watching them for some time; her father being a bird lover, of course she could identify them. Cooper's hawk, as far as she could tell. Right nasty tempers they had; but she loved watching the female and male Coop prepare to raise the young there.

Hod had eaten one of the young. Whether he found it dead or had actually gone for it, she had no idea. Her father was livid about it, but she couldn't bring herself to hold feelings against Hod. It was only his nature, and this was how he survived. It was a shame, but there was nothing that could be done, even if she HADN'T felt badly for the parents. She knew she should be happy Hod was even alive -- if the female Coop had caught him in the act like Astrid had, no doubt she would have killed him on the spot...

Astrid shook her head. She sighed. "Well, I don't feel threatened by you. I don't know if Nahzeetial can even choose one human over another not to eat. But," she winked, smirking. "I know a few people at home I wouldn't mind seeing eaten."

Old Man Marter, she mutter disgustedly in her mind. Ohhh what she would give to see Trela rear up in his face and smirk at him. The man would probably wet his pants from being so afraid.

Astrid cleared her throat a bit and held out a hand grasping Trela's from nearby. She shook her hand slowly, and grinned. "From a hawk to a snake, and a human to a Nahzeetial, maybe we can manage a bit of a pact not to eat each other, eh?" Because we both know if the other tried it, we'd have something up our sleeves to thwart her plan.

Even besides that, Astrid liked Trela a whole lot. As allies, they would be stronger together...

Trela Keres
Trela smiled; for some reason, she was really happy and grateful that Astrid didn't think of her differently. She felt she needed to clear something up, 'Oh, no need to worry about my Nahzeetial nature taking over or anything. Nahzeetial only eat normal humans. Altered humans and other species are our allies; most of the time. Except Aanida. They are the arch-enemies of the Nahzeetial.'

She grinned and laughed at the idea of a pact, 'Of course, but I think the pact will end up turning into a team, don't you think?' Trela winked and smirked; she felt that herself and Astrid could become an duo to reckon with.

Trela glanced at Hod, her tongue flickered, 'And he can be the sidekick.' She laughed.

Astrid Cronhielm
Astrid broke into a grin, poking Hod with a finger, which made him back up a little and inspect her finger to figure out if she was trying to annoy him or somehow offer him food.

"That's funny, because where I lived, people didn't really look at altered-humans differently -- except for the old geezers who didn't condone that kind of thing." Yet for the Nahzeetial, 'regular' humans and 'altered' humans were two different things...even enough to choose one to occasionally eat, and the other to ally with. Maybe it's becaues altered humans have a closer relationship to an animal, like the Nahzeetial do to snakes. That made sense.

Astrid's grin spread wider and glanced again into Hod's dark eyes. "A team sounds good to me. What you think, Hod? You want to be a sidekick?"

Flick. Flick. Went Hod's tongue.

"Usually we fear that means yes," Astrid supplied, thickening her accent to sound like the old Mrs. Hannah who ran the tiny bakery in town. "What'll it be today, Astrid? Got a couple nice loaves in this morning, we did. You might fancy a look at 'em, eh? Buying for your mum again?"

Astrid placed Hod's loose coils on her head, grinning still. Hod wasn't much for constricting, so he fairly slid slowly down over Astrid's face until he was hanging from around her neck. "We'll need superhero names by the end of it. And if we run into any Old Man Marter's, you can eat 'em!"

Oh the joys of being best friends with a Nahzeetial!

Trela Keres
Listening intently to her statement about there being no difference between the altered humans and normal humans made Trela curious, 'No difference? Well, that's weird. Then again, you may think us being able to choose between our meals and our allies is weird too.' She chuckled, 'Altered humans are similar to the Nahzeetial ... being bonded with an animal and all. Normal humans are just .. normal.'

Trela burst into a fit of giggles, 'I like that .. superhero names sounds sweet, just nothing corny like "Captain Trela" or "Hawk Girl"!' Trela gave a devious smirk, 'The names will be original and sweeeeet!'

Her comment on the Old Man Marter made her chuckle, 'Sounds old .. usually humans taste better at about .. oh say, thirty or so.' She winked, of course she was joking; like she said, she's never really had human .. that she can remember of anyways, 'Ah, but I'm sure a little bit of ketchup can fix that right up!!' Bursting into a fit of giggles again, she looked at Hod, 'Do you like the sound of that? I could always save you a little piece of him as .. oh .. let's call it revenge!'

Astrid had not mentioned anything about the relationship between Hod and Old Man Marter, but it was just something you could tell .. obviously something horrible happened regarding this man and Hod .. better off for her to ask, 'This .. Old Man Marter .. what's his relation to all of this? Did he do something to you or Hod?'

