"What tha bloody 'ell's goin' on 'ere? Jus' barely got all settled in with this group and now I'm 'ere." An indignant voice sounded from the rear of the group. Pushing his way forward, a red-haired man in a black suit would immediately get into Nascour's face. "Name's Reno. Ain't been 'round too long but ain't gonna take a buncha malarkey from some bedhead weirdo. Not when we got some nutso....meteor...aw hell, the bloody thing wrecked my world." His expression would sour as he backed from his attempt to be confrontational with the bizarre man he had been seeing as the source of all their issues.

Finally taking a moment to assess the others in the room, he would begin to see some vaguely familiar faces. Although he was a little uncertain on the names, he had just joined and none of the upper crust old guard were really approaching him besides Sub at this point. "So...do any a ya recognize me? Cause I...think I recognize some a ya?"

Rhe Leafeon hybrid watched and listened as people began to introduce themselves but, truly only two names stood out to him and, perhaps three faces?

"Kaya Rayvn. Oddly, also Team Snagem. I was on a mission with my team to stop some psycho from taming God, I think? It's already getting pretty hazy, to be honest. I could just as easily have been getting a slurpee from the kitchen. I did always like a good Figy slurpee." He admitted, walking toward the others, slowly. "Crystal... I know you. I think." He announced to the Espeon hybrid as she knelt to speak to the familiar-yet-unfamiliar Elektrike hybrid. The boy felt like a face he recognized but he wasn't absolutely certain he did.

"And Keiko, too..." He told the human woman, his voice softening a bit. He remembered her as being the anxious sort. And a friend.

But in this place? Was it possible these people were the ones he knew? Or were these just lookalikes from another time and place?

The Electrike hybrid scooted back in the sand a bit more once Crystal approached him, staring at her when she approached. He shirked back as if she was radioactive, scared of her. The eyes of the strangers taking notice to him also didn’t do him any favors. He wanted to hide; he wanted to run. But as he looked around, checking to see if he hallucinated any lack of a way out. But nothing changed. He imagined frantically as if the chief was behind him, glaring at him, ready to do all manner of berating and scolding to the child for being here. For only barely considering this Espeon hybrid’s words. The chief always knew. He always knew. He was scared to answer her.

But then…as he looked around the area, there was always someone there, if not the chief himself. It was part of the conditioning. Everything monitored. Was this actually true? Real? The kid would stare at the Espeon hybrid for a few seconds more before he meekly said. “Tristen.” He said.

The man listened as everyone said their names and gave a bit of information on their former worlds, Nascour not responding too much until Tee pointed at him and informed him of the 'other him' and his current status; that being dead. Nascour scoffing and turning away dismissively. "Perhaps one of me, but not me. I'm not surprised though..." He began, turning his focus back to Tee. "...you Snagems have a way of spreading destruction wherever you go." Nascour said, his red eyes shimmering a bit as he glared at the Absol hybrid. No hard feelings, huh?

"Well then..." He said, turning away from Tee and back to the group at large. "...I guess introductions are over. Interesting to see that some of you come from the similar worlds, if not the same, though perhaps not the same time. With us all acquainted let us move onto the next phase of all this, that being why I spared you are all from oblivion. To do that I must explain the how, that is how I brought you here..." With that he held his empty hand out, palm to the sky. Where there was nothing something began to materialize, the object glitching into view pixel-like and began to quickly stabilize and take on a more high definition form as now a rounded stone sat in his hand. The stone was gray stone with a gear-like carving on it with a hole drilled through the entire thing. Inside the hole was a piece of what looked like green ceramic suspended in place by some sort of lighter green energy which emitted from inside the stone.

"This here is the Chronos Stone, same name of the island but that's not a coincidence as it is the stone that manifested this island you see." He began to explain, de-materializing the Chronos Stone, where it was stored was anyone's guess. "The stone itself was forged outside of this place, back in my home world. Carved from stone harvested from the Relic Stone and imbued with Celebi's energy contained within a piece of a Time Flute. The stone originally allowed one to travel through time, in a limited fashion albeit, however an unfortunate event befell its owner at the time after they came under attack by a particularly powerful Psychic hybrid. The stone went haywire and attempted to transport them to a future where their world no longer existed, into a void of nothingness. With the stone they were able to forge something from nothing by drawing in fragments of other dying worlds and thus this place was built." He said, gesturing at the surroundings, which wasn't much.

