whiskers210 But if I'm not here to need its supply, one less may be killed. That logic seemed fine, until I learned about consumption. If there's one less person buying, then there's one less product that's going to be put on the shelf. Plus, my leeching off my parents is bad, and any energy I use pollutes the Earth. Also, transportation is pretty bad. We could save thousands of gallons of gas a year in my family alone if we didn't have to drive me to certain places. Your logic makes fractured sense, standing on it's own. However, you are looking at yourself in the lowest light: at your material fuel, and your material presence. And of course, you are much more than that. You have a chance to cause a positive impact much, much greater than your cost. If you see yourself as one in a numbers game, you wont win. Removing one from the mass of billions won't stop the billions to come; removal is not the answer. Its not powerful enough. What you can do, though, is use the more useful part of you: the spiritual side. (I know it is cliche) but you can make a difference. People wouldn't worry about the amount of food Mother Teresa used up... because she did so much more for people in need. Same with you: Don't feel guilty, just do something to make your life, and whats used up for you, a force to change the world, for the better, instead of another faceless consumer. I will tell you a secret... (I have connections >.>) Plants are happy about being used for a purpose, and being useful, even when eaten. ^ ^() It's ok to spend food... just not to waste it. Become an investment towards a better future, is all. Anyway... hope my speech helped at all. Joshua

My name is Vain, and I have a sleeping problem. I can hardly ever sleep. I am lucky if I get a full nights sleep once a month.

But, if you don't mind me asking, what is it that prevents you from getting adequate sleep? Is it dreams, restlessness, fear, or something else entirely?

I dont know what it is, but I can just never really sleep!!! i try sleeping pills, no effect, I have tried home remidies, dont help, I have even had a freind try a spell to help me sleep, no effect. As for what could be keeping me awake, dreams, restlessness, and constant working mind keep me up mostly. I fear my dreams, because a few have come true (One of the dreams that came true, was one of my freinds dieing, adn the next day, I find out he was killed in a caar crash, along with his girlfreind and her son...)i am restless, because I dont do enough during the day to wear me down, adn even after a long day of school + work + hiking, I still dont get tired, and constant working mind, because I tend to think to much, and can never stop thinking.

Have you tried Melatonin supplements? Melatonin is the hormone released in your brain that makes you sleepy. I tried taking it, but the 1mg knocked me out for a few days, and if I just took part of the pill it had no effect except make me groggy the next day. But I've heard it works for a lot of people, so maybe both of you might want to try it if you're too sick of not sleeping. But yeah, I'd say you have a lot fighting you sleep, Vain. And really, if you think about it, your fear of dreams that come true is not really realistic. I mean, do you believe that if you had not had that dream about your friend dying, that he would have died at all? I think he would have. So, in my opinion, your dreams aren't really hurting anyone or anything, except maybe flipping you out a bit. The first time I had a dream about something, and it happened a few days later, I was completley freaked out. But then I realized that it was pretty awesome, so it never really affected my sleep. My main problem is the same as both of you, seemingly: I can't get my mind to shut up enough to relax. So yeah, we're in the same boat, there.

Aye. I refuse to take any pills or anything, I dont trust my doctors ninja the last time they gave me meds, it was for my migranes, the pills knocked me out for two days (they also cured sleeplessness), but then the nexxt day when I went to take them, they had no effect, and to this day, never have. See, I also gain immunities to pills, FAST...

So yeah, I understand.