Astrid Cronhielm
Astrid snorted at the outright mention of Old Man Marter. She'd expected it would come at some point, but ohhh the very thought of him, she wished she could break his other toe just for the hell of it.

"Yep. Old Man Marter is who I rescued Hod here from. He was in the old man's drain pipe, and Old Man Marter tried to hack off his head with a butcher knife." Astrid gave Hod a hurt and abused look. "Isn't that right Hod. That ugly mean old man tried to cut you up for stew. But Astrid got you back, didn't he. She dived for you and broke that geezer's toe. Haha."

Astrid sighed, putting her hand on the back of her head. "Man I hate that geezer. A lot of the old people are even against altered humans in some ways. But it doesn't come up too much. With snakes though, a lot of people just kill them and make stew out of them." She winced, knowing that probably sounded like when Trela was talking about eating humans. "I'll bet it has something to do with something about Nahzeetial." She frowned. "Which is really unfair; I mean, Hod isn't a Nahzeetial. I know you have part snake in you at any rate, but to punish Hod for them not liking a different species, that's just stupid." Not that I'd want them to punish Nahzeetial either. But it's the principle of the thing. The Coops in our backyards would probably eat the old man's chickens before Hod got around to it, but people are way more likely to chop up Hod than shoot the Coop.

Which caused a word that Trela had said to jump into her mind : Aanida. Trela had said it may be especially hard to make friends with a 'Aanida.' Astrid knew even less about that word than about Nahzeetial. She tilted her head. "What are 'Aanida,' that you said about before? Are those the types of humans that don't like Nahzeetial?" Damn Old Man Marter, that old git might even have his own classification. Astrid had known he was evil.

Trela Keres
Trela gasped at the story of Old Man Marter, 'That a*****e deserves to rot in hell! Killing a snake, why I never!' She paused, 'But then again, that's probably what you thought when I said Nahzeetial kill normal humans for supper.' She laughed nervously, 'But we don't need to worry about that!'

At the mention of Aanida, she cringed. She knew she'd have to tell her eventually, 'Aanida are similar to Nahzeetial .. except they are spider-people. I don't know why .. but we've had a rivalry against them for thousands of years. At least, I think we have.' A shrug, 'I don't know what happened to make us hate eachother though.'

Astrid Cronhielm
Astrid start laughing, trying not to, but she couldn't quite help it. "Yeah, something like that...even if it hadn't been a snake exactly, the guy just sucks. He's such an old miser anyway. He may taste kinda toughy and stringy." She smirked, then stuck her tongue out good-naturedly. Ugh, she hated that man.

But, now, this was new...spider people? Astrid's mouth fell open. "You mean...they have as many legs...as a spider does? And what about eyes? Are they like really big spiders?" Astrid wasn't sure how she'd take a gigantic spider. She thought she might be interested in it, but a bit suspicious of all those eyes...

She giggled. "That sounds like people all over these days...if you don't even know why your people hate them, maybe you can still be friends. I mean, if I don't have a good reason to hate somebody, I don't generally." Except my gut feeling counts as a good reason.

Astrid shrugged. "I suppose there might be a book about it around here...I'd like to read more about you guys, and them too. If there is an Aanida here, maybe she doesn't know why her people don't like yours either." Astrid knew Trela might not be up to this 'just go randomly make friends with an Aanida'-thing, but she herself did think it kind of stupid to make living here more complicated by continuing a rivalry that neither of them might know the true meaning of. It wasn't her call though, and Astrid would be respectful of that as best she could.

Trela Keres
Trela shivered, 'Tough and stringy .. sounds nasty. But I'd bite his face off for you and Hod anyways!' She cackled, then laughed.

Nodding, Trela looked from Hod to Astrid, 'Yeah .. they've got arms and legs, then four spider legs coming from their backs .. on top of that they've got normal eyes, then four to six extra ones. And .. they're human sized, so yes, they're big.' She grinned, 'But us Nahzeetial are bigger!' Wiggling proudly, she smirked.

The thought of a Nahzeetial and Aanida was odd to Trela, 'I don't know if we could. It's in our nature .. but then again .. a hawk and a snake .. hawks eat snakes .. and we're friends so you never know.' She grinned.

Astrid Cronhielm
Astrid gave Trela a huge, questionable grin, before breaking off into laughter. "Hod might like that. I dunno if he'd ever had human before, except for once when he thought my finger was a snack." She held up the finger proudly, displaying the small scar on the tip. "I think he decided I didn't taste very good, though."