"It's also by the power of the stone that all of you arrived here. And it's by the power of the stone that we will all escape this place to a world that is meant to exist, unlike this one." He said, his face somehow becoming even more stern than it was before. "This place is temporary, kept only in existence by the stone drawing in pieces to replace what fades away into oblivion but alas this cannot last forever, the stone limited in its energies. But you, Snagems, will be able to use the Chronos Stone to its full potential to save us all and you will do it by giving the stone the power it needs. You see, the stone typically would need to be recharged by Celebi, the source of its power but there is no Celebi in this forsaken place. And while the wielder of the stone searched for one it could not find such a Pokemon but they did find a powerful Psychic force that should be enough to fuel the stone, pulled it into this island at the edges of Ultra Space." With that Nascour smiled again, that same unsettling grin.

"In this place is now a monstrosity of unfathomable Psychic might, an abomination of nature who much like this island, much like us, is not meant to exist. Here, on Chronos Island, is something called the Psychic Elemental and you, Team Snagem, will slay it and claim its power for the stone." Nascour announced, throwing his arms out wide dramatically as he made his proclamation, red eyes now wide as the cracks in his sanity began to show. "Save me, save us, Team Snagem!" He demanded of them.

Though she lamented what seemed to be the loss of her boyfriend, the constantly-shifting lady would prove a soothing presence, and she smiled at said lady to show her gratitude for that. Keiko was curious about what was going on with her constant shifting of forms, but the young woman's attention was taken by more familiar voices - specifically Kaya and... a side of Reno she hadn't seen since she first joined Snagem. Keiko would also look over to Trusten, and while her heart wanted to try to comfort the boy, she feared she wouldn't have any more success in doing so than the Espeon hybrid lady did.

"I remember you," Keiko spoke up when Reno asked. "Though I haven't heard you talk like that in a long while." She'd also wave to Kaya when he spoke her name. Then the stranger spoke up again, this time with a mission for them all. Keiko had never heard of the Elementals before, so she had no context to what she was being asked to slay. She'd look back to Tristen and was once again torn. Whichever version of Tristen this was, it was clear he was below the minimum age to receive a Pokemon Trainer's license, and while he doubtless had some abilities as a hybrid, he was still a child. But she didn't want to come off as insulting him, and she didn't have the courage to speak up to this stranger, either. Who knew what he was capable of? She didn't, and she certainly didn't want to put herself in harm's way to find out.
PostPosted: Wed Apr 08, 2026 6:31 pm

Crystal watched Tristen’s reaction to her, her forked tail flicking. The kid was completely on his guard, scared, hyper vigilant, if her readings were right. She frowned, wondering what kind of life Tristen led to be like this at his young age. When he finally gave his name, she smiled. “Glad to meet you, Tristen. Now-”

The hybrid had to stifle a sigh when Nascour started again, turning her head towards him, but that was about it. Her eyes narrowed, eying the Chronos Stone. Her ear twitched as they began to lay flat again, until he mentioned one thing she was astounded to hear. “...Gomenasai? Just what did you tell us we had to do?” Crystal would finally stand back up and give the man her undivided attention, astounded by the task they were asked. “You definitely brought the wrong person in then. If that thing had any of the same capabilities that the Elementals I recall had, I’m a liability. Elementals that I remember had the ability, hell, damn near a need to control others of their type. And you want a psychic type hybrid to go up against it? No. And then we only captured them, too, not killed them. Unless that Chronos Stone can store it somehow and siphon off the energy that way.” Crystal shook her head, wondering just how long this man had been here. With how he was asking, why would she even want to release him into some reality to cause havoc? None of them had even asked for this, either, to be here. At this point, she really did rather be in that disappeared reality instead of here. At least she’d only be turning on allies once.

Monique listened as she looked around, checking occasionally on Keiko. There were recognizable names in very unrecognizable visages, and this Keiko seemed to recognize some of them more than her. Which made sense; Snagem had, after all, been around a while before she showed up. It was so jarring to see people who never grew up in a world outside the Dome—this was normal. After all, she'd seen Kaimana with a tail!

She listened to Nascour explain that the world that they were in was basically built from scraps of other failing realities. Themselves among them.

Quote:
"Here, on Chronos Island, is something called the Psychic Elemental—and you, Team Snagem, will slay it and claim its power for the stone."

