Just to point out, there are two threads here on astral projection with very different information.. which is fine. I'm just wondering are you both talking about the same thing, or does astral projection as a term, encompass a few things??

I've seen three threads and each had different informantion. One says its dangerouse, the other says its not, and the third I just don't know .... I've always tried doing it since 7th grade. I would get bored while in the hospital and just site there trying to clear my mind and see what would happen.
When I was younger I had alot of dreams that I was sure really happened, but when ever I would tell my mom she would say "No, that never happened. You were just dreaming" Most of them are between the ages of 4 through 7. After that I sort of started losing my connection to the paranormal.
I've always been able to relax my body to the point of " shaking or vibrating". My body will go, I guess the easiest way to explain it is, numb. When I try and move my hands, feet, fingers, toes: they don't move. I have the sensation that they're moving but they aren't. The most I get is a little twitch in one of my fingers. I feel like I could, and really want to, just stand up and walk around outside my body, but I can't seem to go any farther. (I actually just tried it after reading through the first post and again, this is as far as I can go.)
Depending how long I've been trying it, I can come too easily with just opening my eyes or other times my whole body and head will sort of jolt/snap up strait.

Since I'm in this subforum, and only twenty odd days late for posting. The dangerous vs not-dangerous thing, most people, me included consider it possibly dangerous, but not likely. How often do you get mugged? The "danger" is considered only likely if you end up going into, lets say, the dark alleyways of the "astral (insert noun for a place)". Beliefs are usually considered too, don't believe you'll go to a dangerous place, don't believe you can be harmed and you shouldn't have either happen... Mind you, I have different thoughts then those expressed so far, I'm just saying that you should decide for youself however you do, and then expect anyone you talk to to say they have different beliefs. I'm sure theres some objective truth, or 'laws', but I can't tell what they are. I wouldn't trust anyone who says what the 'laws' are, atleast not without a heaping grain of salt.

Thats understandable. Its like the whole, your in 'danger' one you step outside, yet you still go outside thing. There's always a chance but its slim. As long as your careful your fine. Ok.
Then I have a question, any tips on getting up and walking around once your seperated from your body? Like I said, I have the feeling that I've seperated but I don't know how to walkaround. I read somewhere to imagine your standing up but that doesn't work.