She began trying to picture an Aanida at Trela's explanation of one. "Wow," she got out. "Four legs coming out of their back. I wonder if it's hard to sleep like that. And that many eyes! What would happen if one needed glasses?" After asking it, Astrid realized it was probably a stupid question; she supposed they never DID need glasses. But vision couldn't be perfect all the time. That was one of the reasons her father had mostly chosen birds of prey for her and her sister to be altered with -- he had to wear glasses, and didn't want them to have to, too. Sometimes glasses can look alright though. How did she get on these long mental tangents, again?

Astrid winked. "Sometimes snakes eat hawks, too...ole Hod here nailed a baby Coop after I first had him. I did feel a bit bad, but it's Hod's nature...he has to eat too." She smiled and looked at Hod...who wasn't quite there. He looked to be catching some shut eye, with his head halfway under her shirt sleeve. "Whoops," she whispered to Trela. "Looks like he's too warm to bother staying awake again."

Trela Keres
Trela grinned, 'I think I've tried human once actually .. I don't really remember much about it though. However, I remember it being a little too salty for my tastes.' She giggled. Of course, back then, she was still very young.

Giving that question some thought, she shrugged, 'Wow, beats me! That kind of sucks though .. I mean, if that happened.' Trela was perfectly happy with only having one set of eyes ... three or four sets would be too much for her.

And the thought of actually having legs was completely odd to Trela. Slithering just wouldn't be the same ...

Trela glanced down at Hod and smiled, 'He's so cute ...' But him sleeping reminded her of how tired she was as well.

Astrid Cronhielm
Astrid licked her lips loudly. "I like salty foods." She grinned again, and went into her own bout of giggling. At this school, girls didn't giggle about boys, they giggled about what humans tasted like. Astrid found it rather more enjoyable, she thought.

She did another check of Hod, who was certainly ignoring her in favor of sleep. She yawned a little herself, just looking at him, and stretched her arms high into the air. Some of the feathers on the underside of her arms moved the tiniest bit, as if stretching too. She smiled a little groggily. "I guess he's a little infectious. I think I might take a nap for a while." She tilted her head. Trela's eyes looked heavy. "You might use one, too. I suppose later we can eat or something. I may go out and do some exploring tonight." She shrugged, and yawned again.

Smiling, flopped down with her head on her pillow and her arms around it. "I probably won't sleep long but," yawn, "I had to get up really early this morning to get here. My home is a bit far away." While she seemed to still be looking at Trela, she was in fact looking past her, at a spot on the far wall. Her eyes were already fluttering closed, her headphones whispering out random snatches of music still. Her journal was on her lap, facedown, and she didn't even stir enough to move it.

Mumbling a few more things out to Trela, which she didn't even hear rightly herself, she smiled and gave the snake girl a thumbs-up. Wouldn't sleep too long...just a little nap, was all...

Trela Keres
A giggle and a yawn.

Why did a nap sound so .. appealing?

Trela nodded as she listened to Astrid, 'Nap sounds good .. after that, I'll probably be hungry anyways.' With a dull thud, Trela's tail hit the floor and she slithered over to her own bed.

Plopping down, the second her head hit the pillow she was out.

The Nightmare
The second Trela's head hit the pillow, she was out.

Sure, she may have fallen asleep easily ... but the sleep itself was an uneasy one. Trela ... had a dream.

No.

Nightmare.

This dream sequence begun like more nightmares do; happy. This is how it started ...

Darkness ... then ...

Flash.

Trela was with her sister, Circe, and her beloved Elder and his red-tailed hawk. The Elder was applying war paint to Circe's face, as she was hoping for a facial tattoo in the near future. The Elder was prepping her for the look, as it would be with her for the rest of her life. Trela sat and watched excitedly; every so often she would look above her to see the Elder's hawk flying around joyfully. Silence occurred often during this time, but it was soon broken when the Elder noticed Trela's interest in the red-tailed hawk, 'Her name is Redle .. she is my familiar.' A smirk danced on the Elder's face.

'Familiar ...' The whisper escaped the young Nahzeetial's thoughts.

Nodding, the Elder explained, 'A close friend ... an attendant spirit. Redle guides me through life.' He smiled, 'One day, my young Trela, you may find yourself a familiar as well.'

A smirk danced on the girl's lips. The thought was exciting.

Looking back up, Trela noticed something different about Redle ... she looked more ... human?

'Astrid ...'

Flash.

'I'll never leave you young Keres ... I'll always be in your heart.

Flash.

Fire reflected in the eyes of the youngest of the Keres clan. Trela looked up in horror, as her beloved Elder was burnt. He was gone ... as would be Redle.

A cry in the night. The shrill note was blood curling ... but would melt the heart of even the most of cruel men. It was Redle ... crying for the loss of her bonded partner.

It was then, a fatal swoop into the fire. Redle had sacrificed herself. The Elder and her would be together again in spirit.