Monique had never heard of the Psychic Elemental. But it wouldn't be a problem because she was a Dark-type hybrid—wait, no, why would a human think a Psychic wasn't a problem? She reached for her side clip—no she didn't wear one now. She fumbled through her bag, starting to prepare a strategy to deal with a Psychic type.

...Why were there two shiny Poké Balls? Kalama's was to be expected, it was the only one, it was unlike the ones 49 years in the past—but of course there were two, and why were there all these old-looking Poké Balls? She could feel her mind fluttering between two different sets of information, like a signal from the past overlaid on the present.

Wait. Does that mean I have Oricorio again here?

What other Pokémon did this future me even catch!?
PostPosted: Thu Apr 09, 2026 6:49 am

Kaya waved back at Keiko, realizing she must be a version he knew. Or maybe she was a version of Keiko who knew a version of him that was recognizable? This was confusing. He looked around once more as Nascour began to explain where they were and how they had arrived, sans mechanics of course, trying to process it all. He had already recognized one or two of these people but now, he was certain, he recognized a third as well. The boy's skittishness told him it couldn't be the same one he knew but it was the person, undoubtedly. "You're... Tristen, right?" He asked gently as he approached the Electrike hybrid Crystal was speaking to. "I know you... Or a version of you, I guess?" He told the boy. "Your parents were raising you into a strong and confident kid. You can handle this place, I promise." He told the youth, offering him a warm smile, which almost instantly crumbled as Nascour continued explaining, finally reaching the mention of a Psychic Elemental.

"An Elemental? Like Celsius?" He asked, recalling the Ice Elemental they had once dealt with. That was the thing that had turned Blizz into a hybrid, that had haunted the man's narrative for years and that had at one point threatened their very world. Sure, his version of Snagem had beaten him but they had also nearly all died in the process. And that was an Elemental of a physical element. How would this ragtag group, many of whom where either inexpereince from the look of them, untrusting of these strangers with good reason or simply too displaced to be in their prime deal with such a being that used an immaterial power at that level?

"If this thing is anything like him, we're not beating it easily. If at all." The Hybrid announced. This was looking like he might get his oblivion after all.

Tee sparingly listened to Nascour preach until he certain word.
Elementals.
Harsh expletives and phrases were yelled the moment that word was mentioned.
Fragmented flashbacks of terrible images, sounds of horror, and immense amount of dread danced in Tee's head, not wanting to relieve such memories. The awful feeling he had early was no mistake. He turned his attention to the group, surveying everyone.

"Even a kid got dragged into this......this must be hell if I'm to go through this again....Crystal? Kaya? Reno?"
He walked over to where the others, some familiar and others he had no recollection of. While hearing Nascour's plan for them all, Tee turned himself to everyone else.

"In other circumstances I'd be happy to see you all, but assuming we are from a simlar timeline..." He gestured torwards Crystal, Kaya and Reno, "We know what these elementals are capable of..but it seems others may not have a clue what we're really up against."
His ruby colored eyes went from Monique's confusion to Tristin's fear of what was happening.

"We have to find a way to get ourselves out of here because doing what this narcissistic p***k wants is us walking into a death sentence."

Monique turned toward the source of the outburst, the white-haired guy. It had started as soon as Nascour uttered the word "elemental".

It didn't register on Monique's seismograph, but it had clearly rocked his world. He moved toward several of the other Snagems, clearly more familiar with him than she was.

"...Narcissistic p***k? Who is this guy?" She gestured with a hand, flickering between dark skin and fur, toward Nascour's visage. "Clearly you know him?" Monique asked Tee out of genuine lack of knowledge. She didn't get up. She was not about to abandon Keiko right now.

Reno didn't have much to offer in the wake of all the sudden attention and bizarre questions and concepts being thrown his way. Slowly leaning away as he attempted to process it all, Reno would finally look towards Keiko. "Miss. I ain't got a bloody clue 'o you are, but I appreciate the 'ole speakin' ta me part. Cause..." Staring at the Chronos Stone, Reno began to absentmindedly tap on his leg. "This is all startin' ta feel real similar ta where I left. Pokin' some bloody psychic rock and seein' what gets spit out. And I'm guessin' doing that is 'ow I ended up 'ere. And...I 'ave completely lost my point 'cause I'm tryin' not ta freak out."

