She walked again for a moment in silence, before stopping abruptly and turning on a heel. Remarkable, the way she could look down her nose at someone so much taller than her. "You're trying to set yourself up as a mentor and a leader," she said sharply. "You're modeling behavior for people trapped in this miserable boat with us. So maybe consider what kind of confidence you want to model, and ask me that again."

Blarney blinked and pulled up short, surprise turning his face remarkably goldfish-like for a moment or two. He shut his mouth, took a beat - two, three - and nodded. He was Blarney, not Mason. He was a Squire - a Knight, soon, he hoped - and he was leading a brigade - a brigade he would make exist, one way or the other. He set his jaw in determination and met Joy's eyes, steady and focused. He seemed - taller, somehow, but maybe he'd just stopped slouching and was standing at his full six-foot-three height, for once, but he wasn't paying attention to that. He was focused solely on the Knight in front of him, and what she was asking of him. (So focused, in fact, he didn't notice the fact he was glowing faintly golden, his Aspect having activated. Nor did he notice the faint white poof of light that had nestled itself in his flower crown.) "Please either give me information or give my information - or both - if you come across anyone you think would be a good fit for a brigade whose goals are built on trust, support and protection of less-powerful Knights, and information-gathering. Whether you think they need the brigade or you think the brigade needs them - if you think they might fit, I want to know about them. Please."

She did not tell him good job for improving the request. The approval was implied by her response, which accompanied her resuming her walk. She was, as always, clearly more comfortable talking while moving. "I will," she said. "It sounds like something we're in dire need of. Everything is too improvisational - too throw-them-to-the-wolves. You may want," she added, "to see if you can get in touch with some of the Mauvians who help new people get settled - the ones that come over from the other side or crash land their UFOs or however it is that that works. I'm not sure who those are - Viatrix helped me with Maus, but I don't think it's so much her usual course of action. But they might have some advice for those particular newcomers, and maybe it'll be broadly applicable. Can't hurt, anyway." She hesitated. "Maus has been looking for those types too, but I don't think he really wants to help in that way, and I don't suggest you rely on him for anything more serious than dogsitting," she added, very drily. "But if you figure any of that out - the people coming over from the other side, mostly - maybe throw him a bone and let him know, too, so he can talk someone else's ear off instead of mine."

Blarney allowed himself on big victorious grin, but refrained - barely - from fistpumping, lest she turn around and catch him. He smothered his smile into something more appropriate and caught up with her (easily, since his legs were almost as long as she was tall), nodding as she spoke. "Viatrix is the main Mauvian I know," he said, "but I'm sure there are others, even if they mostly deal with Senshi stuff. Surely coming over from the other side and turning into a Knight can't be that different than turning into a Senshi, right?" Blarney added it to his mental list: they couldn't forget about people who purified. He cared a lot about that on a personal level - he thought it was probably the best way to cut the Negaverse off at the knees - but he hadn't really considered how it might fit into the brigade. They wouldn't have their memories or be recognized by the other side, but - they would need extra protection and extra support, because they also wouldn't have any clue who they themselves were. Hmm... "I'll talk to Maus," he said after a long few moments of quiet, turning it over in his mind. "Maybe we can help him and he won't even notice he's helping us, too," he added with a grin. "And I'll talk to any Mauvians I can find, too. That one was already on my list, but I hadn't thought of the purification angle. Thanks, Miss Joy."