Trela's gaze fell to the ground ... onto a familiar tail feather. She couldn't handle it ... death of a loved one. She mustn't cry, it would show signs of weakness and weakness was not tolerated amongst Nahzeetial. Forcing herself to look back at the Burning, she watched the gore and whispered a prayer in her mind.

In her right hand ... the feather of Redle.

Flash.

It was dark. Something was holding Trela down ... something ... picky. She couldn't move, couldn't see, but could hear and barely breath. The voice ... was cold and scratchy.

'Ready to meet your fate little Nahzeetial!' The laugh was horrific.

'No ... NO!'

Trela recognized that voice ... Deo ... her brother.

A blood curling scream, Trela tried to fight her way out of whatever was holding her down, but it was impossible. Suddenly the thing that was covering her eyes, moved down to her mouth. Now, she could see but not speak.

The sight ... would scar her for life.

There stood, a large Aanida hovering over something trying to grasp onto life. It was her brother.

Trela could hear the flesh ripping and the blood falling, as the Aanida ripped through Deo's stomach.

In her head, Trela was screaming ... in her throat, she could feel the scream echoing, but the sound did not escape her mouth. No one heard her ... no one could help them. She tried to close her eyes, but the Aanida holding her pried them open, forcing her to watch this horrific scene.

She wanted to run, but she couldn't move.
She wanted to scream, but she couldn't talk.
She wanted to die ... but she would be forced to live with this scene burnt into her mind.

Forever passed and the Aanida was satisfied.

The one holding Trela dropped her, and the two left.

Hesitantly, Trela slithered to her brother's devoured corpse. His silver eyes were open, fear painted on his lifeless face.

This image would forever remain in Trela's mind ... eyes and heart.

Revenge ... was the first thing that came to mind.

Revenge.

Trela awoke with a start. Drenched in a cold sweat ...

Trela & Akira Maine

Trela Keres
[New RP; Trela & Akira]

After waking up from her nightmare, Trela didn't want to stay still ... or in her room alone. So, why not explore? She hadn't really done that much exploring ... the one time she did, she ran into a wolf-boy called ... Akira? Something like that anyways.

Well, it was a nice day so might as well go outside.

Trela slithered through the doors of the school; the blinding sun causing her to pause and shield her eyes for a moment before continuing on her venture.

It was hot; a little too warm for the snake-girl anyways. Shade, shade is good.

Trela's silver eyes darted around for somewhere to sit and cool off. It was then she noticed a fairly large tree; joy, shade! Slithering over, Trela sat comfortably on her tail and sighed. She needed some excitement.

Akira Maine

Akira hadn't bothered with putting his shirt back on; it was too bothersome and involved far too much effort. He would have to order new shirts, with custom slits in the back... or something to that effect.

The sun beamed down on him, pale skin reflecting the light off almost as a mirror would.

His wings were folded, his tail twitching and swishing gently, and Akira seemed to simply be in thought. He hadn't realized he was out on the grounds, but he saw a farmiliar green tint of flesh.

"Trela?"

Trela Keres
When her name was spoken, Trela casually glanced at the figure. Y hulo thur!, she thought. Wait a minute ... he looked familiar. She paused a moment before nodding.

'Akira ... right?'

Wow, time sure had flown by it seemed ... at least to her. Akira looked ... somewhat older.

Akira Maine

Akira gave a smile, glad that she didn't seem to want to kill him, like he originally thought, and that he didn't feel like he needed to run away; even if the snakeyness did make him feel a little uncomfortable.

He ignored it, and shoved his hands in his pockets, nodding, "Yeah, that's me..." he replied, ears twitching, his hair still covering one of his eyes- something else he gave up trying to fix.

"Glad I stumbled upon you... I've been meaning to appologise for acting the way I did. You're the only Nahzeetial I know... it caught me off guard a little."

Trela Keres
It was then Trela met guilt. Thinking back, she felt bad for being so sacrastic and straight-forward when she first met Akira. Bad first impression ... But, she felt she needed to apologize as well, 'It's alright ... I was a little too straight-forward ...' Giving a friendly smile, she added, 'So, I apologize for the way I acted. And as for the Nahzeetial thing ... I keep forgetting I'm the only one at the Academy.'

Moving over a bit, Trela made room for Akira incase he wanted to sit down. But as she looked at him, she noticed something different. Sure, he was taller, older and cuter, but there was something else.

'Did you always have wings?'

Akira Maine

Akira couldn't help but let out a chuckle, he shook his head, and his wings; sensing they had been noticed, gave a lazy stretch and a gentle glap, which wasn't actually that gentle - They want him to start flying already.

"Naw, they were a gift from a staff member," he replied, kneeling down, and making sure his tail was out of the way before plonking on the ground.

"Pretty neat, apart from randomly flapping..." He smiled.