Looking back towards the one who was speaking the most crazy, Reno would give a small wave towards Nascour. "Oi! Tall, weird, and disheveled! Where's this thing yer goin' on about!?"
PostPosted: Sat Apr 11, 2026 7:11 am

"No, I brought the correct person." Nascour said as he turned on his heel to face Crystal, hands behind his back. "It is the Chronos Stone that will be the answer to both of those problems. As a Psychic hybrid you should be able to, in theory, wield the stone better than others and it is with the stone that you should, again in theory, be able to resist the Elemental's influence. Furthermore much like how the wielder of the stone pulled in things from across time to this place you will be able to pull in the Capture Disc required to capture the Psychic Elemental. Specific inanimate objects, things that have no real energy signature, are extremely difficult, if not impossible, to pull in. At least for a non-Psychic wielder of the stone. With enough focus you should be able to locate a Capture Disc in a dying world just before it disappears and summon it here." Nascour explained to Crystal.

"But yes, fighting the Elemental will not be easy, in fact you will be putting your very lives in danger to do so. However, what lives do you really have? All of us should not be here, we have denied death its mark. You've already escaped oblivion once and now you are left with two options; fight the Psychic Elemental for a chance to escape this place and gain a second chance at living or do nothing and we all slowly fade away into nothingness with this island.

"And narcissistic?" Nascour began as he turned again, this time to face Tee. "Perhaps. But is it not my 'narcissism', as you put it, that will give you a chance at life? But by all means, if you wish to shun the grace I have shown you all, how I saved you, then by all means do nothing. We can all sit around on the beach with false sand that feel and behaves like bits of styrofoam. Or maybe we'll rest in the Pokemon Center whose structure behaves like a bounce house on the inside. Either way we can all enjoy this wrong place until we fade away but at least you'll still have your dignity in tact, right? Your morals untarnished." Nascour said, his words becoming more venomous as he spoke, clearly showing contempt for Tee.

Scoffing turned his attention back to the matter at hand. "The Psychic Elemental can be found on what is suppose to be Birth Island in a proper world, the wielder of the Chronos Stone barely able to contain it there. To reach it you will have to travel on foot. Yes, on foot. The ocean here isn't actually water or rather it doesn't behave like it." He said, again his tone full of disdain, he despised this place clearly. "I will join you all on the journey to the Elemental and before he reach the island I shall in part the Chronos Stone on you, my purple furred friend." He said to Crystal with a slight bow. "But only until the very last minute. I know none of you trust me, and you have no reason too, but the same goes the other way around. If you agree to this task we are simply allies due to circumstance. If we escape this place I shall part ways with you in the new world and you'll never see me again. No schemes, no plots for revenge against Team Snagem, nothing of the sort. That is my promise to you and while I may be many things the one thing I am not is a liar." His face would contort, again that look of disdain as if the very idea of lying disgusted him.

"So, what do you say to my proposition, Team Snagem? Possible death with the possibility of a new life or certain death in time? Those are your options. If you agree then I shall give you a boon to aid in fighting the Elemental." Nascour said as he re-materialized the Chronos Stone in his outstretched hand, the stone floating just above it.

"Gather around the stone and reach out for it, but do not touch. I shall imbue you all with some of its energy. This energy will age you rapidly, but not instantly, and not in the way you are imagining. Instead it will age you in the way you would have aged had your world not died, that is you will become the person you would have been in every way imaginable. You will physically look the way you were meant to including scars. You will gain all knowledge you would have had. You will gain any abilities you would have gained. This can even include items that you have on your person constantly in the future, that you would have had an emotional attachment to, meaning it can appear on your person. It's the same for your Pokemon as well, so long as you have a powerful bond. However I can only you give you so much energy so you will stop aging at a certain point, this point being different for everyone. The entire process should wrap up by the time we make it to the Elemental. So make your choice, Snagems."

"I'll take it."

Keiko stood up and said that the second Nascour was finished talking. She didn't trust him, and she was fairly confident that this would just kill her or worse. But if what he was saying was true, if there was even a chance she could change... Become a version of herself that was stronger, more confident, not constantly afraid something horrible happening to her.. it was worth the risk. And if she died, well, what was there to worry about at that point? It's not like she'd ever see her boyfriend again at this point. He was probably... she didn't want to finish that thought. She walked up to Nascour and reached out for the stone, as instructed, and waited for something, anything to happen.

The next thing she knew, a large chunk of her memories changed in an instant. Or did they? Weren't these always the memories she'd had? That's weird. Shrugging it off, she looked up at Nascour, stared at him blankly for a second, then turned to see the rest of Snagem and smile. "Oh, hey guys!"

