Ah, but did they not solve the problem? That is what I want to know. In you're opinion, HOW would they have solved the problem?

So you believe it would have been better for there not to have been a forest at all? That the trees should have been spread out, isolated from the others? I guess it would have solved the sunlight problem, but it seems like it would raise other issues...
So not what I said at all. I said that they just leave it be, in other words just let things be as they are instead of fighting over what is what and who has what.

So you'd just let the maples die? I guess that solves the problem. Contrary to my personal moral values, but you're entitled to your own opinion.
Of course, if you were starving to death and you saw some fat guy sitting next to you eating a large hunk of bread, would you ask for a piece?
Essentially, that's what the maples did. Eventually they took the bread, split it into three equal pieces, then gave one of the pieces to themselves, another to the fat guy, then threw the other one on the ground for equality.
I dont think I would. I would die knowing it was my time just like the trees know its winter.

Well, not all people have the same views of death as you do. Many people are afraid of death, and would like to fight oppresion rather than sit back and die. That's what makes this world so great. There are people willing to rebel and people who can watch on, passive. So many different views and ideas...It's just fantastic.
It maybe but then it comes to the end to where why should you care....its not like what you have here can be taken with you in the end. It is true no one can do anything alone but one must also learn to let go of what they have when it is their time to go. If you do not you remain tied to this realm even in psysical death which can cause even more problems.

Not all people believe that. Atheists believe that it would be better to continue living than to just let it go, because this is your only chance. As I said before, many people find it impossible to accept that their time is up. By your argument, all poor people who can't support themselves should die.
For instance, think of a single mother with three kids. She would be considered a maple, in this case. The oaks refuse to let her have any "light". They keep all of the necessities of life and cause her and her children to starve. Is this fair for her children? They never had a shot at life. No one could help them because the only people who wanted to help them were the other maples, who had nothing to help them with as they were starving themselves. Is this the childrens' or even the mother's fault?

Nevertheless...the end must come for all living things. This is life and the things that happen are already here. Its just that the physical needs to finish what the energy started off. When someone goes...either by killing or natural death, it is meant to be. This is the way it always has been and will always will be.

Ok, seriously stop. You're sounding like me on a bad day."Ah, ******** the world! We all die anyway, stop bitching about it!"

It's times like these that when I think about our current president I think "You know? Things could be worse.". At least he hasn't started a nuclear war yet.

Do you think people should be penalized for murdering someone?

I donno what I think on that subject. I see life differently then others do. Plus I have heard just about everything there is when it comes to personal issues.

Personally, in my opinion they should have just left it be as it was. The government is screwed up as it is anyway. Sure its alot more easyer now then it was back when we first came here....but I think back then once everything was settled it was also more nice and peacful instead of stupid and loud. So, because of government and such things the world its self for humans have become this crapy little thing called a city or capital and people wonder around all day trying to get to a job that pays MONEY and money leads to greed and then that greed leads to rulership which turns everyone into demons. There is a reason why the native americans stayed in their reservations but that might go out of context. Anyways.....personally the trees should have just delt with the problem instead of arguing of who got more light then the others did. In my opinion there is no "law" persay because all it is is just a stupid peice of paper with a sig that means absolutly nothing to people like me. However, people like my self obey that because we are down to earth people and dont like to shake up trouble. It may seem like the government thing was a good idea but I really dont think so because of all the trouble its caused already. Anyways....that was probley out of context to but I donno my thoughts just kinda lead there for some reason.

Thing is, the law and government stepped into leadership because they were able to. And seeing how Anarchy wasn't working, they formed a leadership. The laws are around to protect us and i'm damn happy they have laws. It helps people like me, people who are passionate about justice, see that people who committ crimes are dealt with. You see the numbers of times people are raped and murdered and stolen from, well if there was no law there'd be no way of stopping these offenders. I feel safe with the law around.
It wouldnt be that way if we all did what we were supposed to in the first place. But, I suppose things change for a reason.

But without the law what's there to tell us what we are supposed to do? Catch-22.

Well without that light the maples would have died.
Its a new beggining for all living things on earth. Remember also that there is an end to all living things.

But everything and everyone deserves a chance at life. And all the maple's needed was the Oak's co-operation to get more light. Just because everything dies in the end doesn't mean said creature doesn't try to live.

If I could do something to prevent myself from dying I would as I love this world and i'm not ready to leave it yet. And in fact I do do things to prevent it. I stay clean and get vaccinated to prevent death from disease, I keep eating just enough to prevent death from too much or too little food. I'm careful near the roads to not get hit by cars, and all sorts of other things.

You're just going way off track here. You see absolutely no value in the life of another creature, do you? You think it's better to die because there is some other planes? No. You're actually making me angry right now. You're sounding like a depressed person. Death is not the only thing in life. I understand that if someone dies it is their time. But not if they can do something about it. It's not their time if they come back to life because paramedics revived their heart.

Actually I do. I have alot of hope for those who wish to live on when they are sick but if they pass on I feel that it would be their time. I fed a kitten when it was on its death bed last night trying to save it, giving it my energy in the process giving me a drain from life where my body was unable to move. Then only to find out that the cat died this morning in its sleep. So I have great value over the things in the plane and would do anything to help them get through life but when it is their time or when they simply just give up their is nothing anyone can do to save them even if doctors tried. If someone doesnt have a will to live they will eventually die from the pain they endure either by them causing it or by natural death. I love this world and the next all in one. It is an amazing adventure to take upon. I care for others as if they were my own and try my best to help them get through life. Its the same with all other things on earth I have contact with. I help all who needs it and to me their life is as precious to me as the air I breath. My perspective is hard to grasp because not many people have gotten to where I have in a mental and emotional state...or spiritual for that matter. I accept what happeneds in life then move on, I help if I can but I know if I dont then I would feel bad not doing anything. It is my mission to care and help other creatures on this planet including humans. Weither they want it or not I do it even if I cant stand the person. Its just me, I take life as it comes and live each day like it was my last because knowing there is an end to all it just seems you have nothing left but friends and family by your side. I have many animal friends that love me just as much as they love to live. I know because I can feel it....its a wonderful thing.

Personally, I dont think that the two trees would be together in a huge forest like that and if they were then they would be spread out and not all together so there for all of the trees would get their sunlight. I didnt say they should die, I just said that they need to learn to see things as they really are. So I mean truly I dont think that the trees would have a problem if they were all spread out like that. Plus your wrong they do move they just dont leave the ground. They move very slowly. blaugh

Trees "move" by growing more cells on one side of themselves to move their leaves to a place with more sunlight. Saying they move is like saying I move when I grow. Plus, this "movement" does not help them if all sunlight is blocked out.
I live in a place with maples and oaks living in the same forest. The maples are a lot smaller than the oaks. It's a metaphor.
And who said it was a big forest? What if this is in a city park where there is limited space?

When someone goes...either by killing or natural death, it is meant to be. This is the way it always has been and will always will be.

So you do believe that the maples should have helped themselves? Because earlier you were saying that they should do nothing and they should just die.

They move like you and me just more slower. How I know is cuz I have a friend who has lived in the same place since we were little and the tree that sits next to the house has moved over the years. So hahaha. 4laugh

I know because my Science teacher turned his plant around so that the leaves were not facing the sun. After several months, the stems had bent so the leaves were facing the light. They move by making cells, not by muscular action. They have no muscles.

I know that silly lol. But, they still move from place to place with their roots to reach the light if thats what they have to do.