"How've you been? It's been a while..."

Trela Keres
Trela looked at him quizzically, but with a grin, 'A gift from a staff member? I had no idea it was even possible to grow wings.' She giggled, 'Guess anything is possible.' A smile replaced the grin.

A moments pause. Trela shrugged, 'I've been okay, I suppose. Haven't really been doing all too much.' She stared off; a clip from her nightmare returned, but she shrugged it off, 'What about you? How've you been ... seems a lot has been going on.' Of course, she was referring to his wings, and ... "growing-up".

Akira Maine

"Mmm," He thought a moment, laying forward onto his stomach so as not to disturb his wings, which, speaking of- happened to be slowly and gently flapping, as if trying to fan Trela.

One would notice the way his skin fades to black on each wing, the softness of flesh turning rough like leather, which a considerably dull shine to it. It looked almost wet...

"Haven't been up to much as of late... I met my room mate a few weeks ago. Actually, after I met you and had a mini-spazz attack... Never was much of a snake lover... more scared of them than anything, but anyway... Got into a fight with this kid I don't get along with; Luke. That's when I started questioning my own sanity..." His tail twitching, half curled in the air.

"Saw the nurse, Aerin, and he told me I'm on the path of insanity, and bonded to a god of Death; Anubis," he paused after a moment, and couldn't help but let ouf a chuckle.

"I guess I've been up to a lot then. I'd love to just spend a few days wrapped in the blankets and relaxing... But my wings seem to be wanting to fly, so they aren't going to leave me alone until I get someone to teah me..."

Trela Keres
Trela closed her eyes and smirked, 'Mmm ..' She wasn't going to lie, the gentle flapping felt nice .. especially since her dark colour attracted the sun. Upon opening her eyes, she got to take a better look at his wings. My, those were quite different.

Listening quietly, nodding every so often, 'Seems you've been up to a lot. I met my roommate not to long ago .. thankfully she loves snakes, actually has a pet garder snake.' She smiled, 'But, I can't blame you for not liking snakes ... a lot of people don't. But once you get past the tail and split tongue, Nahzeetial can be okay people, if you catch them on a good day.' Giggling silently, she looked at Akira, 'Nahzeetial find it hard to make friends with others because of the snake attributes. Which is mostly why we stick together and hold a hard-shell.' Yes, Trela was definately in a good mood at the moment.

'Insanity ... and bonded? Wow. Are all the students at this school going down paths like that?' The last question was more Trela thinking out loud. But she shook it off, and smiled at the last comment, 'RA has wings, maybe he can teach you.' Pausing, she thought of way to relax and keep wings under control, 'As for relaxing ... why don't you just wrap your wings around you like a blanket? Wouldn't that keep them under control.'

Speaking of which, Trela wouldn't mind curling up herself. She might have just woken up, but the heat made her tired ... Meh, she'd probably end up curling up in her room later on anyways.

Akira Maine
"It seems like it... If not insanity... then, I suppose genius or something..."

He thought a moment, then the writing on the gate made sense.

"Insanity encourages Genius..." He said softly. So, that's what that meant? They would either be geniuses, or go insane trying? Bonded to gods... falling for the faculty?

It seemed like a big soap opera, and for some reason, Akira just couldn't get enough of it. Maybe it was the chaotic notions, or the whispers at night, or even the shadows that no one saw. He loved it here even if it meant he would lose his mind.

"huh?" Trela's continued speaking broke him from trance, and he nodded, "I dunno... I could get Hiro to teach me, if I ever find him... I guess he went to grow, or got lost in the library or something... He's altered, like me, but he's part bee... it's cute," he gave a smile.

Trela Keres
Trela felt her heart stop. Was she going to go insane? Possibly be bonded? Well, what if she became a genius? No ... she couldn't. With the dream last night, and the thoughts running through her mind; insanity. Unless she developed a master genius plan to destory all Aanida. Nope, that was still insane.

s**t.

Well ... whatever; at least she wouldn't be alone.

'Hiro?' She tasted the name on her tongue, 'Don't think I've heard of him. Then again, I haven't really met many people at this school.'

Trela imagined a half bee, half boy buzzing around the school on a sugar-high. I mean; bees like nectar, boys like sugar. It was only obvious. Smirking at the thought, she glanced at Akira, 'Sounds like a cute kid.'

Akira Maine
"Mm. He's on a constant sugar-high... I get dizzy just watching him, but it makes me smile... his cheerfulness."

His curiosity over the matter had been down at the back of his mind; Was Trela's skin rough like a snake's? He'd managed to not touch her, mainly out of fear that she would be offended, but it was picking at him.

Picking, picking, pickpickpickpick. He had to know. Now.