The fact that Crystal didn’t have even so much as a sarcastic remark to Tristen, while not making him drop his guard, did honestly get the kid’s attention. That was perhaps the first time in a while someone was actually glad to meet him. But Kaya making the mention he knew him. How? Tristen never saw this person before. But yet, he wasn’t doing anything either that would show he was about to be put in his place again. He didn’t understand it, but then the Electrike kid wasn’t understanding what was going on in general. There was still animosity towards between most of the people here and this more intimidating looking figure in spite of his insistence of him saving the lot of them. At least for the time being. And who was this Team Snagem? Why was this person calling everyone that?

As the shady man continued to speak, talking about the weird stone, he spoke as if he was offering something. Once again, he couldn’t help but to think back to what the chief talked about. What he demanded. To take any kind of charity meant weakness. Weakness meant you were a burden. Tristen curled up tighter, not wanting to get in any sort of trouble. It was clear he wasn’t going to be approaching the stone on his own.

Crystal narrowed her eyes as she listened to the man, explaining how his special macguffin should help her specifically, as well as him talking about their situation as a whole. Apparently, this was going to fall on her a fair bit as, looking around, she was currently the only psychic type specialist around. There was part of her that was severely skeptical over all of this, over Nascour’s motivations. At the same time, the way he acted and spoke… he probably was here a while. And thinking over things, there were other questions that started brewing. Was he the original creator of this Chronos Stone, or did he take it from the actual creator? How the hell did they get a Psychic Elemental to stay anyways? And, considering that a fair few people here looked unfamiliar to her, why were they all being referred to as Team Snagem by him? The hybrid frowned as she looked at the others, some seeming to be hesitant to act, either because they’d be working with Nascour, or for other reasons she couldn’t quite pick up on. Sighing, she'd look around at their surroundings and recall how they were brought here.

“Tee,” she finally started, turning her attention to him as the largest detractor to Nascour’s plan, “normally, I would agree with you. An Elemental is nothing to screw around with, even with bigger numbers of people. However, you remember how we arrived? At least for me, we had the old lost channel signal TV like screen, followed by fuzzy static before landing on this island and everything not looking like a bad video game. That’s… probably not normal for anywhere. We don’t know the rules of this place, and who knows how long we have here. Yes, we have a child here, and while I don’t recognize them,” she’d point to Reno, Keiko, Monique, and Tristen, “I guess they join Snagem at some point in their lives. How this Nascour knows this, I don’t know. However, If it's to stay here in an empty… not-reality, with just these people here, with no other surefire way of leaving, or at least die knowing I wasn’t a bum, I think I’d take the fighting. Sure, maybe I’d rather take not knowing I stopped existing from a pruning over those two options, I guess, but if that relic can actually keep me from becoming a pawn again, I’d rather fight than do almost nothing. This is at least a path forward.” Running a hand through her dark purple hair, she sighed. “Besides, he’s right, I don’t trust him either, and this is more of a tenuous thing. How about you keep an eye on him then, and if he tries anything, you know what to do.”

With her piece said to Tee, she looked to Tristen again, getting down to his level once more. “Hey, Tristen. I can see that you’re also hesitant to take his… I don’t know whether I’d call it a gift, blessing, boon… whatever. However, this… aging up, I guess, is going to be something necessary, I think. I’ve been around to fight a whole swath of these creatures, one for each of the seventeen types of Pokémon.” Once more, her voice became gentler when addressing the Electrike hybrid, trying to at least give off some sense that she could be trusted. “That isn’t for the faint of heart, even a single Elemental. It took an entire team of us, some twenty some odd members strong at least, to bring each one down. That being said, I will not force your decision on accepting Nascour’s offer. If you do, I won’t try to stop you. However, if you do not…. I don’t want you stepping onto the Elemental’s island, especially anywhere near the fight. I cannot, in good conscience, even if we’re all from the ends of our worlds, allow a child to fight an Elemental. I will leave one of my Pokémon to stay with you, but if you decide not to age up, do not join us for that fight, okay? An Elemental is no place for you to be as you are now.”

Standing up once again, Crystal would take a deep breath, closing her eyes. “As for me…” Opening her eyes, she would reach her hand out towards the Chronos Stone, still frowning. “With as few people as we have this time, we need all the help we can get.”