"I'm really sorry if this offends you... but I just have to know..." A hand reached out, claws scrapping against the grass before his hand found Trela's tail, and he gently, and slowly ran it along the surface.

It -did- feel like snake skin... Gross, but cool, all at the same time! He pulled his hand away, tucked it back to where it was.

"Sorry, I just had to know if your skin was like a Snake's, or if it was more human feeling..."

Trela Keres
Trela stiffled a giggle as he ran his hand down her tail; being someone ticklish, it was hard not to laugh.

Smirking, she shrugged, 'Apparently a lot of people are both intimidated and curious about Nahzeetial; curious about if we're actually half snake, or just look it.' Sighing, she mumbled, 'Which is why, I'm so snappy ... weird looks, you know?' Laughing, she loosened the awkward-statement by saying, 'Then again, I've never see a wolf-boy.' A grin.

'Anyways, no. I'm not offended.' Petting her tail she added, 'It's all real. Well ... from the ribs down is snake-like ... except the hips; we've got human hips.' Trela nodded matter-of-factly.

Akira Maine
"That's actually pretty neat... I guess I was always afraid of them from the stories I'd heard..."

He gave a soft chuckle, "My family was big on altering us when we were born. I have a brother that's part Fossa, my father's part Bear, and my mother was part fox, with two tails instead of one. My cousins were rodents, one of them was a Rat, and the other a mouse, while my aunt and uncles were rabbits..."

He sighed, and rested his head on his arms. His conversation with himself, was a revelation, but at the same time, it made it harder not to think of Lines.

He was glad he was on his stomach. Very glad.

Trela Keres
Trela nodded and looked at the ground uncomfortably, 'Some of those stories are probably true ...' She sighed, 'Nahzeetial don't have very good reputations.' Shrugging, she added, 'But, we're all different.'

Trela smirked, 'That's pretty neat ... and ... I guess if you look at it a certian way, I'm an altered human too! Just with a snake ... and a lot more altered.'

Sighing, she glanced over Akira's features. It was different. Only little things about him were changed. She looked like a snake with arms. But whatever; she was proud to be a Keres.

Akira Maine
Akira chuckled, "You're nice for a Nahzeetial, maybe the rest are different or the same, but you're nice, and honest, so I know if you're in a bad mood one day, I'll just stay away." He smiled and tried to shift, so the new sensation in his lower region would stop, but that only seemed to make it worse.

Worse enough for him to blush anyway. He looked away, wondering what it was, mostly, and why his thoughts of Lines triggered it.

Trela Keres
Trela giggled, 'Thanks, and I don't think you'll have to worry too much. On bad days, my anger is usually targetted to those I don't like, or just generally piss me off.' She paused, 'But you're pretty cool, so you're on my good list.' She smiled.

It was then, she noticed he was blushing as he shifted, 'Everything alright, Akira?'

Akira Maine
"Uhh... I dunno..." He managed, he shifted again, but the pinkness deepened, and he looked away again.

"I'm not sure what's going on... This is new to me. But it feels... Uhm..." He pressed his face into his hands, his wings giving a jerk. He'd never been told the birds and the bees, or about sexuality, or what happens when you reach puberty, but it appeared he was learning the first lesson.

It was completely random.

Trela Keres
Taken back by his wings jerking, she ignored it. Still not sure was was going on, she extended her hand to rub his back. That usually made people feel better. She didn't know why though. Instead, she decided against it, incase he had a spazz attack or something.

Placing her hand on his shoulder, she looked at him, 'What? Akira? What's wrong? Stomach ache?'

Pooor Trela. She had no idea; because he was still on his stomach.

Akira Maine
It took a few moments, but the sensation went away. Although, there was a new strange feeling inplace of it. It sort of went away after a while of awkward silence.

Stomach ache? Oh, that'd be a good cover... because he had absolutely no idea what the hell just happened.

"Yeah, I think I ate something bad... Or maybe the tea, with Cerceris..."

Come to think of it, maybe it was the tea? It relaxed him so much, maybe that caused this too? He could ask Cerceris, or Aerin...

Trela Keres
Trela sat quietly just looking at Akira for any sort of sign.

After a very awkward silence, he broke it. Thank god.

Trela rubbed his back for a second, then pulled away and smiled, nodding, 'Feel a bit better now, though?'

For a moment, Trela wondered who Cerceris was; probably just another altered-human at the school ... maybe a staff member.

Akira Maine
"Yeah, a little better..." He mumbled, shifting to make sure the retaliation wouldn't come back, and he sighed when it didn't. Whatever it was, was gone now.

His tail gave a lazy twitch, and he gave a soft yawn, feeling like something to nibble on, or a rest. But he was still with Trela, so he rested the side of his head on his arms, and watched her.

"I'm fine... just a queezy stomach moment."

Trela Keres
Trela smiled softly. It was good he was feeling better, to say the least. But he looked tired. Trela, herself, was feeling a bit lazy. Resting her head on the tree trunk, she sighed. Man, the bark was not a very good pillow at all.

'Yeah ... stomach pain sucks. It's good that you're feeling a bit better though.' She looked at him and smiled softly; tail curling up underneath her, she yawned.

Akira Maine
After noticing that Trela seemed a bit tired, too, he figured, maybe they could go take another nap.

"Seems like a lazy day, we could go take another nap or something?" He thought back, and gave a chuckle.

"Just don't fall asleep like Cerceris did... Carrying an Aanida, and a Nahzeetial in the span of a few days, seems a bit odd."

Trela Keres
Trela smirked, 'A nap sounds nice.' Lazily, she giggled, 'And don't worry. I won't fall asleep on you.'

At the mention of Cerceris and Aanida, she kept that in the back of her mind. So, this Cerceris character was the Aanida of the school? Wonder if she was related to those ... nevermind.

Akira Maine
He chuckled, his tail wagging, "Woot!"

He shifted to his side and leaned on his knees, stretching out luxuriously, his wings stretching out as well. Then he stood and put his hands in his pockets, his tail swishing softly from side to side.

"I'm gonna go sleep off the stomach weirdness, so, I guess I'll see you around, huh? Ping me if you ever need me for anything," he said, with a smile.

Actually, he'd probably go have a shower before he napped, since he neglected to take one when he woke up.

Trela smirked, unraviling her tail from underneath her, she "stood up"; stretching her arms and yawning. Hopefully she'll have a better rest then she did earlier; with that nightmare and all.

Smiling, she laughed, 'Same goes to you.'

Turning to leave, Trela casted a glance over her shoulder, 'See you around, then.'

Trela slithered into her room; Astrid wasn't there. Sighing, the snake-girl made her way to her bed, slowly slinking onto it.

She wasn't as tired as she was before, so she just lay awake ... recalling the meeting with Akira. He had changed. He was older now, taller, had wings and ... he was pretty cute. Meh, something else was up with him. That stomach ache ... it was very random; but then again, most are. Trela hoped he'd be okay after a nap or something.

It was then, a clip of their conversation seemed to replay itself in her mind ...

"Saw the nurse, Aerin, and he told me I'm on the path of insanity, and bonded to a god of Death; Anubis," he paused after a moment, and couldn't help but let ouf a chuckle.

Was Trela on the same path? Maybe not being bonded to a god, or goddess ... but ... was she going insane?

After that dream, no ... nightmare, she had had ... there was something off. After the nightmare, she craved Aanida blood. The snake-girl wanted to seek revenge against those who had slaughtered her brother ever-so ruthlessly ... and forcing her to watch this horrific sight.

Her brother's scream echoed through her mind as she stared off into nothing ... blankly.

Trela needed sleep, or the image would continue haunting her for the rest of the day. It would drive her insane if she wasn't careful; even though that was most likely the path she was already on. Although ... genius also came into the conversation from earlier today. However, Trela had already voted against being on the path to genius. She wasn't unintelligent, but she wasn't a genius that's for sure.

After all ... her master plan after watching her brother being slaughtered was to do the same to every Aanida she came across ... that wasn't genius ... that was insanity.

Trela knew she's never be able to pull that off anyways. But she also knew, she wouldn't think to kindly of any Aanida she came to meet.

Rolling over, she sighed.

Feed record.

She sighed, at least ... that's how she thought she was supposed to say it. Either way, she had not yet to test this out. Sure, she had had practice with her feed before, being part of the race that created them; but she wasn't all too good. So, she thought she'd give it a try.

I've been here for a while now; only met three people ... four if you include Hod. RA was the first to great me. I respect it with everything I have ... I think I should speak with it again ... regarding this ... Insanity, bonding thing.

Anyways ... I also met my roommate and her garder snake, Hod. Her name is Astrid Cronhielm. An altered human. She's altered with a red-tailed hawk which is amazing ... reminds me of Redle ... of home.

I also met this boy called Akira (Maine). He was the first I met other then RA ... and well, the first meeting was very awkward. I think I scared him. Anyways, I met him again today. We apologized and now he's in my good books.

Akira changed since I first met him. He's older now, and looks a little different. One of the staff members gave him wings! I think that'd be pretty darn cool if a staff member gave me wings. But, I'm fine on the ground. Anyways, Akira mentioned something about everyone at the Academy going insane, becoming a genius, or being bonded with a god ... or goddess, I guess in some cases.

What's going to happen to me ...

Feed ... off?

Trela rolled over and fell into a dreamless sleep.

You have just waken up from a nice sleep, but moments after slithering from your bed, you receive a formal message in your head seemingly from the Academy itself. It is played in your head, with an urgent undertone.

The chemicals in your brain have breeched the maximum capacity for insanity and deity bonding at your developmental level. Go to the Infirmary immediately, so that you may be placed into the Accelerated Convalescence Room to complete your first level of advancement.

[New RP - Trela & Aerin]

Oh no. It was happening to her ... just like Akira said. Insanity; she was right. But wait. She replayed the message in the back of her mind ... Bond with a deity ... she was bonding as well? So ... she was on the same path as Akira.

Trela slithered to the Infirmary doors and knocked before entering, 'Hel-- ... Holy s**t.' She had never been to the Infirmary before. How ... pink and ... flowery.

Shaking her head, she tried again, 'Hello! I recieved a message telling me to report ... here.' She coughed nervously.

Okay, no. Keep calm. Everything was going to be all right.

Aerin
Aerin hummed to himself, and brightly waved at the nahzeetial when she came in. "Good! You got it then. Hope it didn't disturb you too much!" He said, and beckoned her in.

"Uhmm!~ Come on in to these seats over here. Did you have any questions before we put you in the ACR~?"

Trela Keres
The snake-girl noticed the altered human waving to her, and was shocked. Well ... it was obvious it was a man ... cross-dresser. Ah, whatever. Waving back, she slithered over.

Trela paused, 'Uhh ... yeah. What's going on? Who are you?'

She could already feel her sanity slipping away. Maybe she was just worried ...

Aerin
"You're just nervous, dear. Don't worry too much. Most kids feel a bit jumbly inside before it."

Aerin settled himself on a chair, and hmmed. "Well. My name is Aerin, and I'm the nurse here." He fidgeted a bit.

"What's going on hun, is just that your chemicals in your brain are a bit out of line, but all you have to sleep for a few days in the ACR. Nothing to worry about!"

Aerin smiled reassuringly. "You're also bonded to a goddess, but I think you've realized that..." he laughed a little. "Uhm. Basically, you just take a nap and wake up a bit older, hun. Nothing bad."

Trela Keres
Trela breathed, trying to calm down. This didn't fit her personality at all. She was usually calm, cold and snappy.

The snake-girl was glad that Aerin was so calm about this. If he was nervous in the least, it would cause her to freak out. Smirking, Trela nodded, 'Nice to meet you, Aerin. I'm Trela, but ... you probably knew that.' She shifted awkwardly. Listening to him, she felt better. So ... just sleeping and she wakes up ... older? Is it going to hurt? Gah, breath Trela, breath!

Remaining calm, Trela nodded, 'Okay ... so ... I am bonded? To who?'

On the inside, Trela was panicking. On the outside, she was trying to remain as calm as possible.

Aerin
"No, it never hurts. Even if you get some extra limbs, they're just a little sore."

Aerin moved to stand by her, and gave her a sort of sideways hug with one arm. "I did, haha. But I know all the students here. Even if there are only 15 or so right now," he said, grinning.

He quickly pinged Trela's feed. "Medusa. She is a ...very old goddess. From old earth. Greek, even."

Aerin felt her nervousness, and squeezed her shoulder. "It'll be okay. I even went through the ACR once!"

Trela Keres
Trela breathed out, and nodded, 'I guess it's just life on fast forward.' Looking at Aerin, she smiled. He was a pretty awesome guy, and Trela appreciated him being so nice about this.

Her nervous levels kicked down a few notches.

Medusa. Trela grinned, 'That's ... amazing.'

A pause, 'Well ... I guess if you're okay ... and ... Akira's okay ... then the ACR isn't as scary as it may seem.'

Looking up at Aerin, she nodded, 'Thank you, Aerin. For ... the reassurance.'

Aerin
Aerin giggled. "Yup. You got it." He waved a hand, and the wall where the ACR was revealed itself.

"Heehee. You're right, darling. It's not bad at all. It's a good sleep, actually!" he laughed again, and moved to stand by the door.

"No problem. Though I can't take all the credit for it. Being an empath makes everything easier, when it comes to emotion. I just oooozeee happiness!~"

Aerin pointed at the entryway. "Just step in, and you'll be back out in a day or two!~"

Trela Keres
Smirking, Trela nodded, 'I still stand by my thank you.'

At first, she was a little hesitant. But she knew this must be done ... something in her feed or ... something was out of line, and this would put it back into place. It needed to be done.

Trela slithered into the ACR.

Aerin
Aerin closed the door, and let the gas flow in, and set the timer as usual. Things were going to be okay...

Turning around, Trela watched the door close.

Darkness.

Black.

Gone.
